With your permission, I share a little bit of this very special day: Bonnie Norman on Twitter
tl:dr: He took delivery of his Model 3 today.
I bought in under $30. I've had CFOs tell me to sell TSLA when it hit $50, $85, $100, etc. They looked at the numbers and thought I was nuts for sticking with it. Now, they own TSLA, too. :)
You cannot just look at the numbers. Well, you can, but I think that's missing the bigger picture. I bought in because I saw something different than I'd...
Report from Freemont on Model 3 Production line 5/13/2018 (midday):
* 4290- Last 7 days production of M3

The last line shutdown/retooling had a significant improvement on the speed of the M3 line. Everything is working in conjunction like intended and no bottlenecks anywhere. The upcoming May line shutdown...
My contribution to Q2 revenue is complete.
Suppose I should pimp my own pics here too! My deep blue metallic out for a morning photo shoot!
I saw my first model 3 in the flesh today, and my heart is still palpitating!
We drove from LA area to Fresno to spend a holiday weekend with relatives. We drove back on 99/5 this afternoon and just returned home. As we were in the vicinity of the Tejon SC, my wife said she needs a comfort stop. YES, YES, YES, my opportunity to ogle Teslas!...
Also, my younger daughter, who was killed in the crash, was 10 years old, and about to start 6th grade in middle school next Monday.
Mission accomplished, Tesla. Well done.
I got a chance to look at definition files for a new set of vision NNs which I understand to be the ones which are going out in 2018.10.4. I’m going to summarize the differences here. For background on what I found in earlier networks (2017.28, 2017.34, and 2017.44) please see this post from last November: Neural Networks
2018 (and 2019, and 2020, and 2021, etc) will be a time of rapidly increasing revenue for Tesla.
100k Model S/X is roughly $10B.
How many Model 3s will be delivered this year?
Let's assume the following:
1250/week in Q1 (12 weeks) = 15,000
2500/week in Q2 (12 weeks) = 30,000
4500/week in Q3 (12 weeks) = 54,000
5500/week in Q4 (12 weeks) =...
And that is exactly the litmus test. I had to switch from windows/linux laptops to a macbook to understand why apple was worth much more in the near future, just the iphone alone didnt even convince me back then. But I still made significant profit from it and paid for all apple devices with stock gains and diversified into other stocks, too....
Something I do from time to time is compare articles and press coverage of Tesla to other periods of time in its history. The google news search function makes this pretty easy to do. Few interesting things I noticed...
The amount of bankruptcy talk now versus any time in the past 5 years. This is a new phenomenon as of late that I think...
Here's a data point for Monday: After 7 days of ownership with my Model 3: zero problems of any sort, and 670 miles driven (equivalent of 35,000 miles/year). Yes, the car really is that fun to drive. By far the best vehicle I've ever owned.
I refer to this post, on July 6th, 2016 as an example: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/demand.70560/page-8#post-1618055, where 'X Yes?' wrote the following:
"Demand is the major challenge Tesla faces until the Model 3 arrives. Comments on this thread Model X inventory car purchase seem to indicate the "Osborne Effect" has begun....
Elon just tweeted this:
Elon utterly smacking down the GS analyst who thinks he can stump him on physics with a dumb LIDAR comment gave me pleasure.
Hi All! First post on this forum. Took delivery of my Model 3 (long range, premium upgrades, pearl white) back in October and I've been loving it. This is my first brand new car and also the first that I can't really do crazy mods to (I'm used to engine swaps, EV conversions, etc).
This is the first car where I'm basically limited to cosmetic...
The thing is we (humanity) either move to a sustainable clean energy future ...or kill ourselves.
It really is that simple. The time frame may be up for debate but the outcome is not.
Dirty energy resources that raise global temperatures inevitably lead to more conflict.
The Tesla I bought cost more that the last four cars I bought combined....
