Why truck merch? - it's new, other merch is already available. Hitting stores slightly later than ideal? - It's Tesla.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Agreed, something is odd. We placed a Model Y LR order in May and put it on hold. We released the hold in August and we were given a late November to mid-December delivery window. This was updated a couple more times before they called to schedule an 11/21 delivery appt (also at Mt. Kisco)...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Based on comments in the Model Y forum, Tesla appears to be allowing reservation holders to delay (not cancel) pick up and maintain original pricing.

    Price changing

After logging in to my Tesla account and clicking into my Model Y order - scroll down, lower right is a link to an order agreement. Mine has shown the same number since April, there have been no changes during all the price increases.

    August Order Estimate Delivery

Some battery manufacturing equipment was spotted being delivered to Austin earlier this week, so progress is being made. However, if you are expecting delivery in 2021, it is unlikely you will have the 4680s. I believe very few (if any) Austin deliveries will be made in 2021.

    August Order Estimate Delivery

The Hertz order is all Model 3 and all SR+ with LFP batteries. It should have no meaningful effect on Model Y deliveries.

    August Order Estimate Delivery

The ordering process is definitely the most frustrating part. What's interesting is that the rep appears to be right. Last night I assumed the website would have the more correct information. We'll see if I get a VIN in the next few days.

    August Order Estimate Delivery

I originally ordered in April and released an order hold in mid-August. I didn't keep track of them all, but most recently had a Nov 8 - Dec 6 delivery window. Yesterday I was contacted by email from someone at the delivery service center asking to verify details. They also informed me that my...

    Near-future quarterly financial projections

I assume that anyone with summer, or earlier, pricing that refuses delivery by the end of year will go to the back of the line and/or pay the current price. I'm in this exact situation. I haven't spoken to Tesla, but the math works out as follows: Take delivery at April pricing with no tax...

Help me decide: Model Y or Mach-E

Expect to have a regular maintenance schedule with the Mach-E (whether that includes pre-emptively replacing brakes or not, I can't say). Ford Dealers need to stay in business, afterall.

Help me decide: Model Y or Mach-E

I own a Model 3 and will take delivery of a Model Y in the next month or two. A good friend just purchased a Mach-E. I test drove both vehicles with him. The 3 most important considerations for the purchase, in this order: Behind the wheel screen and typical knobs/buttons (for his wife). More...

Help me decide: Model Y or Mach-E

I believe you are right. The initial statements about sharing with other vehicles pertained to the EU. Speculation is that it will carry to the US, but not at all certain.

Help me decide: Model Y or Mach-E

AFAIK, you can not currently charge a Mach-E on the Tesla supercharger network. Sounds like a typical car salesman, telling you what you want to hear. There is speculation that Tesla will open up charging to other vehicles in the (near?) future, but this is not at all clear at this point. My...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Is this AP or FSD? As said above, AP is lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control. It does not change lanes. I assume my 2019 Model 3 would do the same thing, but I've never tried it.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

You can place an order now and when they start to contact you for completing the paperwork, ask them to put your order on hold. I ordered a Y in May and told them I didn't want to take delivery until Q3 (hoping the Tax Credit was restored or would become clear by then). My order shows it is on...

No lines, but only premium fuel available in mine in CT (suggested to the wife she top off the Pilot and fill up the 5 gallon gas tank for my lawn tractor, and sure enough, I'm there after work). Ordered a Model Y today because our Model 3 isn't suitable for our planned trip in August (2 adults...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Day 1 is not a 500,000+ car/year run rate. At best, it is some fraction of that spread over how many ever quarters it takes to hit the full run rate.

Possible to postpone delivery until I see / test drive the Model Y?

If you want chrome, go for the e-tron, assuming it meets your price point. The "customer wants what he wants" is apsofuckinglutely hilarious. To get a great BEV, you're going to get to choose from what's offered for quite a long time. No matter how important you think you are.
  36. Darkfox021

    Coronavirus

US death ratio is poor for two reasons. Most importantly, no widespread testing has been done. Significant, but less important, the main deaths are in the most risky population.

    Coronavirus

I bolded it in your post (if I'm understanding the change in counting procedure correctly), 1508: Hubei Province newly added 14,840 new cases of pneumonia (including 13332 clinically diagnosed cases)
  38. Darkfox021

Not totally ruined if they continue to report in this manner. Looks like ~1500 new cases under the old reporting method.

    Near-future quarterly financial projections

I think you're right (differences due to various reports). I used the Q3'19 Update Letter to populate back to Q3'18 and then had to dig to fill in Q1 and Q2 '18 (and I made an entry error for Q1'18 delivers). It's not as obvious to find accurate data in any one report other than the Q3'19 Update...

I should have just downloaded yours! We're ~350 off for some reason, will look deeper later. But, it seems Tesla is not only not unwinding the wave, they're perfecting it.

    Near-future quarterly financial projections

I tracked production and deliveries for 2018 and 2019. Interestingly, Tesla finished 2019 with less global inventory than 2018 (when Model 3 was US only). ETA- this is not fully inventory #'s, this would assume Q1 2018 started at 0.
