    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

I'm presuming this is sarcasm, since the current M3P also has a 162 mph top speed.... I mean, it's not bad, but it's no actual improvement. Also, no EV is likely to have any sort of top-speed bragging rights for quite some time, if ever...

    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

I hafta say that the LAST thing I’d like to see is any sort of special, must-be-activated “Launch Mode”. One of my favorite aspects of the Model 3 Peformance is that full power is available nearly all the time. Simply modifying the motor control software to enable a quicker ramp to full power...

My first 2 weeks in a Model 3 Highland (RWD UK)

    Nice - enjoy!

    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

I just saw a Model 3 Highland Performance in semi-camo on the street in LaQuinta, CA! The wheels and red calipers were clearly visible, as was the diffuser. Had camo on the rear quarter panels and trunk/bumper, plus some on the front bumper, but none on the doors or hood. Unfortunately, it...

It that were him, he'd have bough a NEW Plaid, right, and he wouldn't have complained about the huge loss he took??

Nice that financial concerns aren't a thing for you...

    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

I gotta say, I'm expecting it to be tough for me to decide between a new 3P and a used Plaid...

    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

Thank you for proving my point. (creating races so that the V-8 RWD doesn't lose). Would you like to compare dig/drag race results? I start from stoplights multiple times every day. The last time I was over 120 mph on the street was literally MONTHS ago.

    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

The M3P is quicker to every increment up to 120 mph, and well past 1/4 mile unless the race begins at >70 mph. I'll take that every day and twice on Sunday, regardless of what happens above 125 mph...

    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

Hey, if you have verified test results that refute the 60-120 mph claim I made, please by all means post them. Even funnier, even if the race were 1/2 mile from a dig, the Mustang never catches the M3P.

    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

Look again - it’s 60mph to 1/2 mile, and the M3P is ahead for most of the run.

    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

So wait, a tuned car on drag radials and E85 is faster than an M3P?!? No way!!! And. 700+HP Hellcat is faster than a 500HP M3P?? No way!! /S The amount of time people spend setting up scenarios where high-HP RWD cars DON’T lose races to stock EVs is the truly funny part.

It shows the Mustang passing the M3P at about 125 mph, just as I said. What's also interesting is the pass doesn't happen until the cars have traveled well more than 1/4 mile, so again, unless roll-racing at 3 am in "Mexico", the M3P will be ahead.

Yes, it will from 60-120. Mustang would pass the M3P around 125 mph, but even at 130 mph the cars would be maybe 1/2 car length apart....
