    VMS Fflash replacement

Just FYI, if you have flash going out, you can pull the flash ic, dump it, then reflash to new one and then solder back in. From what I can tell the flash isn't written very often, mostly it's just logs, and it's filesystem i think uses wear-leveling.

    5YJRE11B681000254 on ebay.

In case someone was curious, 5YJRE11B681000254 - 2010-01-22 - Cause of loss: Collision So if the ESS shunt wasn't pulled at time of accident, ESS is going to be dead as doorknob. Also this has upper arm ripped out, so there is tub damage, this to me is not "minor accident"

    Maybe loose brake pad?

Anyone encounter this type of noise? The noise changes with speed, and if I even tap the breaks very lightly the noise disappears. Sometimes after breaking the noise will stop completely but as soon as I hit a small bump in the road the rattling noise comes back.

Battery Heater ~1000 watts and thermal camera photo.

For the first time I've seen the battery heater kick on. Here some pics and info I learned in case people were curious. When I first started the charge, I noticed it was drawing 8 Amps & 120v, display says it was doing battery heating. After about ~15-20mins it switched to normal charging and...

    Auction - Roadster 2.5 - Vin #1261 - Salvage

I'm thinking about bidding on this 2.5 just for it's ESS (yes I know it's an 2.5 and not 1.5) but I have a plan for it. Anyone else interested in the other parts and could give me their lowest they would pay for it? It would give me an idea of how high my max bid should be. I took at look at...

If anyone picks up this 1.5 roaster for parts I'll be willing to buy the dead ESS for $4000 from them. Tesla Roadster Base Convertible 2 Door | eBay BTW I've emailed the seller to let him know to pull the ESS service disconnect to prevent any more draining of the ESS. Or if a few others...

BMB (Battery Managment Board) in ESS power draw.

In case anyone was curious BMB board draws around 0.21 watts each, and with 11 in the ESS, that 2.31 watts that is always in use. Say for 50kwh pack that about ~2.5 years with the service disconnect pulled out before the pack is drained.

How is SOC or range calculated?

    Does anyone know how SOC or range is calculated on the Roadster? My fake sheet (bricks 46-54) has confused the roadster to drop it's range to 17 miles. Voltage SOC Brick 3.91 84.11 1 3.89 82.27 2 3.91 85.15 3 3.93 89.25 4 3.93 90.02 5 3.94 90.74 6 3.94...

Transmission control Module (TCM) for 1.5

Just FYI the TCM for the 1.5 has no active parts in it. It contains a fuse in it, and then passes data through the module. Seems like a waste of weight to have this box if you ask me.
