Thinking of selling my S60 for a new long range S. Thoughts/questions...

Though sales are down, S and X still lead their class in market share, and still have better margins. Given that Tesla pre- announced plaid Powertrain and interior upgrades (Osborne effect), and space is needed for Y in Fremont, I could see them closing the S line for several quarters (and maybe...

This truck design had better be a joke....

Hmmm... a friend of mine just called and said he put down a deposit for this truck. He owns a farm and said the vehicle would be ideal for hauling equipment and supplies, especially useful with the ramp and cover, and serve as his primary vehicle for driving. He’s coming from a Hyundai SUV and...

This truck design had better be a joke....

Conceptually this truck has great features for towing, range, efficiency, power outlets, air compressor. Hardened metal (and glass?) seem as an attempt to play to a perceived “tough” mindset, but practically it’s hard to understand how many would care about that. The presentation of the broken...

Charging at Supercharger ignored charge limit

I’ve seen the charge increase a few percent while not being plugged in, presumably related to the outside temperature increasing.

    Holiday Easter Egg not working

There's one subtle detail I didn't notice until lots of trial and error, and perhaps you're running into the same: when you exit the car, do not use the key fob to close the driver door, otherwise the show will only go as far as rolling down the windows and stop; rather, press the outside driver...

    System restart while driving

I’ve had a restart happen on X once while driving, after ~30,000 miles, and happened after I was using an earlier version of the web browser that was somewhat flakey. For reference, my 2013 Ford Fusion restarted every ~500 miles where the screen indicated “performing scheduled maintenance” at...

Genius level IQ people. Explain what Tesla is doing!?!

Tesla doesn't seem a whole lot different than my drywall contractor with regards to pricing... Contractor: "If you want to add this room, we can do it for $800" Me: "No" Contractor: "It turns out we can do it for cheaper because we picked up another job nearby, so don't have to account for...

3% Price increase across the board

Finally, a rational move. Maybe there’s a method to this madness and these steps were planned all along. The net effect is they need to boost demand by having a sale timed with end of the quarter. Announcing an expiration (price increase) does exactly that. Now they could have taken a more...

Anybody else get the feeling we'll hear about more than the Model Y on the 14th?

While I certainly agree they need to do something to increase demand for S and X, the timing for that would make more sense in April (or July even). Announcing it with two more weeks to go in the quarter when deliveries are timed worldwide could result in cancellations and excess inventory to...

    New superchargers v3

This happens in cold weather, which I’ll assume since you’re in Montreal - charge rate might ramp to around 100kW, then back down to a lower rate - when below 0F, I’ve only gotten 40kW without any other car charging.

The new fantasy sales framework will fail

I’m not quite following how this is that much of a change, at least from my buying experience. I bought X at Minneapolis service center after test driving - completed transaction online using computer there (though easily could have done that from my phone). Then picked up vehicle there 3 months...

    Model S refresh "MI04"

It would seem most cars produced for the next few weeks would be U.S. only, new orders won’t go to other counties until Q2

Tesla needs to refresh the Model S, asap.

For the S if they could increase range (especially for winter) and/or bring features up to parity with X - automatic doors, maybe sunroof available again, I’d buy one. Keep the exterior, seats, two screens (not a fan of the 3 screen having to shift focus off the road)

Model S range and interior update imminent?

As 75D's make up a substantial portion of S/X sales, I can't imagine Tesla would decrease production by such a large amount. The only thing that makes sense is if they are able to sell more in specific markets for Q1 -- China comes to mind, as many may be jumping to purchase before end of Q1...
