Yes. That is my understanding. With HW3.0 and MCU1, I get dashcam for front and side cameras. No playback in the car. Upgrade to MCU2, also get recording of rear camera and playback in the car.

Do you have Full Self Driving Computer? That’s the requirement to have dashcam feature.
