    Gigafactory locations and products

No...I’m not sure if it would work out as I calculated but it should not be too far out given the fuel consumption of today's harvesters is accurate. But I do believe it is feasible and likely practical...it needs to be demonstrated. However, a semi weighs 80,000 lbs and has perhaps 14 or more...

Given that a harvester uses approximately 13.5 gallons of diesel fuel per hour with an efficiency of 20%, you would need about10 kwh in battery power every hour or 200 kWh for 20 hour day. Converting Inefficient hydraulic systems into electric drives would lessen energy requirements. You would...

Prediction Thread - "You Called It"

Tks for your response. The advantages of the PMAC mortor in the slide presentation are clear. I am not an expert in this electric motor business but is the slide presentation for a reluctance PMAC? If not, wouldn't a reluctance motor be even more efficient and provide more range?

Prediction Thread - "You Called It"

I came across this statement concerning high efficiency permanent magnet motors using reluctance technology which seems to be the best technology. They are limited to about 200 hp. That means the S and X would have to use three motors to match induction motor performance. That might explain...
