Drivers power seat stopped working - any suggestions?

Probably not, since Tesla doesn’t sell the parts. Aren’t you under warranty anyway?

Drivers power seat stopped working - any suggestions?

These were the 2 parts replaced: Switch seat 1007271-00-A $54 MSM DR (Memory Seat Module)(1011838-00-H) $255

Drivers power seat stopped working - any suggestions?

So after waiting 1 month to get the seat fixed, here is what transpired: I get an estimate a few days before, it was to replace the switch seat for approximately $350. I'm not sure if there anything else on the estimate, I printed it out but shredded it later not realizing the documents in the...

Drivers power seat stopped working - any suggestions?

That's what I was thinking as well, but I can't even call someone to speak to! Calling my local Tesla dealer sends me to the central Tesla support number with no option to speak to anyone. Frustrating to say the least. I've had the mobile service come to my house to replace the 12v battery...

I guess I shouldn't complain in that sense, I'm about 10 minutes away. Beautiful dog by the way!

Drivers power seat stopped working - any suggestions?

Not loving my Tesla these days, Feb 8th appointment is so far away, luckily I have a 2nd car. And now my car is taking longer and longer to start up and the MCU went black a few times while I'm driving. When that happens, no signals, no heat, no back camera. Seriously thinking of going back to...

Drivers power seat stopped working - any suggestions?

I did a few searches, but didn't see any conversations about seats. I wouldn't mind trying to replace by myself, I'll have to look into it and see how involved it is to replace.
  8. Gizmo17

Drivers power seat stopped working - any suggestions?

Would it make a clicking sound, like its trying to activate, if it was broken? It does this when I press forward or back and the screen asks if I want to update my profile with this new setting, just no movement in the seat.

Drivers power seat stopped working - any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply, no, it doesn't move forward or back when changing to my wife's profile or the easy entry. That's how we first discovered it wasn't working, as with my wife's profile, the seat is much closer. There are many plugs underneath, but they all seem snug. I setup an appointment...

Drivers power seat stopped working - any suggestions?

So today, my 2016 Model S drivers side power seat stopped working (forward and back functions). When the button is pressed, I hear something click, but no movement. All the other movements, up down, tilt etc work fine. The passengers seat works fine also. I tried resetting the main screen, but...

Rear roof glass repairs - Safelite or Tesla?

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. I’ll try calling Safelite to see if they use OEM or aftermarket. If it’s aftermarket, I’ll take it to Tesla. Live and learn...don’t put anything on top of rear trunk lid!
  14. Gizmo17

Rear roof glass repairs - Safelite or Tesla?

Thanks, that’s what I’m afraid of. I tried searching the forums to see what people say about Safelite, in general. Seems like their quality is hit or miss. One thread talked about wavy glass. Not going to be happy if there are defects I can see.

Thanks for sharing your experience, why/how does that even happen?! All the do is glass!

Rear roof glass repairs - Safelite or Tesla?

The other day, while washing my other car, I left 2 wheel detailing brushes on the trunk lid. A family member opened trunk to put something in, closed it and the top window cracked. About a quarter sized crack, ouch! I contacted insurance, since it’s not the windshield, it’s subject to the $500...

    Programming trunk height

Sure enough, powering down didn’t do anything to help the issue. I guess I’ll have to wait for the service appointment. Wish they would’ve fixed this when they replaced the strut. Now I have to rearrange my work schedule so they can fix something that shouldn’t have happened.
  18. Gizmo17

    Programming trunk height

Thanks for the info, I’ll try powering down anyway, but I know not to get my hopes up. I’ve already made an appointment through the app, but I was hoping I would be able to resolve it so I don’t have to rearrange my schedule.

    Programming trunk height

Thanks for the tips, I didn't realize they had a chat option. I got someone on chat and they suggested power cycling the car also. I've reboots the dash screens, but I don't think I've ever rebooted the car. It even sounds a bit weird. LOL Hopefully it'll fix my issue, will try tonight when I...

    Programming trunk height

I recently took my MS to Tesla to have them replace one of the struts supporting it. When I picked up the car, I didn’t notice it wasn’t opening to the full height. I figured easy enough, I opened it, when it stopped (at a height I would surely bump my head, I pushed it up higher, pressed and...

    Brake and caliper cleaning

I just scheduled my first annual service appointment and was asked if I wanted the brake service. It seems the rate is going up, she quoted me $175. I found an old message here from Nov 16 and they were quoted $75. While there is snow and salt on the roads here in NJ, I don't take it out in the...

BlackVue DS650-S 2 Channel Tesla Model S Install Walkthrough Video

How did you end up getting the tip to pass through to the camera? I had the same problem, once it got wire through the boot, I couldn't get it to the area where I mounted the camera. Finally gave up and have the cable exposed 2" straddling the headliner to the trunk lid. I didn't realize cutting...

They ordered a special paint from Fremont and will paint the metal bumper underneath. Apparently it's out of stock. Maybe they missed a lot of cars! :(

Be honest: is SCing on a long trip annoying?

Nice, so if I had bought a 90D, it would've only saved me an hour! LOL!

Be honest: is SCing on a long trip annoying?

That's what we did, charge enough to make it to the next charger with around 15% buffer. This took anywhere from 15-40 minutes. Yes, I'd agree, with an 85 or 90, we could've skipped some chargers.

Water leaked inside when driving through rain - known issue?

I've washed the car several times, been through rain, not as heavy as the one I went through last week though, with no problems. I don't think it's he AC drain, car was fine all the way to FL from NJ. It's only got 3k miles also.

Water leaked inside when driving through rain - known issue?

Not on the floor matt, but the carpet underneath it and only on the passenger side. I didn't see any other signs of water in the areas you mentioned, but I did notice some moisture on the door sill, but didn't think much of it. :-(

Water leaked inside when driving through rain - known issue?

On my way back from a road trip, I noticed the front passenger carpet very wet (underneath my Tesla rubber matts). At first, I thought I tracked in water from walking in the rain. But upon further investigation, it was very soaked. I drove through some heavy rain while in GA, I think somehow the...

Be honest: is SCing on a long trip annoying?

I just got back from my trip from NJ to Orlando with the kids. As much as I love my MS and Tesla, I have to say it's a bit of a pain/hassle. We had to stop at 9 chargers before reaching Orlando (vs. prob 3 times in an ICE). The staops ranged from 15 mins to 40 minsutes. We stretched our legs...

Blackvue 650 2 ch cloud questions

Thanks for the reply. Maybe I'll try moving it up closer to the Ezpass tag area. Where I have my EZ pass has worked fine so far, if you need a spot for Ezpass, put it where I have it in the photo, (upside down - didn't work right side up). I've crossed NJ turnpike, Garden state parkway, NY/NJ...

For those of you that have the BlackVue 650 installed in the MS AND can get GPS signal, what year is your car and where did you mount your blackvue? I early 2016, mounted camera under the rear view mirror but can't get a signal.

    Tesla Supplies

Thanks for the info, I've plugged a few tires successfully using the plug kit, usually from a nail or screw. Anything bigger, if leave it to the pros. Yeah, so maybe a fix a flat kit would be best, if that doesn't work, Tesla service or AAA like you said.
  42. Gizmo17

    Tesla Supplies

Thanks, maybe I'll just get the fix a flat and sealant to leave in the frunk. If that doesn't work, call the service number.

But if you're jacking up the car, you're not lifting the entire car, do you need a 5000 lb jack? So those of you that keep a tire plug kit in the car, I assume you also keep a jack and wrench in the car to remove the tire to fix? Just curious, I'm not sure what I'd need for my road trip, just a...

    Rust...anybody seen this?

My car had the same orange spotting/residue by the front right fog light area. I first noticed it about week after I picked up the car (Feb 16). Initially, I just washed it and didn't think too much of it. But recently it came back, so I dropped it off with Tesla to check out. I'll let you know...

    Updated Swag Thread

When I picked up in February, I got what most got, a bag with black Tesla mug, calendar, pen, umbrella and a pin. Was hoping for a cap or something. Oh and the keys came with leather covers that look nice, but I don't find very useful. I usually have to take out the key to press the trunk or...

Thanks for the heads up. I've plugged tires before, but when I picked up my car, the delivery specialist said not to plug these tires. Not sure if that's BS or not. Plugging would also involve jacking up the car and removing a tire. I haven't purchased a jack yet, is there something special to...

    Back to an ICE car

Haha, I felt the same way when I had to drive my 09' Odyssey, I felt like I was driving a refrigerator box! It's roomy, almost an inefficient waste of space....ugly buttons all over the dashboard, load, numb steering, loud car and engine. The S has spoiled me, hard to drive ICE cars without...
