Sydney to Cameron Corner (a.k.a. how to break ABRP)

So right. Birdsville 2019 - but they may have been going further....

SA, Vic and NSW proposed EV road user charge

I'll chip in - that's a firm commitment - to at least get an opinion from a constitutional lawyer, with a view to taking it further if seen as a reasonable case.

    Question for P90D Owners

    Oops - I meant a V1 pack

    Question for P90D Owners

2015 nosecone P90D with A pack. When new, 406kms at 100% (252m). Now at 72k kms (44.7k m) 388kms at 100% (241m). This gives 4.4% degradation which is in line with a graph from a much earlier forum topic, saved for reference, copy below.

SA, Vic and NSW proposed EV road user charge

I've just read a really positive article on the Australian SEA EV truck production startup. They have been on trial for some time with Ikea who have reported some success with their use. Having looked through the proposed RUC legislation I cannot find any other EV distance rate other than the...

SA, Vic and NSW proposed EV road user charge

Does anyone understand how the Victorian Government can charge Victorian registered car owners when they are driving in other states? The GST and tax component of petrol purchased in any State surely ends up as a State or Federal collected tax, so how come if a Victorian drives to WA the...

    Birdsville

Hi ZeeDoktor I too had wanted to experience Birdsville for some time, and was considering hiring a suitable vehicle, until I read that ordinary vehicles do successfully travel this route. I have always had the view that anything an ICE vehicle can do, the Tesla can match or better, hence my...

    Birdsville

Regarding the charging locations, as requested I talked to the generous suppliers of the charging facilities used for this trip and can confirm: Birdsville, Cunnamulla, Charleville and Hillston are now on Plugshare. I have donated to Quilpie a 3ph 32a 5 pin switched outlet (as thanks for their...

    Birdsville

Return to Windorah was successful, albeit with a puncture and a headwind. As I was carrying 2 spares the puncture only meant a 25min delay; the headwind resulted in slowing to conserve energy and a total clasped travel time of 9 hrs (including the puncture recovery time). 2 Plugshare additions...

    Birdsville

To answer the above: I will ask the relevant people on the return trip if they would mind going on PlugShare, and add them if they approve. The Tesla is a P90D. My “maximum” range at 100kms/hr without AC is now around 430 kms. It is only a tiny amount more than my original P85 (I have the 90...

    Birdsville

Hi all. Been lurking for 5 years but have not posted in the past. Talking to 2 Melbourne enthusiasts about my current trip, they requested a photo if successful. (“No photo – didn’t happen!”). It has been my most difficult trip in the Tesla. No existing known recharge points North / North West...
