Change Satnav/Connectivity from US spec to EU spec

Thanks for the reply. Sush a hardware replacement, and then still the issue of a different charging outlet incompatible with Tesla Superchargers seems too much of a hassle for the small price advantange this particular M3 would have.

Calculating battery degradation on buying used S 85

Plenty of non-Tesla dealer model S cars available in the Netherlands. Due to subsidies the Netherlands was frontrunner with 5yrs operational lease contracts in 2013-2015. Al these cars are now flooding the market, with 80,000mi/140,000kms plus, so hardly eligable for extended warrantees. I do...

Change Satnav/Connectivity from US spec to EU spec

(just learned that the car comes with a CHAdeMO adaptor as EU does not only have different powerplus, but also a different outlet at the car side. Supercharging is sadly not possible, so a car with hindrences on long hauls. Interesting to see whether this can be converted, but only after the...

Change Satnav/Connectivity from US spec to EU spec

I've been offered one of the earlier Model 3's, US-imported in 2018. Getting a correct US charger rather then an adapter plug seems the smallest challenge. The car seems to have the improved Autopilot. The issue it only connects through wifi/hotspot, and the satnav only accepts Canada, USA and...

Bodywork - Disconnect sensors/lights - Need to reset CPU?

I would risk this with the front bumper, but with doors and air bags, I feel more comfortable disconnecting the 12V

Calculating battery degradation on buying used S 85

Agree, a battery swap will become commonb and workshops will get familiar replacing parts, Sadly today my local bodyshop has hesitations disconnecting wires for replacing a dented door and a bumper with a new salvaged ones I sourced….

Calculating battery degradation on buying used S 85

Great idea, but getting a battery from Rich to the Netherlands would involve quite some shipping costs ;), and I have not found a battery supplier in Europe. I trust these will emerge in the next few years. Second issue is it would be a pitty to loose 4-6 years of battery warrantee and other...

Bodywork - Disconnect sensors/lights - Need to reset CPU?

Sound promissing. The HV might be an overkill. Any easy way to disconnect the 12V? The battery connectors would be the most logical way, but in the Tesla these seem tucked away under the dash air filter.

Bodywork - Disconnect sensors/lights - Need to reset CPU?

@David.85D , shutting down comprises opening windows & trunks, closing various cpu's/screens using the console and then disconnecting the wires, am I right? It is a 2015, am I correct that the only way to disconnect is at the oddly placed battery underneath the air filter? Anybody experience...

Bodywork - Disconnect sensors/lights - Need to reset CPU?

Planning to buy an S85 with quite some dents. Need to exchange the front bumper and two doors. One lower corner of a rear wing (door side, above battery) would require aluminium works, for which I visited a Tesla bodywork specialist. (see pic, but not relevant to this post). Tesla bodyshop...

Calculating battery degradation on buying used S 85

85kW pack? In this case I might say "fortunately" as it would mean this battery pack is not bad at all and the car could be worthy to buy.

Calculating battery degradation on buying used S 85

@widodh In the Canbus link you mention 71,6kW (screen cap) or 75,6 (text) for a 245,600km S 85. In this case my 72,2kW would be close to your degradation.

Calculating battery degradation on buying used S 85

    So is there anyone who can tell me whether a calculated 72kW is a fair number for a 2015 S 85 RWD? (82 km remaining, with 32% battery @282w/km = (82/32%) x 282 = 72,262W)

Calculating battery degradation on buying used S 85

How can I register the car at the app? This was done automatically on my first Tesla. On a used car it seems I need to mail copies of ownership paper. For the car trader this Tesla is not his normal business. I certainly can ask him to charge up, but getting the car app registered will be...

Calculating battery degradation on buying used S 85

Thnx for response. To complete the comparison: Can you tell me what your typical consumption is? Tesla quuotes 161w/km, but I hear other drivers quoting between 200-250w/km. This makes quite a difference when the car calculates the typical range.
