    Supercharger Extension Cable

I wonder with the new IONIQ 5, if you backed as far in and as close to the drivers side of the stall as possible, whether the cable of a V3 Supercharger would reach? Or maybe on an angle, with passenger front and driver rear close to opposite stall edges?

    Supercharger Extension Cable

As @brkaus said, the Cybertruck's battery is arranged as two banks of 400V each. They can be put in series, giving 800V for running the motors or charging with an 800V charger, or put in parallel for a 400V charger.

And you are predicting the future in assuming there will be demand for this regardless of cost, size, weight and maximum power limitations. We'll both have to wait and see what happens, unless you decide to develop, get approvals, then manufacture and market one yourself.

    Supercharger Extension Cable

Yes, it is a reason. If they get very few sales because of excessive cost, or it being too thick and heavy to be stored and managed, or even due to lack of interest, they won't make a profit, thus making it not worth developing and marketing.

Need recommendations on DIY Tire changes - Jack, Torque wrench etc

My car hasn't complained, even though Slovak isn't one of the touch screen, navigation or voice command supported languages. The rubber foot pegs I used are slightly tapered and ended up just the right size to provide a mild friction fit, like yours. Funny story: The first time I swapped my...

Need recommendations on DIY Tire changes - Jack, Torque wrench etc

I had a 1½ ton but was worried it wouldn't be strong enough, so I bought this 3 ton from Princess Auto (but it's just a common model that will be rebranded by various retailers). Being Canadian, I made my own from actual hockey pucks, from Canadian Tire, and rubber foot pegs.

    Supercharger Extension Cable

It may be just a rumour but I thought I read somewhere that those who signed up for Tesla Supercharger access (virtually everyone) are required to put the NACS connector at the left rear for new vehicles or with exiting models when they switch the charge port from CCS1 to NACS. (I would hope...

My confidence in the A2Z (and possibly Lectron) adapter is based on the video reviews and CEO interviews Tom Moloughney has done for the opposite (NACS charger to CCS1 vehicle) adapters on his State Of Charge YouTube channel. (The fact that A2Z is a Canadian company is also a factor, in my...

Please recommend front grill mesh covers

After watching some D.I.Y. videos and reviewing the service manual again, it appears to me that for heat pump cars there is actually only a single large radiator/condenser, unlike resistive heater cars that have a separate smaller radiator above the front of the condenser. For both, there is a...

Please recommend front grill mesh covers

If your M3 is a 2020 model, I think it would have a resistive heater instead of a heat pump. My 2021 model has a heat pump. The service manual shows that the radiator for cars with a resistive heater is roughly half the size of the radiator for heat pump cars. I wonder how that affects how and...

2022 Model 3P in storage for 15 days. Battery questions.

Software updates are normally only downloaded over WiFi, not over the mobile cellular link. I doubt the car will have access to WiFi while in storage. To be sure, go into the WiFi settings and delete any networks that have been set up. If there's a software update shown as ready to install, it...

Please recommend front grill mesh covers

Installation went smoothly. Even after 3 years the radiator looked quite clean but I cleaned it out as best as I could through the front slats, using my shop vac with a 2 foot length of 1/2" outside - 3/8" inside diameter clear PVC tubing attached to a crevice tool with electrical tape. That...

Please recommend front grill mesh covers

I like to have a few extra hours available even for something as seemingly simple as this, in case of complications. I could end up needing to find extra parts or tools. I also want to clean the radiator before I install the screen, which means I'll have to adapt a small tube to my vacuum hose...

Yikes! More repairs and really not cheap!

I've actually forced my trunk to stop opening once, for the reason described here. It didn't cause any damage or misalignment for me but I wouldn't recommend doing it frequently.

Yikes! More repairs and really not cheap!

There is actually one instance where you have to, though not when it's in operation. From the Model 3 Owner's Manual (Note it says "manually lower or raise" in step 1):

Please recommend front grill mesh covers

The full length one with a separate mesh that I ordered arrived today. I has six snap-in clips to hold it to the grill slats, as others do, but also has double sided tape on the ends. I suppose it's possible that the clips might hold it securely enough that the tape isn't required. However...

Please recommend front grill mesh covers

I can't say for sure but by my reasoning the active shutters would likely close when driving in cold weather, to help keep the battery warm. Without the mesh, the inlet might get clogged with snow anyway. Having the mesh there might actually keep snow from jamming the shutters. I would be a...

    Rivian Fast Chargers for Tesla?

That article is talking about a "carry-along" detachable cable that you keep in your car to use with "universal" level 2 EVSE stations that don't provide a cable. The EVSE side of that cable is a standardized (Type 2 "Mennekes", SAE J3068) connector. The other side of the cable matches the AC...

New M3 Driver - Question about if car I purchased included FSD

"Full self-driving computer" only indicates that your hardware is capable of supporting Full Self Driving software. All (except maybe very early?) Teslas will show this. If FSD was installed, it would show "Full Self Driving Capability Included package" instead of "Autopilot Included package".

I have pre-2021 (which includes 2019) Tesla 18" Aero wheels and covers for my winter tires that I use on my 2021 M3 LR. The car came with the newer style 18" Aero wheels and covers. Except that standard use is for electric stoves and clothes dryers, which commonly will only use 250V for the heating elements and possibly the drum motor in a dryer. Tesla Wall connector with 14-50 NEMA plug

I did the same, though only the 40A breaker, because 50A GFCI breakers were in short supply and quite a bit more expensive at the time, and my load calculation was close to the limit. I used 6 gauge wire, so upgrading is just a breaker swap. The inspector said I should mark the cover plate...

MASTER THREAD: Powering house or other things with Model 3

That's what I was thinking. But you would think Tesla would offer an official similar device if it was technically possible, as with the Cybertruck's V2H capability. If it does work, it would be interesting to see what the car reports on the display for charge voltage/current/power when in...

MASTER THREAD: Powering house or other things with Model 3

A device named the Leyoutime, appeared as a Kickstarter campaign today. It claims it can pull power from a M3 or MY (CCS enabled) NACS charge port and convert it to 120VAC at up to 5000W. Will this thing actually work?

    L6-30 & mobile connector

But if what you quoted is true: then Tesla is selling an adapter that is illegal for use with an EV. Shouldn't the authorities or Tesla's lawyers be informing them of this? Regardless, the bottom line is that the Wikipedia chart should have the 10-30 and 10-50 moved to the 120/240VAC category...

I said above: According to the section in the Wikipedia article that uses that image:

    L6-30 & mobile connector

And that's why the 10 series has been deprecated. Nonetheless, they're classified as 120V/240V so should be in that category. Maybe they should also be labelled as "Old Outlet", as the 1-15 is.
  40. MLXXXp

    L6-30 & mobile connector

Part of that chart is incorrect (though not for the L5-30 and L6-30 discussed here). The 10-30 and 10-50 connectors should be in the 120/240VAC category. I've added a discussion topic for the file to point this out. Hopefully the author will see my message and correct the image.

New Tesla owner. What can I do to this outlet to be able to use my mobile charger at home? What should I buy? 2022 LR

I charged from a standard 5-15 outlet, with the mobile connector included with the car, for a year before installing a 14-50 outlet that I use with the same mobile connector. After reading this thread, I thought getting one of these might be a good idea. However, I was a bit concerned about how easy it would be to clean. Question about Tesla recommendation to go to 20% battery life before recharging

Although there isn't a battery health issue with letting it go below 20%, the manual cautions about a number of things that "kick in" if the battery falls below 20%: Sentry mode is disabled. Cabin overheat protection is disabled. Climate control is turned off if it was turned on from the app...

    Missing Dashcam footage

The "recent" video only records the last hour. The theft could have occurred before then, so video of it would have been lost. Sentry is fairly particular about what it records. How to gracefully disengage FSD

True, with only a short tap, the brakes won't be applied. However, regenerative braking will immediately kick in because your foot is over the brake pedal, not on the accelerator pedal (unless you brake with your left foot, with your right foot still on the accelerator, which wouldn't be normal...
