Just took delivery of a Model 3 dual motor 10 days ago. Apart from this frustrating issue the car drives really well. I hope a key fob comes out soon.

Building a new house soon. Is it worth having a underfloor heated garage?

If we consider money in the bank then yes your right since savings interest rates are so low. However even in a low/moderate risk diversified investment you would average 5% return per annum on average across a 20 year period. So when you consider opportunity costs geothermal does not make sense...

Building a new house soon. Is it worth having a underfloor heated garage?

Actually my initial preferance was to have HVAC powered by geothermal. However geothermal is costing $80k ($40k in extra material and $40 for drilling the wells) more than the next best alternative. Based on the size of the house etc this worked out to a payback period of 20 years which does not...

Building a new house soon. Is it worth having a underfloor heated garage?

So living in Canada we get extreme winters with temperatures as low as -40 celcius so it takes a while for the battery to warm up and this of course uses more range. I am due to start construction of a new house and have the option to heat the garage using hydronic underfloor heating. Of course...

    Braking in rain

I have an S70D and recently after driving for 2 hours in heavy rain my brakes failed to work twice within a period of 4mins after i got off the highway. Thank god the roads were empty. Tesla service checked the brakes and did not find anything abnormal. I am thinking due to regenerative braking...

-25 celcius has eaten 66% of my range

-25 celcius has eaten 66% of my range

Model S 70D So it is -25 celcius (-35 with wind chill). I started out with a cold battery from my garage with 337km rated range. I drove local and highway during the day and the actual range was only 115km. This equates to a range loss of 66%. Driving style was generally slow acceleration due...

WARNING: I rear-ended someone today while using Auto Pilot in my brand new P90D!

Could you have swithed off autopilot without realising? The logs should be able to confirm this.
