Garage smoke detectors and home insurance for home charging.

Yes. I had to install a heat detector n 2019, but it was regardless of electric car use or charging. It was required back then and likely randomly required by various insurance companies.

    FSD now $99 a month

Not super happy for myself. Happy for latecomers I guess. I've had a model x with AP1 which was forgotten and two FSD cars. It appears I bought tickets to Mars for future passengers...

M3 HV won’t charge [car bought at auction]

I used a Black and Decker BC25BD to run a Model S computer with a defective DCDC converter, and it worked quite well so it might run enough of the components in the M3. That said, I would as others have said, I would in your case, disconnect the 12 V from the car and just try to charge it...

    FSD Camera upgrade - charge?

Not similar at all really. Tesla sold FSD as a promise of technology with a promise to upgrade if needed. Your box PC was sold once and everyone involved in the sale walked away and made no promises that future software or hardware would exist for your computer.

    FSD Camera upgrade - charge?

I would push back too. It's only $40. They charges us a lot and still haven't delivered FSD fully even in Beta. They can eat it.

Model Y-Small dent on lift gate

Definitely worth finding a highly rated paintless dent repair person nearby. They are usually mobile and can meet on site, estimate, and perform the work (tamping/pulling/etc). It may not be perfect but it may end up very close. One other issue is that insurance may not pay this route and if...

    2025 Roadster per Elon

Still waiting on my Sig S lighted vanity mirrors and rear seat lighting 11+ years later ... The new roadster is even farther behind than the 2010 err 2012 S in terms of prototype to actual release.

Burning 25ft 10/3 cords using my mobile connector in the rain with a 120v outside GFCI outlet

Lower the amps by 10%. Check your outlet with an outlet tester. It may not be grounded or wired properly. Check your GFCI. If not installed or working, add one at that outlet. Use an outside box to seal the connection and to store your Mobile Charger like this one...

Burning 25ft 10/3 cords using my mobile connector in the rain with a 120v outside GFCI outlet

That's assuming it is a quality cable and not a "10 gauge" cable that is really a 14 gauge cable due to quality.

    Roadster 2023

He has been saying to support nuclear power for years. It's all coming together... More seriously, I hope they take some cues from the McMurtry Speirling Fan Car for downforce generation to make 0-60 and 0-100 safe and amazing. Sadly, tires won't be very durable unless that tech improves too...

    Roadster 2023

Just don't hit 88 in the new 2020 roadster (with radicial new design goals) as that action will send you to 1985, and there are no charging stations there except level 1 and some 30 amp dryer plugs. Seeing as how it will take time travel to release the car on time so why not just build it in.

Stranded 1000 miles from home - MS Battery replacement

Roadside has limited access to all the data in my experience. I had a loaner that wasn't working properly, and they could barely help because they only saw very limited data and clearly not all the data available to an SC. I've also been in an SC and had to remind them about my warranty and...

Tesla refusing to work on my car

Check to see if there has been a salvage report on the car, major accident on a carfax equivalent in the UK. If no salvage / not written off financially, I suspect it would be more likely to pass inspection but no guarantees.

I replaced my own battery heater

If your part was a F and the service centered wanted to use a K but the current Tesla's use a M, I would favor trying F-K parts but not a L or M as something probably changed at L hence the reason Tesla favors the K over a newer one that might not be compatible. The advantage to choosing a K...

    Today's Roadster Orphan

Very beautiful car but don't fall for it as a US customer unless you plan on storing it for over a decade. "S" VIN means made in the UK, not the US. It won't be eligible for import until 2036 after the 25 year rule has elapsed. Might still be a good investment but hard to say what 12 years of...
