It’s not just those sold that year what about the 6,000,000 from each of the previous years for what 30 years so 180,000,000 but not all are still running so take 50% 175,000 per 90,000,000 cars Edited actually 280,000,000 registered vehicles in 2020

V11 is going to be HUGE!

Engineering projects get partial payments when they hit milestones, they do not get all the money upfront. Software that is purchased is released software not beta software.
  3. M

V11 is going to be HUGE!

people paid Tesla money for it on their word that it would be available. People don’t pay for software releases until it is released, or any engineering work until it is completed.

Grohmann Robots fly in to fix Station 4 FUBAR

Doesn’t loosing money on any car jeopardizes the future of Tesla?
  7. M

Grohmann Robots fly in to fix Station 4 FUBAR

So if Elon doesn’t mind selling them at a loss then why are there no $35000 model 3s available for those that want the $35000 car and the tax break? Just Elon blowing smoke as usual

    General Discussion: 2018 Investor Roundtable

Wonder who said this Historically, we have been able to generate significant media coverage of our company and our vehicles, and we believe we will continue to do so. To date, for vehicle sales, media coverage and word of mouth have been the primary drivers of our sales leads and have helped us...

    Musk’s burnout...

He states looks like we can do 20,000 this doesn't sound like a goal to me but a fact. And where did he come up with this number from when neither the Fremont nor Nevada lines where done? How many cars did they produce in the 4th quarter, I believe it was a little more the 2000 and that was...

    Musk’s burnout...

Setting an aggressive goal that you know will not be able to reached is a lie. One that has a slight chance is not a lie 3 months maybe, 6 months definitely. have we seen level 3 yet? As early as mid-2016, Tesla executives responsible for planning and building the Model 3 production line...

Tesla struggles to make 500K M3s while Ford makes 900K of just the "F" truck

The Bolt is made on the same production line as the Sonic, so it wouldn’t be hard to increase the number of Bolts. And on the flip side you can not even get a model 3 with anything other then black interior because Tesla doesn’t want to complicate the model 3’s production line.

Model 3 set to dominate it's category as early as next month

If I look at the chart I see Audi at 32% BMW at 33% and Tesla at 14% so how is it dominating?

Car and Driver Model 3 Test - Not Great

What exactly is these extra set of eyes seeing certainly not semi’s, fire trucks, or concrete barriers. So then AP is no different then the other driver assistant programs on other manufactures cars.
  15. M

Car and Driver Model 3 Test - Not Great

Well if you have to drive the car and you can not trust it then how is it making you safer? So explain what facts you have that proves it does make you safer
  16. M

Car and Driver Model 3 Test - Not Great

I’m not the one that is saying it does. I asked a question you are the one that said it does so I’m just trying to figure out how you came to this conclusion you must have some facts to back it up no?
  17. M

Car and Driver Model 3 Test - Not Great

What statistics are you basing this “It does” on? Are you comparing all cars $75,000 and up, with accidents on major highways since this is where majority of AP miles are used? Or are you taking statistics from all car accidents?
  18. M

Car and Driver Model 3 Test - Not Great

I don’t see other car manufactures blaming the following distance setting by a driver as part of the reason for the drivers death. And here I thought AP was suppose to make the world safer.

Production rate reveal... and a new announcement?

First Elon would need to find somebody to by those shares, SpaceX has already sold shares in the company last August and November, so you sure there is enough interest to buy that many Shares. And if Elon sold that many shares would he lose controlling interest in SpaceX?
  20. M

Car and Driver Model 3 Test - Not Great

Well as far as I know AP 2.0 does not read speed limit signs so it can not limit your speed to the speed limit. As far a pulling out in front, does Tesla even warn you about on coming cars or is it able to detect cars coming if you are at a stand still? Again as far as texting goes it's against...
  21. M

Car and Driver Model 3 Test - Not Great

Both of these are against the law so when you are caught you get a fine, so you are not allowed, you do it at your own risk. And since the law can not confirm what your following distance is set to then it should be up to the manufacture to not allow it
  22. M

Car and Driver Model 3 Test - Not Great

Then why does Tesla allow you to set distance to one at high rate of speed?
  23. M

Production rate reveal... and a new announcement?

And how do you know SpaceX has the money to buy these so called bonds? Do you have a link to SpaceX financials? Since it's private company you must have some inside information on their financials.

BMW says they can't mass produce EVs until 2020

The EV cars make up 1% of the car market, so that is not much of a market to give up. I don't see in the next 2 years while the other car makers start to ramp up that the market is going to change much. Mean while the legacy car makers will still be making money that will fund the ramp up of...

BMW says they can't mass produce EVs until 2020

But when your net profit is losing you 700 million a quarter how long are those investors going to stick around, specially when you can not hit any of your production numbers? How long are they going to believe the story?

Highest production VIN in the wild

And how much more will it cost them each month to insure the Tesla?
  29. M

Highest production VIN in the wild

And NUMMI under Toyota and GM was able to crank out 6000 cars a week, and Tesla is going to do 10,000 from this factory. I'll wait and see
  30. M

Highest production VIN in the wild

No I do not think they will get to 10,000 cars a without a $35,000 car, but again I don't think they will sell a $35,000 car
  31. M

Highest production VIN in the wild

Is Tesla selling a $35,000 version, so far I haven't seen one. Maybe when they do then you can start thinking about the top 20 automobiles. Also civic, escape, fusion are all in upper teens to lower 20's and people will magically find an extra 15-20,000 for a Tesla. And more and more people...
  32. M

Highest production VIN in the wild

So you think the same people that are buying Ford Fusion, Nissan Sentry/Altima, Honda Accord are going to start buying $50,000 cars

All the purchase agreements from Tesla say 50 miles

    Jaguar I-Pace

So when is Tesla's autonomous car going to be released. I'm pretty sure the iPace will be out before it.
  35. M

    Jaguar I-Pace

So your saying that Tesla has autonomous driving right now? Otherwise the hardware doesn't mean *sugar* if it's not working? I could put wings on a car and say it's a flying car, just waiting on the software and government regulations.
  36. M

    Jaguar I-Pace

They don't advertise that they do, so your point is?
  37. M

    Jaguar I-Pace

If it's autonomous and, take Elon's example, you summon it from California to New York, how are you going to clean it, if the camera's get dirty and can not be used along the way. You just going to fly to the location and clean the camera's so it can finish it's drive? Or is the autonomous...
  38. M

    Jaguar I-Pace

Planning for the future does it have redundant hardware. How’s it going to clean it’s cameras, when they are caked with snow and ice or dirt does it have heaters or washers?
  39. M

    Jaguar I-Pace

What good is autonomous hardware if you don’t have autonomous software to use that hardware

Video - Model X vs Jaguar I-Pace drag race commercial

Let’s see BMW had 2 billion in profits for Q3 of 2017 VW group had 1.2 billion in profits for Q3 of 2017 So yeah I can see how Tesla is slaughtering those cash cows
  41. M

Video - Model X vs Jaguar I-Pace drag race commercial

Just how many cars does Tesla sell a year? And what is that less then 1% of all car sales. So just how did Tesla mess up everyone’s cash cows?

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

I guess I should of put this way. Did any of these happen with less the 2000 cars being made how about if they call the standard stereo premium and discontinue the premium stereo but still charge you $5000 for PUP will you still be ok with it
  43. M

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

Did any of these happen after 1500 or so cars being built
  44. M

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

I’m just going by Tesla’s quote that they always had planned to go with textile at this point in production and was just wondering if you believed this. Edited to fix spelling
  45. M

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

So you believe from the start Tesla planned to build 1500 or so cars with Alcantara and then switch to textile Edit to fix spelling
  46. M

Change from alcantara to cloth on PUP???

If textile was the long term plan then why are/were all photos of the interior on the web site Alcantara. And what company in their right mind would build 1500 cars or so with one material then switch to another material

Highest production VIN in the wild

So Tesla is going to have car transports driving around neighborhoods delivering cars? Makes perfect sense. Or are they going to use trains to ship them to some destination and have the Tesla truck deliver them?
  48. M

Highest production VIN in the wild

But Toyota-Gm shipped them to dealers that had car lots. Where is Fremont going to shipped 10000 to?
  49. M

Highest production VIN in the wild

Actually Musk said “production rates in the last few days extrapolating to more than 1K per week.”
