Collison center tesla model x 90d advice

It’s not a warranty item so nothing for Tesla there, and unless you can prove the body shop caused the issue (which is also unlikely), don’t think you have any other recourse except to replace it yourself. For a rear bumper/fascia replacement, the body shop wouldn’t need to access the...

When do you get metal plates for a Used Tesla bought directly from Tesla? CA

Nothing to worry about, will come in the mail. Worst case, get new temp tags from Tesla when they expire.

Crack on Uberturbine Wheel no Curb Rash

My wife scraped up 911 Turbo wheels within 3 weeks of ownership in a bank drivethru… after that, I’m totally desensitized 🤣

How much does this cost to repair?

What year is this M3? And it’s the front that got hit? The year can help determine if you have USS. If only the bumper cover (officially called the fascia) was impacted, it’s about US$600, pre-painted, not including installation/labor. Looks like you’re in Australia, so the only folks that can...

Crack on Uberturbine Wheel no Curb Rash

Those are not cracks… look like regular road hazards impacting.

    3 year performance degradation

Is this something that is in writing for Tesla PV systems? Similar to the 30% for car batteries?

Buying Tesla Model S 2020 , 60k miles, from Audi dealer( was a trade in) , and they texted me a picture GTW locked , alerts to check:2

I’d stay away from this car if I were you. It is out of warranty and you will need more than ChatGPT to resolve this. Unlikely anyone can help remotely diagnose/fix this without a lot more details (in person).

Brand new Model3 highland got hit while parked

I think OP is hoping it’s totaled so he gets a new car… But agreed, not totaled. Doesn’t look too bad.

    2025 model 3 leasing?

If you do lease via Tesla Financial, there is no option to purchase the vehicle at the end of the lease, if you do decide to do so. So best bring your own financing or lease via another lender if you think there is a possibility you may want to buy out the car at the end of the lease.

Recently got a 2014 P85 and I can't seem to find any accessories that work with this old of a model.

Congrats on the new ownership! Sourcing 2014 accessories will be a challenge… what type of “accesories” did you have in mind? It’s a 10-year old car and there were only 31k produced, which means this is a low volume model/year. Many vendors incl. those on Amazon and Aliexpress sell...

Tesla Long distance travel preparation and experience

We just get in the car and go. Tire pressure and SOC are the only things I check. Other things like the tire plug kit and compressor, CCS and water are always in the car anyway. But I’m in CA where teslas and superchargers are a dime a dozen so…

How to use USB-C in Model Y

As noted above, the USB slot is in the glovebox, far left side. Easy to miss in the dark, and most likely has the Tesla usb stick still plugged in (that you successfully reformatted)

    Charger security

What do you have setup exactly? A Tesla Wall Connector? Or a Mobile Connector with electrical outlet? (Ex. NEMA 14-50 outlet)

    Is my car totaled?

No point throwing good money after bad. Your resale value will already plummet as it is. Best to just get it to a shop and let them do the teardown for an accurate quote.
  15. K

    Is my car totaled?

Repairable but you probably want a new car anyway.

Circular saw sounds (LOUD) at low speeds

I’d take it to a service center ASAP. It’s not a normal sound from an EV, and best to avoid any catastrophic failures while driving.

    Colors on map

Like others said, it’s the latest map update that’s stitched together; I wouldn’t worry about it. The color variances are due to cloud cover, shade, seasonal changes, sun angle etc. I think the bottom right corner even lists which version of Maps is installed.

Can You Turn On and Off the Rear Passengers Air Vents Using the New Climate Control Panel in Update 2024.26.1

Yes, you can turn off the rear air vents. The text “Rear” is on the top center of the screen. I’ll add pics next time I’m in the car… 😂 And to then the right passenger air vent on, I just tap the area on the screen. I’m on 2024.26.7

Current Software for a 2022 Model Y Long Range

Tesla decides when and what gets pushed to cars (seriously). No one outside of Tesla has figured out why, and there’s no way to ask for or accelerate the push. Just have to wait it out.

    Ran over a parking block

Can’t tell from your pics how far back it goes or how much damage there is overall. Looks like plastic got torn up too?Aeroshields have a fabric-like material to it. I think aeroshields alone are $300+ each front and rear (parts + labor). If there’s more damage, expect the number to go up.
  22. K

    Ran over a parking block

Looks more like rebar than just a screw. In any case, looks like your aeroshields are all torn up. You’ll need to go to Tesla to get those replaced anyway, so might as well. Unless you were planning to put aftermarket ones.

Hubbell outlet now overheating (has worked for over a year)

prior posters noted that they opened service tickets via the app. If the vehicle is no longer in your account… 🤷‍♂️

Hubbell outlet now overheating (has worked for over a year)

There have been a few failures of the UMC sprinkled over on TMC. Little known fact - it’s actually covered under the 4-yr new vehicle warranty if you received one when Tesla was still including them free on vehicle deliveries. I think some 2023 and earlier vehicles

Before I buy this old Tesla

And are ok working with a very large computer on wheels. Teslas have their fair share of software issues and many times, only Tesla can fix it (unless the one you buy is old enough to be rooted, and you’re comfortable doing it). Not trying to dissuade you, but just for awareness. Tesla issues...

where are CTs, what do they look like?

Also, CT’s are not bi-directional. You’ll need an electrician (not a handyman) to figure things out for you and set it right again.

Time to shop for a new car
  28. K

Hubbell outlet now overheating (has worked for over a year)

What’s the error message in the car? If voltage was reduced, an error notification should have been triggered. Possible the UMC is at fault. Try a different UMC or try using your UMC in a different location. May even be the pigtail on your UMC that’s at issue.

    Turtle mode

I don’t see much online for this error except the usual suggestions. Do a hard reboot of the car and continue monitoring… it may be a HV isolation error 🤷‍♂️
  30. K

    Turtle mode

You’re in Georgia (Europe)? What year is your car? It’s a MY? I’d look to see if there’s a local shop that works with Teslas that can help you. BMS errors are not quite for DIYers.

Got rear ended. How bad does it look?

No injuries? 👍 My magic 8-ball says… totaled.

    financing problem

Your challenges are typical for newcomers to the US. Biggest problem is that you have basically no credit history (aka thin credit file). The 17% interest rate reflects that, regardless of the downpayment amount. The downpayment amount just assures the lender that they can give you the loan...

    financing problem

A one-pay lease provides a reduced money factor (“interest rate”) for leases. Typically offered only by captive banks, e.g. BMWFS, MBFS, Audi, Hyundai, etc. The funds are typically placed in a non-interest bearing account and monthly draws are made from it. If the car is totaled, any remaining...

How does tesla decide on new SC locations?

Just happened 3 months ago: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/entire-supercharging-team-fired.326329/
  35. K

How does tesla decide on new SC locations?

Entire supercharging team at Tesla got laid off. So who knows… but they’re still building plenty in CA. I’ve got two new locations being built in a 5 mile radius.

Trim Tool Strong Enough to Remove Aero Covers - M3P

I thought the Performance (you listed M3P) comes with uberturbines? No covers… unless you’re referring to the center cap? Edit: nvm, just looked it up and they’re not uberturbines… didn’t know 😂

Why won't my car's status update on the app?

2014 MS? Does it still have the old 3G cell module, or was it switched out?
  39. K

Help...Small chip in panoramic glass roof.

Rain-x one works fine IMO. Used it plenty of times to fix cracks/chips. It’s still an epoxy/resin compound that’s easy to apply.

    Tesla service procedures

Everything’s through the app. The app is the main contact point. No, app responders and even SC personnel may not be the most knowledgeable. You’ll need to start figuring out fact from fiction, especially for your make/model and year. Service manuals are available online for free. Good luck!
  41. K

Why won't my car's status update on the app?

But last seen is 11 days ago? That’s very unusual. Is the car connected to wifi/internet? Does it have cell service otherwise?
  42. K

Hubbell outlet now overheating (has worked for over a year)

Yes, and your friend will have to confirm this, but most likely torqued to 80 in/lbs for the Hubble 14-50.

2023 Model Y Performance Front Motor Disabled

There’s a lot to unpack here, which may be why you’re not seeing any response to your posts… but I’ll give it a shot. Please take it for what it’s worth - unsolicited free advice from a nameless/faceless internet stranger. And IANAL 😂 You want the car fixed and Tesla is willing to fix it, but...

    Used Model S purchase experience

Tesla does not sell “certified used cars”; they’re just used cars and the guidelines posted are the minimum requirements they will meet. If they are deficient, open a service request ticket ASAP to get it fixed. Good luck, and welcome to the club 😜
  45. K

    Battery charge increased

Tesla should just hire you as a super-user/customer success rep 😂 Nice write-up 👍
  46. K

Software version when picking up new car

Don’t worry about what version is on the car. Tesla pushes it on their schedule and when the car is connected to wifi. Nothing you can do to influence or impact how/when it’s deployed; it’s one of Tesla’s mysteries. Congrats on the ride!
  47. K

How often have you NEEDED a CCS adapter

out here in CA, not really. Tesla superchargers are everywhere. I used EA for awhile when it was cheaper too, but these days, the Tesla SC’s can be cheaper, depending on the time.

    Roadside Assistance let us down

Roadside assistance is the same everywhere, regardless of the label on the tow truck. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you’re SOL. Just have realistic expectations and it’ll be fine 😜😂

Found Repainting areas on a Used Tesla X, but nothing reported on CarFax

Accept it, or don’t. The lack of carfax evidence doesn’t mean anything and the deal is either good enough to live with the flaw, or it isn’t. Trying to get the selling dealership to provide documentation when they are unable/unwilling to do so may be wasted effort. Many people don’t realize...

Should I do something about this damage to the side rocker plastic?

Other than the cosmetic issue, I’d ignore it and let it go.
