Weird, I got a notification earlier this week to take my 2016 X into the service center as well. The MCU was acting funky (but I'm not sure if it's the problem). Also, like you, about a month after the warranty expired.

I'm fairly certain we won't get theater, since it requires the latest MCU which AP1 MXs don't have. Elon said in a tweet that non-FSD cars will get v10 in a few weeks.

I'm usually the last to get an update as well. When I contacted service, they said that they prioritize cars that are connected to WiFi (>3 bars signal) to get updates first. They told me to park in a location where it's connected to WiFi for a few hours to get the update.

I live in SF (downtown) and leave my Tesla in my garage and take an Uber or BART everywhere in the city and use the car only for out of town trips. The hassle of getting my car broken into is not worth saving a few $ on Ubers.

I haven't received it either. 2016 90D. I'm never on Wi-Fi, always on cellular..maybe that's why.

A while ago, there were rumors that it was planned for the 8.1 update. No news since then.

Sure - but the last update for AP1 was in Dec 2016 - 3 months ago. This qualifies as the longest I've seen us go without an update since I got the car back in May.

I haven't seen any reports of recent FW updates for AP1 cars. Are they actively being worked on? Or are we 'stuck' with no further improvements.
