No, it's not a luxury car, at least not in Colorado.

Update: The Colorado PUC has granted a waiver for a Tesla limo license. This is a one time one person waiver. It is not a rule change which means Tesla is still not an "executive car" in Colorado.

You're welcome- I'm still digging and with this quote from the Colorado DMV "Fees are established by the legislature or promulgated in rule." it seems there is nothing to stop a new rule being written by a commission to charge more for luxury cars (beyond the % of purchase/list price) but that...

Driving the Model S for Uber + Lyft

No complaints about the rear seat. AC has yet to be an issue in Colorado as it snowed last night.

Driving the Model S for Uber + Lyft

Here's the list of approved vehicles- and only those on the list. A BMW 3 series with 4 doors would likely qualify as a sedan manufactured by BMW (I have a 1988 325ix which is still eating road for breakfast- love it) (A)a sedan, crossover, or sport utility vehicle manufactured by: Acura...

Sure.... all nice cars Chrysler 300, Hyundai Equus, Saab 9-5, Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, Ford Excursion, Ford Expedition, GMC Yukon, Hummer However my best guess as to why it's those cars and not a Tesla - and mind you it's only a guess- only an opinion- no proof- all conjecture- is...

Driving the Model S for Uber + Lyft

I'm trying to Uber my Model S in Colorado but I've run into a major problem- Tesla isn't on the list of manufacturers for a limo license. To up to UberBlack (no UberSelect available in my area) I need the limo license and that takes a rule change at the State level. I need some petition...

According to the regs a Hyundai is a luxury vehicle and a Tesla isn't. Seriously? The only specification in the Colorado rule is cup holders which are part of the car's original manufacture- and the S qualifies with 2 cup holders in the console. Interestingly my 1988 325ix has no cup holders...

Come to the West Slope- so far they're always available in Silverthorne, Glenwood and Junction. Seriously, I'm upgrading my home solar system to support the amount of driving I do as a livery service so you have nothing to worry about. According to Plugshare there are over 20 charging stations...
