Your "best case scenario" has been my experience as well, set at Average, with the 2024.23.10. If there were other cars approaching it seemed to be a bit better, but not enough for me to trust it not to pause in the middle of a turn. How do you explain a NN's behavior, "it was trained that way".

It was on Average. It would also enter an intersection, pause, then continue on, which I found frightening because there were other cars around. Perhaps Average means sometimes aggressive, sometimes chill? ewood: I'm not dinging it for being "safe", I'm dinging it for being overly cautious...

I tried V12 in the suburbs and lasted about 2 minutes. It was way too hesitant at intersections, not crossing when there was plenty of time and then would not go with the flow of traffic, creating backups, e.g. reading a school zone speed then never speeding back up after leaving it. Maybe...

I have a similar intermittent lock sound problem. When I go to Controls-Locks the lock confirmation sound switch is grayed out (not selectable). Going to Toybox-boombox and fiddling with the custom lock sound there somehow causes the lock confirmation switch in Controls to become available.

Much simpler than typing in a long non-sensical URL is to do a Google search using the Tesla browser and then simply bookmark the result after verifying it works.

Good point. Troubleshooting and correcting specific outliers in an end-to-end neural net is not the same level of effort as, for example, changing a couple of parameters in a C++ following distance subroutine.

I'm not sure a neural network can explain why it does anything, except that it was "trained that way". It might report that it detected something occupying space, and probably having mass, that is in its path.
