Fob missing somewhere inside Model X - any guesses?

Because of this thread, I've decided I don't need to buy a fob. How's the universe going to react to that?

    Rebooting does not work

Maybe one of the more drastic resets (from the pinned post), like changing wheel size (or better) might help.

    Rebooting does not work

I wonder if a reset would help, but obviously that's pretty drastic.

I pulled the trigger and ordered a MX Plaid!

Maybe regen is stronger because there's one more motor?

I pulled the trigger and ordered a MX Plaid!

I said something similar with my LR3. Didn't stop me from performance boost on the 3 and trading it for a PY or a PX. I did say I didn't need a plaid S. My plaid X was fast enough. IF I go much faster I'm going to pass out.

    Supercharger - Fargo, ND

I haven't seen more than 4 cars charging at Casey's in Fargo. I drive by several times a day. You can check via the app or the screen in your car at any time.

    Standard range or long range

I doubt the VINs going to be much help. What does the right rear of the car say? P90D? https://teslatap.com/vin-decoder/

What good is a Tesla if you can't floor it once in awhile?

Active Spoiler - transplant from older X? Will software see it? Ideas?

I was tempted to buy parts from a wrecked X, but decided with having to dig into the wiring harness, it was just a little too much to justify. Besides, no guarantee it would work out of the box on a '24 as-is. Creating an Arduino controller by itself could be a fun project, but not with all the...

About to order new MX. Do they all vibrate?

The noises I have are plastic rubbing on plastic when driving over road cracks or bumps.
  12. towndrunk

About to order new MX. Do they all vibrate?

I love mine, but shouldn't need to open panels and add felt to quiet them in a $100+ car.
  13. towndrunk

About to order new MX. Do they all vibrate?

Yes they all vibrate, but for a new one it should be for only a few seconds, maybe during the first couple minutes of a drive. I notice it most with wheel cranked in the first minute. If you spend 99.9% of the time in low and straight ahead, especially when driving hard, that improves your odds.

How to get to air valve on 22" Turbine

Yes, the covers come off. Try lifting up on the inside. (Just a guess. I have the 20s, so different wheel.)

Show off your aftermarket Model X wheels...

The square setup I'm going to use for my winter set is 20x9 with 265/45s. I wanted a narrower wheel for ride comfort and less likely of curbing. I'm using replica Überturbine wheels made for the X & S. I'm leaning toward the Hankook iON i*cept SUV winter tires.

    Satonic Soft Close Frunk

I installed my MPP rear sway bar, rear camber shims, more rear camber shims, & steering wheel stalks. The soft close frunk was purchased before all that and the full frunk kit before the shims. Still have PPF to install on the grill too, purchased around the same time as the soft close frunk...

    Satonic Soft Close Frunk

Make sure you watch the videos carefully so you know what you're getting into. I bought the soft close, then decided I wanted the full frunk kit so it would open and close with a button. Still haven't installed it tho.

    Purchasing a used Model X

IF you're worried about range in the winter, you might want to buy new enough to have the heat pump, which increases range quite a bit. FYI, nearly all Y's have one.

Show off your aftermarket Model X wheels...

You're proposing an unusual setup, squared wheels, but staggered tires. Did the wheels not come in other widths? I don't think you'll have any problem with this, but I'm no expert. There are threads with MXs with larger than stock tires. You might plug those into your calculator and see how...

Swapping Steering Wheel for Yoke. Software Update Error

Teslaunch Refresh Stalk kit install and review

What s/w version are you on? I'm still on 14.9. All I noticed is my right stalk (never used) was sticking in the down position the other day when I was testing it. Of course when I go to demonstrate it to my wife, it was a little sticky, but from what she could see, it worked fine. My left...

Vendor Imfamouns Tire Wear Solution!! (2021+ Model S LR/ Plaid ) w/ EVPE shims

These camber shims are only for newer X's. You need camber arms to do what you want, which is going to cost you more.

Do the refresh X drive only in low height now?

You want to align for the height you drive at the most. If your changes default to low over 60 like mine, you want to shim the rear and align at low. That's what I did. The only time I need a height other than low would be when I need a little more ground clearance and that doesn't last long...

    Spring release 2024.14 for 23-24 Model X

    2024 Tread wear

Because I had the day off, I scheduled for Memorial Day and came in with a $20 off coupon and told them I wanted lifetime. They countered with a $40 off coupon. It had been aligned a few weeks prior, but I had tweaked the rear camber shims and front lowering links, so not as much to do. Still...

Recurrent users, how's your reported range doing? (Mine sucks.)

Thanks. I'm strongly considering Hankook iON i*cept SUV winter tires, based primarily on their summer performance. Probably not the best idea, since I can't find any reviews on them from anyone here. I've had Michelin X Ice tires on my last two Teslas and liked them, but my Aspergers always...

    2024 Tread wear

If you're going to drive it like a track car, then you'd want all that camber. Those of us that primarily accelerate in straight lines, don't. You might want to get a lifetime alignment, probably about $100 more than a one-time one. Then you can tweak your suspension again in about 5,000 miles...

    2024 Tread wear

You would think so, but no. I took delivery in Feb. Build quality was great, but there's been no change in the suspension in years.
  41. towndrunk

    2024 Tread wear

You know it. But $100 in parts (shims) and a wheel alignment (which you should get anyway) and you'll be good. Yes you're going to wear tires, but what 670+ HP SUV can you buy that won't?
  42. towndrunk

Recurrent users, how's your reported range doing? (Mine sucks.)

Maybe I misunderstand some of the graphs, like the "hows my range" one where you and I scored below the rest. I assumed it meant I had degradation, but maybe it means I have a lead foot. I bet driving in plaid mode 24x7 doesn't help. What also doesn't help, is I have a mild case of Aspergers, so...

Alternative, DIY refresh Model X rear camber correction

Wow, your camber's all over the place. It should be similar from side to side, not .5 to 1.5° difference per side. At least they should be able to get the front much closer. Was this measured on commercial equipment or DIY?

Recurrent users, how's your reported range doing? (Mine sucks.)

Thanks for your input. I don't have any numbers handy, but my range via the app currently says 70%/210 miles. I suspect my W/mile is skewed since I have an 8 mile daily commute, all below 45 mph, and one 100 mile (round trip) a week (half each 60/83 mph), so not typical. I may be a senior...

Recurrent users, how's your reported range doing? (Mine sucks.)

Each month my comparative range keeps dropping. It started above the line for vehicles similar to mine, then kept dropping. You can see from the chart on the right, I rarely exceed 80%, or drop below 30. Maybe I need to take it to 90% and down to single digits more often. Last month I...
