    Charging near Glacier NP?

As much as I love road trips in a Tesla, last summer we left the Tesla at home when we spent a week in Glacier. There are charging options, but none are superchargers and I didn't want to spend any extra time away from the park activities dealing with L2 charging. Last summer was quiet too, so...

I-5 Grants Pass, OR to Springfield, OR ABRP says not a valid route

I wonder if you should check your ABRP settings for reference consumption, speed, extra weight, etc. That doesn't sound like too difficult of a gap to cover in a 75D. It is the longest remaining gap on I-5, but I've never come close to not being able to cover it on many trips through that area.

    California Supercharger Locations FAQ

Bruce, great work on this! Very informative. The one item I would suggest is adding some information about using PlugShare to check-in and share information about different locations. I used to find a lot of great information about locations in areas that I don't normally visit from regular...

Supercharger - Monterey, CA (Del Monte Center, LIVE 10 Aug 2017, 10 V2 stalls)

I've been through here several times in the past couple of months and it has been consistently busy. But, I have only once waited 10 minutes to get a stall. It feels like it is operating at just below capacity, so I wouldn't worry about being able to charge. Plenty of good places to eat while...

Tesyota? Is that a thing? What do you make of this report that there could be a partnership with Tesla and Toyota?

The second generation Toyota RAV4 EV (2012-1014) was a joint project between Toyota and Tesla with the battery and powertrain produced by Tesla and shipped to Toyota for assembly in Michigan. It was strictly a "compliance" car sold in California.

    Preventive eMMC replacement on MCU1

Yes, that’s what they told me to prepare for when they started the work but it ended up being done by the end of the day. They didn’t upgrade the firmware to the current version when they finished but that was easy to do at home. It seems like the firmware part of the eMMC replacement process is...

Holiday travel congestion at CA Superchargers; possible solutions, complaints, comments, discussion

Back in August 2017 we were on the final stretch of a 14-day, 3300 mile road trip when we arrived at the Supercharger in Mt. Shasta, CA in the early afternoon. Prior to this, I'd been lucky and never waited more than 5-10 minutes to connect at any Supercharger.... There were 15 cars waiting for...

tesla center display storage device degraded

I upgraded to FW 20.40.9.2 yesterday and got the same warning displayed today. I'm wondering if they added to something to the latest FW to detect the problem proactively. I'll schedule a service visit and see what happens. Maybe they were waiting for parts availability before they started...

Supercharger - Monterey, CA (Del Monte Center, LIVE 10 Aug 2017, 10 V2 stalls)

Was charging here last night and found that they have installed a few extra urban superchargers for the Thanksgiving rush. QuietTrack vs Avid Ascent GT vs PureContact LS tires, which is most efficient+quiet?

No, all of my previous tires did not have the acoustic treatments that some of the OEM tires come with. New tires are usually quieter though, so some of the positive effects are undoubtedly due to the age of the tires. I’m still very happy with the quietracks.

Tires rubbing only when in reverse

Check the alignment again. I've been dealing with this for several months and brought the car back to Tesla today. A senior tech suggested checking the alignment. It was off and, once it was realigned, the problem is fixed.

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

This morning I charged to 95% on a HPWC and disconnected the charging cable. The car continued to make a whirring noise, which I assume is the coolant pumps, and when I returned home 12 hours later the pumps were still running. The battery went from 95% to 90% during that time, so the power loss...

Anyone have experience with Bridgestone Quiettrack tires

I was running Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires on 21" rims and then switched to Michelin Primacies on the 19" rims due to short tire life on the 21's. In my opinion the Bridgestones are equivalent to the Primacies in every category if not better. I won't compare them to the Super Sports which is...

I think they are quieter, but this is not scientific and I'm comparing the sound of the new tires to the sound of the old tires which were worn and possibly louder than they were when new.

I put a set of QuietTracks on the car today. I was considering the Michelins, Pirellis, Yokos and Contis and finally settled on the Bridgestones. A Better Routeplanner

Thanks for the input. We did a road trip on the last holiday weekend and the ABRP plan was underestimating my usage by a large margin. This hasn’t been a problem in the past, so I started looking at what the settings are and trying to figure out what changed. That got me to the consumption...

I've been using ABRP for a couple of years now and loving it, but I'm about to take a trip where I'll really need to get an accurate range estimation for some travel outside of the Supercharger network. That said, does anyone have any recommendations on the most accurate figures to use for...
