    Tesla’s do last

There's plenty of Model S's with that kind of mileage out there, at least.

Wrong location on GPS and not able to do a soft reset, should I be concerned?

I used to have a 2019 Model 3 Performance that would have an inaccurate GPS for 2 minutes after leaving my garage at home, and then would be fine after that each morning. Never really bothered me enough to find out why it did that. Sold it in January.

    Please don't buy the CT

Yep. If you can avoid the FOMO, you'll get a higher build quality CT a year later for a lower price. Tesla drops prices for end-of-quarter sale targets all the time, and the Cybertruck won't be an exception.

    12V failing :(

A recent firmware update handles failed 12V more gracefully than it used to before. Now when the battery dies, the car will avoid going to sleep so you'll never be locked out, this of course slowly drains the traction battery but it's better than getting locked out of your car!

EVs Fall Short of EPA Estimates by a Much Larger Margin Than ICE in Real-World Highway Testing

If you're not putting on a catheter for your road trips, you're doing it wrong.

EVs Fall Short of EPA Estimates by a Much Larger Margin Than ICE in Real-World Highway Testing

I always try to arrive at DCFC locations at 5% or less since that's where you'll be charging the fastest.

    2021 vs 2023 M3P

The 23 has matrix LED headlights that will eventually be switched on. No radar on the 23. The little divider tray in the center console arm rest is missing in the 23, I yoinked it from my 19 when I traded it in.

M3 RWD charging at 40amp after PCS replacement?

AC charging at a lower rate won't do much to help the battery out since even at 48A that's only 0.13C on a AWD Model 3. Anything less than 0.5C (2 hour charge time) shouldn't harm the battery. Lowering the amps can extend the life of the onboard charger, though.

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

90% is fine. I don't personally do it since I never need that much range. I do 80%.

Can I still cancel order even after having a delivery date schedule?

You should have been receiving text messages from a specialist shortly after ordering a car. You can either call or text them back for help.

Model 3 Performance Waiting Room [2020-2023]

I bought the warranty from Discount Tire on the same day I took delivery of my new Model 3 Performance last week.

    New tires at 21,000 miles

Michelin's CrossClimate2 tires have a 60k mile warranty, I think it can be done as long as they don't floor it at every light.
  13. S

    New tires at 21,000 miles

And the Model X weighs about the same as the BMW X5. Cars in general got heavier, regardless of drive train.
  14. S

    New tires at 21,000 miles

I wouldn't exactly call the Model 3 a heavy car. The RWD Model 3 weighs 100 lbs more than a 2023 Camry. A Model 3 Performance weighs 150 lbs more than a BMW M3 Competition. Model 3 high tire wear mostly can be credited to lead foots.

Model 3 Performance Waiting Room [2020-2023]

Got my car! Took only 10 minutes to do my trade-in.
  16. S

Model 3 Performance Waiting Room [2020-2023]

Exactly. There's a few free 44kW CCS chargers dotted around my area - especially in the more remote mountains so it might come in handy one day.
  17. S

Model 3 Performance Waiting Room [2020-2023]

Wow, that was easy to bypass! All I had to do was inspect the 'add to cart' element, and delete the 'disabled' portion.
  18. S

Model 3 Performance Waiting Room [2020-2023]

This is so annoying. I can't order a CCS adapter for my new car 'cause Tesla thinks I'm ordering it for my incompatible 2019 one.

Model 3 Performance Waiting Room [2020-2023]

It was supposedly an inventory model available in Atlanta, but that seemed a bit misleading since it took 2 weeks to arrive at the Alpharetta location! It's Midnight Silver with black interior.
  20. S

Model 3 Performance Waiting Room [2020-2023]

In Georgia, ordered 1/13, going to pick mine up tomorrow!
  21. S

Model 3 Performance Waiting Room [2020-2023]

The performance models likely are sitting due to their ineligibility to qualify for the $7,500 tax credit. Gotta be white with either interior color, blue or silver with black interior.

Wipers Turning to Manual from Auto

Yeah, the automatic wipers aren't that great. I leave my wipers off, and when it rains I press the wiper button on the left stalk to turn it to auto until it stops raining.

Model 3 Performance Waiting Room [2020-2023]

My expected pickup date (MNS on black) on Thursday remains on schedule. I ordered on 1/13.

    New tires at 21,000 miles

Interesting. Discount Tire successfully did a claim for me when I replaced my OEM tires.

    New tires at 21,000 miles

I'm surprised the OP didn't manage to get a tire warranty claim when buying new ones.

Model 3 Performance Waiting Room [2020-2023]

Tesla just offered $27k for my 2019 Model 3 Performance with 18” wheels with 48k miles. It’s about the same everywhere else, I think I’ll accept.

Model 3 Performance Waiting Room [2020-2023]

I have an appointment for pickup on the 26th, still no appraisal on my car.
  28. S

Model 3 Performance Waiting Room [2020-2023]

Your tax savings matter on where you live, and how much your out of pocket will be when purchasing your new car. If you owe more on the car than its trade-in value, then you won't get any tax savings.

how come RWD SR+ drift and fish tail a bit while driving in straight line on HWY speed on snow day?

Even the AWD Teslas are very rear-biased in the snow and ice. It doesn't bother me at all since that means I can still steer with the front wheels.

Model 3 Performance Waiting Room [2020-2023]

It helps that there's not a lot to customize!

Model 3 Performance Waiting Room [2020-2023]

I'll likely sell my car to someone else. It's still annoying the appraisal isn't done yet though.
  32. S

Model 3 Performance Waiting Room [2020-2023]

I ordered a Model 3 Performance on Thursday night almost immediately after the price drop. The car said it was available in my area but it turns out that wasn't true, so it'll likely be available to pick up late next week. I'm also awaiting appraisal of my current car. The folks at Tesla must be...

    Anyone have an electric motorcycle?

Having DC fast charging on a motorcycle is very nice.
  34. S

    BMW i4 M50

I don't believe the 3/Y suffers from having to share A/C in the cabin while supercharging as much as the older cars, and neither should a brand new i4.

If ford made the bronco an ev would it sell like mad?

Electric pickup trucks are very inefficient too but they're still being built.

Who can catch Tesla ? They seem to be experiencing exponential growth…..

I base it on Tesla's choice to stay away from the lower priced (and lower profit margin) market. If we're just talking about number of units sold then Tesla doesn't stand a chance against companies making small $20k city cars. But maybe Tesla's fine with avoiding the lower end since there's not...

Who can catch Tesla ? They seem to be experiencing exponential growth…..

VW will probably overtake Tesla in 3 years at this rate.

    Traffic Visualization suddenly not working

This has been happening to me the past month or so. I'll also lose cruise control, autopilot, and automatic emergency braking. I put in a service request, and they closed it saying it's a known firmware issue. It seems to only fix itself if the car goes to sleep for a while. Then the problem...

    Ducati electric motorcycle

I own an Energica Ego, the bike Ducati's replacing in MotoE. I'm very interested in Ducati's V21L, and I'm hoping it has a liquid cooled battery but I'm not expecting it to be lighter than my bike. 21kWh battery packs aren't light!

    F-150 Ford Lightning

Why are you so obsessed with women's reproductive system? And why talk about this in an EV forum?

Dead Polestar 2 at Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Regen braking doesn't have much use in any EV at slow speeds regardless of the brand. They all need friction brakes to get to a complete stop.
  43. S

Dead Polestar 2 at Enterprise Rent-A-Car

There's always friction on the rotors/pads during motion. Also, you have to apply a little braking force at under 7 mph.

Dude that's a lot of words without line breaks. You ok?

Car & Driver: The Mach E is simply better than the Model Y

I think now that there's no referral program at all anymore there's less of an incentive to promote the company. Lately, I've been telling people to wait a couple more years for all these recently announced EVs to become available first.
