    UK Pricing piss take

Missed that I was looking at the model 3. If it helps German finance rate for Model Y is 0.00%. So yes we pay both more for the car and more for the finance

    UK Pricing piss take

Yes the whole 'drive on the left' basically lets them lock the whole UK market down. When I lived in Germany there was quite a lot of cross border auto trade when pricing anomalies occured

    UK Pricing piss take

So Tesla have decided to make their cars more affordable around the planet. Except for us idiots in the UK. Who are currently paying nearly £5K more for an entry model 3 than they do in Germany. Oh and the cherry on top is higher finance interest rates. I love the cars, but this 'take...

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

Same here. Thankfully in process of disconnecting my gas so saving that standard charge more than covers the increase in the electricity. Shame they didn't drop overnight rate down to 5p. I still have fond memories of those days 😁

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

I had the same conundrum for my battery only install. Went GivEnergy in end due to: Pricing: This has changed the 2 devices should be at parity cost wise but some installers are not passing on the price drops. Battery chemistry: Not a fan of NMC (PW2) in the household storage scenario feel...

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

Still waiting forine to be installed but as part of the initial survey they calculated the heat needed to keep the house at 21C, which is dependent on the fabric of the house ie insulation etc. In my case estimated annual electricity usage for heating and hot water was 5500 kWh Just installed...

    Octopus (regional price differences)

I'm guessing over £6 per kWh was a typo. There have always been regional differences which from what I remember was due to sourcing of power from different providers in different parts of country (I could be wrong though). Also curious I am guessing your an EV owner and I'm surprised your not...

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

I've got British Gas installing an ASHP in November (Oxymoron I know) and they have just informed me my end price is dropping £2.5K due to the subsidy change. Yes I tried going with Octopus but lost the will with noisy kit needing planning permission and total inflexibility on using quieter...

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

Sigh I've got a battery only setup and no MCS (installer only does MCS Certificates for Solar). Getting outgoing rate is going to be a challenge even with the DNO approval

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

About same including VAT. Problem I had is I could see Tesla had dropped PW prices (£5,800 for PW & Gateway excl VAT, delivery and installation)but installers where still trying to charge me about £9k-10k and telling me I could get a £350 rebate. So between that and the Givenergy LFP and larger...

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

Apparently Octopus will be offering the GivEnergy all in one 'soon', which is a cheaper powerwall 2 alternative (mine is being installed as I write this though not via Octopus as could not be arsed waiting). Main advantage it has over PW2 is LFP and not NMC batteries which are 'safer' and 6 kW...

Exporting at 15p - Help please

Octopus seem to have a GivEnergy love affair going on and with Tesla entering the UK energy market I can see Octopus preferring a powerwall alternative to counter Tesla tempting all powerwall customers over with various VPP offers

    Creaking noise

Interesting. Over last 4 years 80k miles have had various bits replaced either under warranty or paid for by me. My rear has just started creaking (low speed) but the estimated bill is £85 which sounds like a lube job. But won't be suprised if on day get the 'ah discovered xcx' conversation...
