UK Model Y Order Book Open

My mate wants one of these with the 7 seats. Doesn't look like that's available yet. Any idea if that will be offered any time soon?

    Ceramic Coating and Tints

Most places I looked at do a polish/paint correction before ceramic coating.

    UK Tesla App v4

I've always wondered why there isn't separate buttons for heated rear window and front window. I know the front uses the EVAC but still. Sometimes I just want to de-mist the rear without the full defrost function.

Tesla 3 long range alloy wheel colour

It's Anthracite Grey IIRC. This was recommended as a near perfect match in a thread so I added it to my Amazon list just in case. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B073PY8SWF/?coliid=IXZN2KQFLUU2N&colid=2KYXYRA63Y4ZX&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

    UK Tesla App v4

Hopefully it'll mean you can stream sentry clips to your phone without going out to the car too.

Anyone fitted a charge port light?

I was assuming that the charge flap isn't 100% opaque and that enough ambient light might get through for it to work.

    Advice - potential new owner

It's much softer than my previous Audi A1 which I lowered on springs and 18 inch low profile tyres. That was FIRM. This is much softer, but still ever so slightly firm at times. Not like my mum's Ka which is like being on a bouncy castle!
  8. Nick77

Anyone fitted a charge port light?

Instead of paint, couldn't you just use some glow in the dark stickers and cut out a thin surround for the charging hole, thus guiding you where to plug in?

    small roads question

Yeah I think "Forward Collision Warning" I set to LATE to stop it screaming at me so much.

    small roads question

You can manually disengage autosteer by pushing the right stalk up instead of overriding the steering. That doesn't produce a bong I don't think. Re-engaging it always will though.

    DIY Tesla Key

Stick I in your missus' back pocket and tell her to twerk to open it. Might be a bit high though unless she's 7ft!
  12. Nick77

What did you do to your Tesla Model 3 today?

Looks nice but the cost is too much for me personally. Especially when you can get a much more useful ceramic coating on the whole car for around that price.
  13. Nick77

    DIY Tesla Key

So you can stand there headbutting the door pillar until it opens? :D

Wiki Replacing Tyre with different model/rating?

Not really. Speed ratings are just max recommendations under loads at higher speeds . Unless you're gonna be going 150+ mph it won't make much difference.
  15. Nick77

    DIY Tesla Key

Interesting. I assume the RFID chip stands up to it ok then.
  16. Nick77

    DIY Tesla Key

But did you wirelessly charge with it in there?
  17. Nick77

    DIY Tesla Key

Ignore my suggestion to just try it. Looks like the high power of a wireless charger can cook an RFID chip. https://www.wirelesspowerconsortium.com/data/downloadables/1/8/6/8/05-rfidcarddetection.pdf
  18. Nick77

    DIY Tesla Key

It's purely magnetic induction charging the phone, i.e the pad putting out a magnetic field and that induces a current in the phone's wiring. Tbh I wouldn't have thought it would affect the charging. You might get a small current induced in the keycard wiring but I don't think it would do any...

    Taycan

They're all V2 at Hilton Park aren't they?
  20. Nick77

    Model Y

So you can't just go over to Germany to buy one, register it with the DVLA and then drive it back?

Headlight Alignment - Getting Flashed - Solution (M3)

I find the auto levelling a bit too low for me. Seems like there's only a car length of light ahead of me and I get annoyed I can't see further. So I do the calibration then nudge each side up 5 times. Much better and haven't been flashed yet.
  22. Nick77

Is a Tesla easy to steal?

I always have my home made key fob in my pocket. Just last week the car wouldn't open even though the app said connected and I was standing next to it with my phone You definitely need some kind of backup just in case.

Tyre pressure alert this morning - all values the same?

They don't look or feel low. They're probably a bit comfier too. I assume it slightly increases range though.
  24. Nick77

Tyre pressure alert this morning - all values the same?

Mine were at 44/45 when I picked it up in June. Currently at 40 all round and not had any alerts yet.

How many people pay for Premium Connectivity?

I have the 12 month free version, not the trial here, but is shows exactly the same. You can also see your end date in the app (in upgrades) or on the account section of the website.
  26. Nick77

    BP Pulse account administration?

They're a horrific company for customer service. When I signed up my account was pending for ages. It took weeks and weeks of emails, calls and twitter DMs until I finally got a decent member of staff who sorted it out for me. I used up my credit and will never use them again other than...

    Wifi

Cheers. I was sat in the car at the time so no idea why it didn't see it then.
  28. Nick77

    Wifi

My car doesn't see 5ghz networks so I assume it's 2.4ghz only. I tested it using my phone hot-spot, switching between 2.4 and 5, and it wouldn't see the latter.
  29. Nick77

    Tessie App

I like that you can look at the app and check things without waking the car, unlike the official app.

    [UK] 2021.32.x

Just bumping this to say you were right. After trying it while concentrating on it more closely, it does exactly this. I was obviously turning the wheel slightly when I indicated.

Slow charging this morning at public charger?

I've not yet gone through a winter on public chargers. My thoughts though is to pick the warmest time of day (mid-late afternoon) and go for a short drive beforehand to get a bit of preconditioning in. Maybe precondition the car from the app for 10 mins before you set out too.
  32. Nick77

How many people pay for Premium Connectivity?

I have it free for a year but I won't be renewing. The only thing I'd lose is the traffic visualisation. If I was going on a trip I'd just use Waze on my phone for that. Plus I have unlimited data and a 5G capable phone so I have no worries on that side. I have my own Spotify Premium...

Rattling noise from the passenger side

It has stopped now ever since I moved the seat back a bit. A friend had moved it forwards a few cm to give someone in the back a bit more room. Once I moved it I haven't heard a peep out of it.
  34. Nick77

    Drivers air vent

I've tried that on and off. No difference that I could see.
  35. Nick77

    Drivers air vent

Cheers. Makes no difference in me be, its on all the time now. Not that it really bothers me, just wondered why.
  36. Nick77

Made in China Model 3: Build Quality / Hardware Differences

Yes. I had it in mine the other day. It'll clear up after you drive it or leave it for a day or so.
  37. Nick77

    [UK] 2021.32.x

I know that the main guy on the Tesla Owners UK Facebook group had a chance to talk to Tesla a few weeks back about improvements, and that was one of the things they discussed.
  38. Nick77

    Panic buying!

Agreed. The job isn't worth it for the most part unless you're just interested in the bottom line, particularly now you can earn stupid amounts like at least £50k a year just working 12 hours Fri/Sat/Sun. My mate is a big transport manager and he says most drivers are not put off by the long...

    Panic buying!

Assuming the delivery driver has been able to fill up....
  41. Nick77

    [UK] 2021.32.x

Am I the only one who opens the charge port just by pressing it gently. Quicker and easier unless you're sat looking at the screen.
  42. Nick77

    Drivers air vent

I noticed the other day that the passenger vent is blowing even when no-one is sitting in there. I'm sure it only used to switch on with someone in the passenger seat when I bought it. Has this changed in a recent update or am I misremembering?
  43. Nick77

Rattling noise from the passenger side

I noticed a slight rattle from my empty passenger seat. It is coming from the seat back. If you grab the headrest and wobble it back/forward yourself you can hear the noise as the seat back moves.
  44. Nick77

    [UK] 2021.32.x

That's not my experience. On the carriageway in as soon as I indicate the Bing-Bong chimes in and deactivates AP before I've even touched the wheel to change lanes. I'll take more notice next time I do it but that's my memory of it.

    Your Model 3 Maximum Range?

    338
  46. Nick77

    [UK] 2021.32.x

Yep mine has always done that.
  47. Nick77

Do you use a screen protector?

Easy they just pull off in one go. Same as a phone protector essentially.
  48. Nick77

    [UK] 2021.32.x

Mine just pinged as well. Installing now
  49. Nick77

Do you use a screen protector?

The AO alignment frame is brilliant. Makes it so easy. I saved it for future use.
