    New Model 3 Performance news

Yeah, the fact they have allowed other automotive journalists to test it would suggest the problem is with this particular 'influencer'? Dunno if he has a 'track' record so to speak or what, don't really care, sounds like another storm in a teacup to me.

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

Yeah, either way I would do whatever works best for you. I feel that people get too worried about the 'charge to 100%' for RWD owners and 'Don't charge to over 80%' for the LR. If a 90% charge once a week (or even 100%) worked best for you I don't believe it would have any appreciable impact on...

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

More so for the LFP battery in the RWD model, for your LR, the recommendation is just to charge it to 80% for general use, charge to 100% for a long trip. The LFP battery calibrates at 100% because the voltage curve doesn't allow the system to know the true charge level through the range like...

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

Yes, it can, it'll give you an estimate to start with, which is usually conservative. The actual charging speed can depend on a whole range of things, temperature, number of cars charging at the same time, how much power is available at the site, which stall you parked at (particularly for V2)...

    Supercharger - Taree, NSW

Last I heard on this is that they will provide a fix for Atto (at a cost to the owner) once they've finished fixing the Seals.

    AGL’s “Night Saver Energy Plan”

Definitely not worth it at 8c but I'm averaging 69.4c/kWh FIT at the moment, so definitely could be an interesting idea.

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

That's awesome news! Do they need to touch up the ceramic coating? I'd definitely be looking to get $50-100 out of the centre though even if it's just for all your messing around having to get it sorted.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Back on software updates, interesting to see that version 2024.32 seems to be getting ready to go out so soon after we got .26 No idea what the new features are.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Yeah, agree, always amazing seeing how blatantly they have tried to copy Tesla (even the initial website was an almost direct copy). XPeng was the company that had the ex-Tesla employee who got sued from memory for stealing a whole bunch of trade secrets and bringing them across. You'd think...

    Ampol AmpCharge network

Absolutely I did some work with a major fuel brand many years ago, @Quickst is spot on. It's all about those overpriced chocolate bars etc that they try to get you to buy every time you pay for gas. That's why they quickly got rid of most of those pay at terminal trials, was a massive...

  25. Jules22

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Yep, there's not much you can do other than use the estimated date as exactly that, an estimate. It's a rough guide and usually works out ok. They don't know any different here until the cars are on the way.

    Superchargers in Australia

Not at all, I think you make a very valid point. One suggestion, are you a part of TOCA? I know they have some reasonably good comms lines to senior management in Tesla Australia. Maybe they could do a petition or something to get some sway?
  27. Jules22

Tesla PP and Tint completed - some comments re original paint condition inside ... (not click bait :-))

Important to remember when making generalised statements on either side of the debate When it comes to paint and build quality, there are vast differences between earlier build and late build vehicles as well as factory of origin.

    Cybertruck Australian Tour

Yeah, I wasn't able to get any confirmation on that, but that's the sort of thing I suspect may happen. My source was very tight lipped on anything other than SA, WA and QLD, but I got the impression that there was more.
  33. Jules22

    Cybertruck Australian Tour

Yeah, I definitely had confirmation it's doing SA, WA and QLD, I think it was in that order (I gave the order in a video a month or so ago, but can't remember what it was lol) There was some suggestion it might do some other landmarks in WA and NT but I didn't have confirmation on that.
  34. Jules22

    Cybertruck Australian Tour

It's still heading to SA, WA and QLD potentially other locations but those are the ones I've had confirmed after TAS.

    Hydrogen Vehicles

Yeah, obviously not too much detail available and for sure a properly delivered and weaponeered purpose designed weapon would always do a better job. I'm assuming this was inside Russia though, so aerial delivery was likely not an option. Just thought it was amusing and a credit to their...

    Hydrogen Vehicles

So looks like someone finally found a practical use case for Toyota Mirai/Hydrogen fuel cells. Reports coming through that Ukraine managed to use a Toyota Mirai by detonating the fuel cell and taking out a Russian building full of military equipment... Imagine the carnage and subsequent bans...

    Autopilot Warnings

Your Mileage May Vary. Regarding missing the blue flashing because you are looking at the road, one of the real advantages of AP is that it allows you to free up concentration from keeping such a close eye on lane control and speed to being 'outside of the cockpit' which gives you much better...
  41. Jules22

    Autopilot Warnings

It takes a LOT to get a warning. I've done several very long drives 2-4,000 km mostly on AP and I've never had a single strike, you have to ignore the flashing blue which increases in intensity for some time before you get a desengagement and it's just for that one drive, but as above if you...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

26.6 seems to be ramping up now.
  43. Jules22

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

They've only gone out to relatively small numbers so far, 26.3.1 went out to ~15% then seemed to be paused, 26.6 started going out, but only to a very small number and now it appears both are slowly rolling out in parallel. There's also a 26.5 and 26.10 but they won't be coming to AU vehicles...

I believe it is active in the LR version.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Yeah, it's all anecdotal, however based on what I hear and see around the place, the percentage of orders for QS do seem to be higher than other colours and the deliveries seem to be lower. Not sure if that's something to do with the ramp up to a new colour for this factory (no idea if that's a...
