MA state residents... selling car out of state + temp tag issues

I'm really hoping someone can provide some insight on this. I am trying to sell my car to someone who lives out of state, who plans on flying to MA to buy the car and then to drive it back to their home state (Florida). What we are finding is that MA will not issues a temporary license to this...

All cars posted for sale on TMC must use Panjo & -5%?

I wish there was a sticky in the classifieds section or the Teslas for sale section. Is it true that all cars posted for sale on TMC must use Panjo, and that a 5% fee will be deducted? 5% is HUGE. That's the largest amount I've seen on any site to sell a car.

Fee to sell car on eBay motors? Anyone use it recently?

Has anyone used eBay motors recently to sell a car? I'm trying to figure out the total fee expected after selling a car on there. From what I understand, there is a breakdown fee for listing and if the car sells: Fees for selling on eBay Motors But isn't there also a fraction of the...

Realistically, how much is my Model S worth today?

I tried to find an aggregate thread where other people were asking this question, but I couldn't find one. So I thought I'd start a new thread and maybe other owners can use this thread to get advice/feedback on their current value of their Model S. I am hoping for some feedback (maybe from...

electrical buzzing noise when throttle/consumption between 2 and 20kWh?

I don't think I've always had this issue with the car. I've noticed recently that I get some sort of electrical buzzing noise and/or feedback when the throttle is applied and my energy consumption is between 2 and 20kWh on my dashboard. It's not very loud, but if there is no music on it is...

    Excise tax bill in MA?!?

I moved from CA to MA in late 2014, and was shocked to get a bill in the mail from the City of Somerville requesting $1000 for excise tax on my car. To be frank, what the **** is up with this? [Boston] Frank @ Smooth Automotive is great for swapping winter tires

I've seen a bunch of discussion about tire swaps recently with the snow finally ending, so I thought I'd throw out a positive recommendation. When I ordered my winter tires through tire rack, I took a leap of faith and had them shipped to Smooth Automotive in Medford (where no Tesla had been...

Hamilton Supercharger: Horrible Tesla navigation directions going southbound?

Has anyone else found it near impossible to properly hit the Hamilton Supercharger going Southbound on the NJ turnpike? The navigation seems to consistently not give the appropriate directions. It seems like the navigation assumes you are on the "cars & trucks" side of the highway, and if you...

My MA gas and electricity bill seems insanely high? Drove <25 miles

I just moved to MA from CA, and this is the first month I have a "full bill" for electricity and gas, and it seems insanely high. Our heating is gas and we didn't need heat in California, so it's hard for me to "ballpark" how much we are using, but it was 70 therms this month ($100). Our...

Boston metro owners: where do you wash the salt off your car?

Boston metro owners, does anyone know a good place/way to wash/rinse the salt off your car during the winter? Unfortunately I live in a condo-complex where my garage does not have a water faucet OR a drain. I own "no rinse" car wash for the car for this reason, but I would just mar the s***...

I just moved from CA where I had insurance written directly through AAA at $1400 a year. I'm finding insurance on this car is much more challenging in MA. Surprised to see State Farm, Nationwide, and The Hartford all do not write in MA. Funny, when I was in CA everyone said: "oh CA is one of...

Confused about my max range, given my current charge state

I have an 85kWh battery and my car is currently charged to 92%. At that charge, I have 240 miles of rated range. As I understand it, this battery should have 265 miles of rated range at 100%. Would charging that last 8% really take my rated range to 265? The ratio seems off.

No gas makes driving a lot "easy" -- are you concerned about mileage?

Without having to shell out a lot for gas and simply plugging in every night, I've found that it's easy to drive a lot in the car and not think much about it. In my first month, I put almost 2000 miles on the car. High mileage on cars traditionally lowers their resale value. A lot of moving...

did Tesla repaint my front bumper, and do a crappy job about it?

I had my car opticoated and Xpel'ed over this past week. In the process, we noticed something quite funky about my front bumper. It looks like it was repainted, and a relatively crappy job was done about it. It looks like major pieces (e.g., chrome, intake) were taped off, and then it was...
