    Daily charging: Yo-Yo vs Min-to-Max?

Sometimes I leave and come back to the house multiple times throughout the day. So my SOC will be something like this if I didn't plug in once I got back: 80->60, 60->56, 56->40. Or some such combo. I've never been in danger of getting below 20% fwiw. Would you plug in as often as you can on...

Ya'll got any more of them 48 amps?

:D The guy who I used his referral back in the day sent me his HPWC, I just had to cover shipping. Cha ching. When you finally get off your lazy butt and order all the necessary stuff 13 months later and your THHN 6 gauge arrives but can't wait till the weekend to do the proper install so...

    6 gauge splitter options?

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on some 6awg THHN to make a run from my main panel in my side garage, thru the attic, and then down to my Tesla garage stall. The wire will all be run in conduit in the attic. Instead of doing a straight connection from Panel to HPWC I'm thinking of having a...

PSA - Brake Parts Cleaner strips the gray coating on the performance rotors

I'm prepping my rotor hats for some gloss black POR-15. I had already hit them with Optimum Power Cleaner, a paint safe all purpose cleaner / de-greaser, at full strength a couple times. Then some engine de-greaser. They took it like a champ, still had some brake dust on them that wasn't coming...

Bent Rim / Busted tired club. Add me to the list

:mad::mad: Going ~25mph in a construction zone and hit a part of the street they had cut out but back-filled with gravel temporarily. Hit the edge of the cut pretty hard. 1 tire bubbled sidewall, still held pressure. 1 tire gashed sidewall, instant loss of pressure. Both rims had...

Electricians: Code question on a THHN #6 bend for a rear HPWC hookup?

I have a HPWC gathering dust (gifted to me from the guy who's referral I used). Figured I minus whale put it to good use. Here's my conundrum. My OCD won't allow conduit to be visible in my garage, which would allow a top entry into the HPWC. I'll be feeding the #6 from the attic thru the...

How I upgraded from NEMA 5-15 to NEMA 6-20 for $66

Figured I'd document this for anyone else's amusement. A relatively cheap and easy upgrade path (with a few caveats) is to use your existing wiring and simply switch out the breaker to a double pole so it get's both phases of 120v and convert the neutral (white) wire to a hot (black/red) wire...

Charged battery for 6+ hours right up until leaving, still had regen dots?!

Enclosed garage, 52f according to dash thermometer . I scheduled charging to start @ 2am. 245v @ 16a, aka NEMA 6-20. Left @ 8am with 30 min charging left to hit my defined limit (90%). Still have dots. What gives?
