Yes, that will reduce dallying at LP. More sip-and-zips ...
Yes. 4 —> 8 was great, but 4 —> 12 would have been terrific. V2 —> V3 has also been a godsend.
Bishop will also help Lone Pine. Because of charging taper, 15 minutes in Lone Pine can be replaced with 5-minute pee breaks in LP and Bishop....
Did hit Lone Pine. Took the 8th of 8 stalls. All seemed to be operating. Pulled initial 225 kW at about 20% SoC.
Is anyone able to verify that Lone Pine SC is now operational? We’re just north of Mojave and soon to pass Inyokern ...
I've switched to Michelin CrossClimates for the bizarre mix of driving we do here in California winters: 65 degrees at low elevations but FEET of...
Whew ... much aporeciated!
Daniel, sorry you had that experience! Lone Pine is closed today?
Making it home from Mammoth is easy. We did it (to Sherman Oaks) in a RWD Model 3. Arrived home with 37 miles (traveling at 72-74 mph).
Has anyone else received this offer ... even though they purchased the car with FSD? And, seen FSD disappear from their Tesla account vehicle...
OP is indeed getting great advice from everyone here. As a real-world example of charging strategy: We went from LA to Park City (near SLC)....
I've lately found the available stalls counts to be spot on, at least on the LA/Mammoth route.
It was 3 of 4 available. There are still only 4 operating stalls. When we went through tonight, it said 1 of 10 available. Reality was 1 of 4.
That’s what I suspect may happen. The way they’ve paved/patched, it looks like there may be four V3 stalls added, with hardware in the original...
WARNING All of the previous stations have been removed. (Photo is of prior site.) And, the four plastic-wrapped stations remain uncommissioned....
Stopped on Christmas afternoon and used one of the V3 chargers. Arrived at 10% SOC and maxed out at 194 kW and just under 800 mph. M3P-
For me, the new commands (temp, glovebox, etc.) started working only when I kept holding down the scroll button until the requested action occurred.
Yes, all’s quiet in Mammoth right now, but this weekend could be a mad rush ...
Plastic wrap still on. :( Not busy yet, though. :)

Dropper post is an absolute game changer for riding rolling terrain. Here in Mammoth, I change ride height more frequently than I shift gears!
Without the bikes, I used 370 range miles for this trip. Roughly 285 Wh/mi. With rack and bikes, 527 range miles. Huge hit.
Nothing remarkable.
My wife’s 3LR RWD. 18-inch aeros ... but aero covers forgotten at home. 74 mph most of the way. Temps in the 70s leaving LA, near 100 across...
Arrived at 20%. Ramped up quickly to 147 kW and kept edging up thereafter. Held 150 kW until about 45%. At that point, headed off to our condo...

If you do Mammoth, or even local mountains, in winter, the summer tires will be a problem. Great for the canyons, though!
Yes! Plus better purchase/service communication, more consistent service experiences, and continued Supercharger expansion. Autopilot is great....
Agreed. And, Temecula gets cold enough in the winter, that you will lose a bit of range.
Mountains. Snow. Very close. Very deep. [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
Same here. And, we were low VIN: #2270 on our original RWD and one of the first P3Ds on the second.
Yes, I believe that full regen charges at something like 60 kW!

Second all of the advice above. However, unless you need to drag race, perhaps consider an S100D with 19-inch wheels?
I’ve n I’ve recently noticed this, too. Guess it’s indeed a feature, not a bug.
