Yes, you read that title correctly. I took delivery of my M3P on 12/28/18 and in my view of the world, Tesla has already given me MORE than I paid for. Specifically as of the middle of this coming week I will have gotten: 1. A 5% increase in power; 2. 3 extra months of free supercharging (I was supposed to get 6 and they credited me with...
It happened last Friday afternoon when I drove to Pocono for the weekend. I was on Autopilot driving eastbound on I-78 (a 2-lane divided highway with grass median) near Allentown, a normal traffic flow at 65-70 mph on a 55mph zone. All of a sudden, my MX braked very hard with some rapid beeping sounds, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee in front of me...
It was not. Apologize, and take her for a ride followed by a nice lunch.
Like many others, I have been concerned with loss of 100% indicated battery range on one of my Model 3s. My P3D (build date 9/13/2018, delivery date 10/8/2018) had gotten down to 270.3 miles at 100% charge on January 20, 2020, at about 30,700 miles, which is a loss of 40.8 miles since the car was new. I posted about going to the service...
In Elon's defense: Elon's motivation was to give something to new Performance owners now that Tesla is wildly profitable, free unlimited Supercharging was internally expensed at about $3,000, so a it's a pretty high value option, and if you use it frequently it can be worth over $10,000 for the lifetime of the vehicle, even if you don't make...
Can we have a moment of appreciation for @Fact Checking ? Unless I'm mistaken, s/he's here from just August the 3rd, and already has written hundreds of posts, one more informative than the other. Until this forum will keep attracting people like her/him, we'll be fine (and probably rich, someday ;-).
I finally got the full Tesla Model 3 experience by way of a Turo rental. For anyone in the greater Denver area, I simply can't recommend this method enough for getting enough time behind the wheel to make a decision on such a big purchase. PM me if you want contact details and I'll provide them. My family and I got to enjoy an entire day...
So I've heard these stories about crazy service centers. I showed up to get warranty work expecting craziness. What I did not expect were Model 3 owners seemingly throwing tantrums at the extremely patient Tesla staff. They had about 6 or 7 temp workers directing traffic and moving cars. They were standing outside in the rain in 33F degree...
I've been staying out of this until now, but I would like to point out that wk057's information from the BMS is correct. Each car's BMS is constantly calculating it's real capacity and it's visible right there in the diagnostic screen. This is also why Tesla does not (willingly) give us access to this information. Also, if you compare...
I've loved my S85, but when Tesla with no explanation or notice capped my supercharging speed to less than half the former speed with a software update almost a year ago as has been done to most if not all older cars. that was it for me. My car is now a city car. Long trips are not practical when it takes 90+ minutes to supercharge. My car only...
I am a day one, online reservationist. I was waiting for the model 3SR. BUT, the model 3MR really fits my needs better and I am now guarantied the full tax credit. I placed my order tonight: 3MR, 18" aeros, basic black, PUP, wht. int., EAP = $51K Delivery in 4-6 weeks (I expect 4 weeks, but hope it is 6 weeks due to vacation plans) Delivery...
Brakes are normal hydraulic power brakes, if the driver stomps the brake, they clamp down like any other car. On top of that, this car, unlike most gas cars, electronically cuts power the instant the brake is touched even if the accelerator is pressed. Try it. The brakes can easily overpower the motors. See youtube videos of super cars being...
Great thanks for the many kind words of support from fellow TMC members, both within this message board and on Twitter over the past 24 hours. You folks are the good ones, the righteous ones.
My daily commute is 40 miles round trip and in the past five years I had been driving a Infiniti G37x over 50k miles. I'm a bit impatient on the highway and most time I'm over 80mph on the left lane. Not surprisingly I got one speeding ticket every year or two and frankly I deserve it. Even worse, I'm also easily distracted when driving on...
Its one of the seven deadly sins, however that's what happen this weekend at a Mercedes Benz dealership with one of its dealers. Back story, my mom drives a C-Class and it was time for her to refresh her lease. As usual she invites me (master negotiator) to broker the deal between her and her dealer. This dealership is the main showroom in...
We’re on a 2,000 mile road trip, and it has basically been wonderful, with Tesla Superchargers used for virtually every stop. We wanted to do one destination stay at the Mariott in Salt Lake City, which has 2 Tesla chargers. We called ahead, but they couldn’t confirm their availability, so we stopped to check. Luckily, we didn’t get our room...
So I drove from Los Altos CA to Portland OR on Tuesday, a drive of over 650miles. My thoughts: (1) ICE cars are so screwed. The entire negative story about EV’s is that their long re-charging times and range limitations make them impracticle for long trips. But, I drove this trip in a Tesla in about the same time I used to drive it in ICE...
So... it is exactly one year later, would you like to give us cheerleaders an update on the impending doom of Tesla due to the Model 3 production?
There is a lot of speculation that Autopilot 2.0 is imminent--perhaps coming within a quarter or two. There's also a lot of speculation that Autopilot 2.0 will be capable of level 4 autonomy. I'm going to put myself out there and say: Not a chance. I should "color" this opinion, as the financial analysts like to put it, by stating that: I am...
YOU'D GET A LOT BETTER RESPONSES if you wouldn't shout. All caps is considered a rude, and very annoying, way of posting
