For what it's worth, I just got a text a few minutes ago with a delivery date and (for the first time) a VIN, so there may be some reason for optimism! Elon has tempted me before with a cancelled delivery date at the end of Q3, but I'm hoping the end of October may come through!

After a cancelled delivery date on Sept. 29th, I just received a new delivery date of Oct. 27th (for the first time, with an associated VIN!). This is for a metallic silver AWD (non-performance), black interior, 19" wheels. Reserved 8/2017, configured 6/30/2018. Not holding my breath, but...

The ability to order it as a "special order" with an upcharge supposedly closed 10 days after they announced that the obsidian black and metallic silver were being discontinued (over a month ago), so I don't think you can order it still (even paying extra). If Tesla's history holds, though...

My backdoor edit link stopped working this weekend--I was hoping this meant that a VIN might be forthcoming (configured 6/30, so waiting >3 months already), but I wonder if they just shut the backdoor for everyone.

Uggh! That sucks--so sorry. I don't understand what the delay is in getting these silver AWD cars to Atlanta, since they supposedly were expediting the production of all the remaining metallic silver M3. If Tesla would have been honest about the lack of availability of these discontinued...

I have the identical configuration--we are car twins ;) ! Also scheduled for delivery on the 29th, but they called and cancelled the night before. Still no VIN or delivery date for me yet, but hopefully it will be coming soon (configured on 6/30, reserved 8/7/17).

Still waiting in Atlanta for a silver AWD (non-P) EAP Black interior 19" wheels. I had a delivery appointment on Sept. 29th, but then they called the night before and cancelled it. No VIN, no new delivery date. My Tesla account has been changed back to Sept-Nov. estimated delivery.
