To Plaid, or not to Plaid....that's a good question!

If Plaid is what you want, get it! Im 10000% sure you can find someone local that will want to trade your CF for wood trim once you get the car! It is a little more involved that it was in the past, but there will be no shortage of people that want CF

    Model S Plaid range discussion.

Yeah like @WilliamG mentioned, my new pack is absolutely normal behavior. Charge stopped right at 90%, did not "climb" after charging stopped. I've used about 25% of the charge since this morning, and via TeslaFi, every watt is accounted for making my pack a 97kWh pack. (not 79kwh). It...

Yeah, so I have one of those "Maxwellautotechnology" canbus cables with BLE ODB connector. Unfortunately it does not work on the plaid. The cable fits in the car, but no data comes across. I believe the one I have is missing one or two pairs of pins that the plaid needs that my older MS...

Mobile Ceramic Coating experts in the LA area?

Hi guys, Can anyone in the LA area recommend a "mobile" ceramic coating expert. SFV specifically.

    Model S Plaid range discussion.

I got the car back. The pack is representing 400mi at 100% with 19" wheels, this is a 1st. On my "Remote" app it shows the pack capacity is 96.4kWh. I am doing my 1st charge to 90%. The pack has never seen more than 33% since they installed it. Needless to say, I am thrilled that I...

It's funny that you guys talk about Aircraft purchases like most buy cars. I've been exposed to "that life" for about the last 10 yrs. It's a whole new world. I figure all you Aircraft aficionados would appreciate this: I have a B client with 14 aircraft, 2 of which a re BBJ's, 2 Hawker...

To Plaid, or not to Plaid....that's a good question!

My 85D at 80k miles was at 315wh/mi. I’m blown away by the efficiency of my plaid when I don’t mash the accelerator. On short trips I’ve seen Model 3 level 250wh/mi. On my plaid. Based on my calculations From my 1st post the plaid will get about 333mi on a charge. Don’t see how...

To Plaid, or not to Plaid....that's a good question!

Wasn't EPA on the MS 85 253? When I sold my 85 (not D) it had 40k on the clock and my consumption was 305wh/mi (19" cyclones). My Plaid routinely gets 285wh/mi. The usable pack size on my Plaid is probably 25% larger......how did you come up with the 85 is 19% more than the Plaid...

Bike Rack Seasucker Bomber 3 Bike (SoCal)

I put my levo on it on a regular basis. Per seasucker, you mount the front mount of the bike in the middle. Works great within all specs To make it easier to lift I take out the battery

iPhone 13 Pro (and Pro Max) -- does wireless charging work in Plaid / Refresh S?

This has been my experience! It would not take much charge at all when the phone SoC was above 75%, it would just get blazing hot. My car is in service since the 23rd, so I have not yet tried it with my 13 pro max. I was wondering if everyone notices this, and have you found a way to...

If I get my car back on the 11th as they are planning, of the 6 weeks I've owned it, 3 weeks it's been in service. I actually got a call from the SC manager, because his Regional manager was "notified" of the situation of our packs. He was really really nice, tried to see if there's...

No, pack is on back order. Im told I should have it back the 12th. I will have been without the car for a total of 3 weeks. I Took delivery Aug 27. So they've had it longer than me when I get it back. My new pack was ordered on the 23rd. Maybe a miracle will happen and now that EOQ...

That's pretty unsettling. For the longest time I thought the initial 3 of us were edge cases, then yours came along, and you mentioned that your SC has 3 others. My SC mentioned that they had one other than mine, although I do not know if that one is a refresh cars or not. I HOPE this is...

    What eMMC do I have?

That is MCU1 and will inevitably need a new eMMC. You might want to pay for the LTE upgrade while you are at it. MCU2 upgrade is great, if you want snappy screen performance.

Washington State: Model S Plaid/LR waiting room

Although I agree, you should get a car that has not been reworked, I don't equate a HV battery to a new motor in an ICE. My pack is in fact being replaced, but Im fairly confident no issues will arise from that. There's not much to screw up. Two high voltage cables, two water lines and a...

    Model S Plaid/LR 2021 Refresh Issues Thread

Yes exactly. That was my 1st odd symptom. After that, I went on a 120 Mile drive and it used 50% of the battery while driving in a very efficient manner. (253wh/mi) That just means I was getting good milage, yet the battery declined 50%. That told me something was wrong because the...

    Model S Plaid/LR 2021 Refresh Issues Thread

Definetly not! But if it is, you will notice that you cant drive the car very far on a full charge even driving like a grandma. I would insist they tell you what the BMS error was prior to taking delivery. If it is same as mine, don't take the car without them at least ordering a new...

    Model S Plaid/LR 2021 Refresh Issues Thread

So they "reset" my BMS and what that did was it showed everything was normal until I discharged the battery, the all my range went away. The reset followed a series of events starting with SoC climbing up after charging stops, then after a couple drives I realized the pack was acting...

    Plaid Problem

An update in regards to the timing to get a new pack. I was messaged yesterday indicating it will be another 2 weeks from yesterday. So it will be almost 3 weeks to get my car back with a new pack. They will have had my car longer than me IF I get it back when they say.

    Plaid Problem

They went back and forth with me over a couple weeks. They reset the BMS and sent me on my way, just to have it lose its range over a weekend again. The biggest issue is getting a service appointment at a reasonable time. I left my car with them today for a new pack, since it...

    Plaid Problem

For the record, my car was pretty perfect in every way save for the HV battery only giving me 250mi of rated range. Finally after 3 weeks and 2200 miles of wasted drives to get the battery to fail, I am getting a new battery.
