    Glove box scratches

Completely off topic, but is this likely to work on kitchen vinyl floor tiles with a scratch from moving the fridge? Just need something to fill the surface coat...

Why does the nav system do this?

I have noticed a preference for right turns rather than left (in the UK) - leading to some slightly non-obvious routes. Maybe this is selection bias, maybe its real.

    autopilotAutosteer STRIKES RULES???

This strike system is garbage. Its sealed the deal, no more teslas for me. It if can't detect that I'm holding the wheel, what is the point of it?

Model 3 poll - have you changed battery

No, next time I'll drive for an hour to an SC to get one - except next time I probably won't still have the car.

"Proactive" 12v battery replacement - good idea or overkill?

According to mobile service, the 12V configuration change is not enabled in the UK, so we are stuck with Tesla supplied Atlas batteries. At least I only paid £108 including fitting. (plus having now a spare Bosch battery, which I suppose I can use on the lawn mower at a push)

Model 3 poll - have you changed battery

Update, the battery type selection might not be available on UK vehicles (according to mobile tech), so the only option is the Atlas battery (or equivalent with ~600 CCA - mobile tech wasn't very helpful there). Somehow my estimate is now £108, which is not too bad (but I have a spare Bosch...

Model 3 poll - have you changed battery

Similar game here, only I will be driving to Toulouse in a couple of weeks so I accepted the £212 quote. Waiting for mobile service to turn up (since 7:30)

    [UK] 2024.8.x

2024.8.4 just installed. No adaptive headlights for a 2019 M3.

Model 3 poll - have you changed battery

So they want to charge me £70 for a new battery, and £100 labour to fit it.... They seem to believe that they can operate a monopoly on battery supply, and that a contract negotiated in this way is binding.

Model 3 poll - have you changed battery

Mine gave the same. I requested a remote re-configuration of the battery type, and had these added to my request:

Model 3 poll - have you changed battery

I reset mine, charged the battery and put it back - faults came back within hours. I think there is a periodic on-load test of the 12V, which might also depend on the state-of-charge of the battery. Back on the old battery for now (no faults so far). It makes sense that any testing is marginal...

    Run-away I-PACE, really?

No links, except the presentation I linked earlier. A broken software path is sufficient, demonstrating it is not a necessary step from my point of view. The software is closed making reverse engineering and injecting ram faults kind of tricky. We know that logic faults occur in CPUs, people put...

Model 3 poll - have you changed battery

I fitted a Bosch battery about 2 weeks ago and got a battery failure warning on Friday. Disconnecting the LV (after disconnecting the battery first) and re-connecting it has cleared the faults, but I still can't change the battery type (its set on Atlas, I think the Bosch matches the Clarion...

    Run-away I-PACE, really?

You didn't understand the Toyota situation then. Sensors were fine, but the software stopped checking the sensor information, and the failsafe didn't work. Pulling the handbrake is assumed to have been a workaround, this should have triggered an independant failsafe, but nobody would expect...

Error message on screen - should I be worried

I put in a service request since the car won't accept a change of 12V battery type, Tesla added replacement of the front harness (water ingress) and the one in the boot (camera, I believe there was a recall on this). No cost information yet since I am out of warranty.
