2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

That makes more sense, especially since those tyre sizes have significantly different rolling diameters while 235/35R20 is pretty close to 275/30R20.

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

Watching the Autotrader review Rory said something odd about the staggered wheels that I have not been able to gainsay or confirm: He said that the tyres are 235/35R19 at the front and 275/30R20 rear, which is not what I expected at all. Has anyone seen any other concrete data on this or did...

    Chargepoint in Australia (Closed 31/01/2024)

This is not a custom shell by the way, this is just how the new Schneider units are setup. The inside unit can be mounted on a wall, or the upper metal enclosure, which includes a junction box and other hookup hardware can be mounted on a post, or the whole unit with the bottom pillar can be...

Refreshing Model 3 Suspension that has alignment issues

I have a 2019 Tesla Model 3 Performance (Fremont manufacture) with 101000 km on it. For at least the last 50000km I have noticed that the alignment tends to slip quicker and quicker, to the point where as an experiment I had an alignment just before Christmas and then another one today, less...

    Charging Adaptors 101

Absolutely, but those areas tend to have formal charging infrastructure :p

    Charging Adaptors 101

As long as you realise that this will still only charge your car at 32A single phase and that many outback sites will not be happy with you dumping 32A on just one phase of their already-stressed generator. This is why I never really use my UMC, preferring an aftermarket 3-phase instead.

The longest EV charging network in West Australia

So, I thought that I would drop photos of the first three WAEV charge sites when heading in from NT. This is Kununurra. I was the first person to charge here as far as I know. Oddly, the AC charger was not turned on. This is Warmun Roadhouse. The DC was not yet commissioned, but the AC was...

    Supercharger - Calliope, Qld

Possibly, but not really needed. This will be one of the easiest Superchargers in Australia to find. Drive in the main entrance off the Bruce Highway and it is right there.

    Supercharger - Calliope, Qld

Popped in today as I was passing through. Spoke to the workers. Power is on to the site, and charger construction will be finished today. There are some civils to be completed such as an extra slab and some final surfacing.

    Supercharger - Abbotsford, Vic

Visited the charger today after an IKEA trip. The entrance to The Hive is a diabolical rim scraper and very tight indeed. The chargers are on the left pretty much instantly and are in the format of two x two bays back to back.

Please do not post referral links (Australia\NZ Forum)

Is it known whether an existing customer can refer themselves when buying stuff? I did this when I bought my Model 3 back in 2019 since I had already been a Tesla Powerwall customer for a couple of years at the time.

    evse chargers questions

I have had a V2 HPWC with 7m cable working perfectly since late 2019 and don't take particular care of it other than to keep the handle off the ground. I also have a JetCharge BYO unit that I got as part of a grid trial for a few years and it also works perfectly. I don't think that I have ever...

    Charging Adaptors 101

Keep in mind that it is not hard to attach a small tail with whatever plug you have available to a Tesla HPWC which makes it super easy to move it from place to place without needing an electrician to do anything for you. You can also change the tail to 10A, 15A, 32A single or three phase. If...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

True, although it also will limit damage when you run the cable over. Another thing to consider is where the resistance in the cable is concentrated. Poor terminals or termination of the wire leads to the cable melting into a heap as shown by @Candleflame above!

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

I got mine (20m long) from EEC and actually bought a 15A extension cable and a 10-15A caravan adapter made by Amphibian. This means that I can confidently use it anywhere and for any purpose and never worry about voltage drop. They use high quality cable with industrial insulation and...
