Now that´s good PR! How popular is Consumer Reports in the US?

After thinking about that I guess that might be a way of making fun of Elon‘s earlier way-too-optimistic prediction for FSD to be completed-still quite misleading.

It is just about a single supplier who will cut his supply by 30%. The article infers from that that Giga Shanghai is cutting production by 30%, too. Could be, could also be that they are replacing the parts with those from a different supplier. This is the translation of the source cited in...

So according to @mongo here, we have to make this That as of April 4th they had produced delivered 3,878 Cybertrucks, correct? That would fit much better with @Troy ´s VIN plot which pointed to almost 5000 VINs assigned as of March 26.

Maybe nitpicking, but in Q1 the deliveries didn´t slow down, they only did not accelerate as much toward the end of the quarter as we are used to. So less of a delivery wave as was planned for a long time. That said, they had enough cars to sell even more, so if the demand had been there, they...

But note that on the other hand, robotaxi market will be only US for a while. So would make perfect sense to use the same car for robotaxi (US) and small car (rest of the world).

Small (in the global scope of the turmoil in the Teslaverse) good news item for Giga Berlin: The water utility had threatened to not dispose of their waste water any more because they exceed the limits for certain substances. The concerned the municipalities that control it now voted to continue...

Troy also posted a VIN chart which supported 1000/week, see above: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/tesla-tsla-the-investment-world-the-perpetual-investors-roundtable.139047/page-22610#post-8192065 Hope he´ll update that now that production is back up again.

Should have listened to the Andre Thierig (Giga Berlin plant manager) interview before - very informative! switch on the youtube auto translation subtitles, works pretty good. This is of Feb 29 2024, but he says they are still ramping (!)

True, but there have been some hints lately that there is some level of battery cell production in Berlin now: Andre Thierig, the plant manager of Giga Berlin said this in an interview: "We´re just starting with battery cell production" Jordan´s (TheLimitingFactor) take from this is they are...

Not all factors are under Tesla´s control - demand went down without Tesla chaning anything (also for other EVs). At one point it will come back, people can delay buying a new car for a while but at some time they need it. Question is just when IMHO.

Maybe it´s just an Elon4d chess move: introduce it as Robotaxi, everyone will say: I want that as a regular car! And when the production lines are ready: voila, they are also making manual drive cars. Osborning avoided.

I feel similar, but Tesla will continue to build non-robotaxi cars and demand will come back. Think about how many cars in the world are still ICE, who will replace them with EVs? Only the Chinese manufacturers? Or do you believe ICE are here to stay after all? If Elon thinks demand won´t come...

IIRC Tesla has done that regularly to get rid of some people that don´t fit so well, only to employ new ones a while later. Could be that being interpreted as a more problematic scenario..

This is just a single week, doesn´t make a trend. One possible reason: https://cnevpost.com/2024/04/09/china-ev-sales-for-week-ending-apr-7/ Note that NEVs does include hybrids, so can´t really compare the BYD number to Tesla´s.
