    Supercharging newbie question

Re the Peak rate question - I don't know. There was no indication that there was any "peak" rate was involved, just the normal $1 per minute idle charge. Is there a way to tell? Not having the rate available outside of the car is pretty frustrating. Taking a look at my bill again (to see if...

    Supercharging newbie question

Gas around the upper Hudson Valley is about 4.79, so I guess I should count my blessings. Cost me over $50 to fill up my 2009 Forester yesterday! Yes, almost all of my charging is done at home and that costs about .16 Kwh (including delivery charges). My MY is averaging around 265 whm, so I...

    Supercharging newbie question

OK, my free supercharging miles/Kwh have finally been used up (after almost 2 years). Did my first "paid" supercharging this past week and have a question. When I selected the supercharging location, the car showed a price of .39 per Kwh. (That was a shock, last time I checked it was .29) Did...

Looks like the Android app is suffering the same issue.

Updated to Android app 4.8.0-1025, location is screwy now?

Got the same issue with my Android Tesla App 4.8.0=1-25. My wife's Android is on Tesla App software 4.7.1-927 and her view is the old one, close in. Both show the closest SC locations, which I really don't need to have be displayed by default.

Car Colorizer Allows You to Customize The Looks of Your Tesla

All the arguments about this are valid, don't want to discount any of them However, I'll try to be a little more constructive with a suggestion specifically about the colorizer How about linking a chosen color to a specific profile? Green car - my wife's profile, etc.

    Heat Consistency Worse After Update

"If there’s one thing I miss about an ICE vehicle, it’s the fully-functional climate controls." Agreed! But I don't think it's the lack of ICE, I think it's about the software. I can get plenty of heat if I set the cabin to 78. My MY HVAC system acts as if, once it reaches the set temp, it...

    Heat Consistency Worse After Update

I've always noticed that my MY does not do a good job of maintaining the cabin temp when it's cold out. Today I was on the highway for an hour, outside temp was avg 27F. Had the cabin set for 67, felt warm (had the seat heater on level 1). After a while I found my legs and feet getting cold...

Another Scheduled Departure Gotcha to Be Aware Of

I think we should continue to ask for improvements, push the capability envelope, etc. etc. and then press for allowing customization of the UI, so it could be much more personalized. Functions we personally do not need/want to see/interact with often could be hidden, moved, sized... Here's a...

Another Scheduled Departure Gotcha to Be Aware Of

Not sure where to put this on this board, but a function I'd like to see on Scheduled departure is to have the option to do it once and then cancel out afterwards. Not all of us have set schedules, we're not all commuting at the same time everyday or weekends. If I'm going on a long road trip...

Do Not Understand Tesla Rationale for Why There is No Sirius/XM in Model 3 or Y

Just to chime in, the only reason I want XM in my MY is the alternative method of delivery, ie satellite reception. Cell coverage is not universal, and not consistent outside of major metropolitan areas. XM is not perfect, but it's a good addition to the delivery methods, just like FM is. We...

1 year of free supper charging still continue

I'd check on your account at Tesla.com to see what they charged your CC. The price shows on my screen even though I'm still using up my free supercharging. At least it did in the past, I haven't really paid much attention to it recently. Your account should also show you how much SC you have left.

1 year of free supper charging still continue

Sept 2020 delivery, managed to squeeze 3K of supercharging out of them due to their FU's. I've got 250 miles left that shows expiring in March (2022). I have no idea how they arrived at that expiration date.

    Sat. Nav. Suggestions

I knew that before Tesla added it's waypoints function. I was just hoping that with the addition of waypoints we might be able to download our route before we get into the car. A guy can dream can't he?
  15. P

    Sat. Nav. Suggestions

I can confirm that sending different trips to Tesla via Google maps only sends the first stop in your created trip. (Or the car only accepts the first waypoint, not sure where the information gets dropped in the "share" process) I tried to send a google 8-waypoint trip and all that showed up...

    Two updates in one day!

That's the first thought that popped into my head when I saw the .7 notice!
  17. P

    Sat. Nav. Suggestions

I will give that a try (sending multiple google destinations), but I suspect the Tesla nav will just replace the first destination sent with the 2nd destination, not add the 2nd destination to the route. I'll report back and see. I have my fingers crossed though, this would be terrific.
  18. P

    Sat. Nav. Suggestions

I'm of the same mind as the OP. I like to take back roads, find out-of-the-way places, avoid the large highways whenever I plan a road trip. I've found ABRP very effective at planning circuitous exploration routes when used with Google Maps and all the research the internet can provide me at my...

    Holiday Update

"means mentally process" - Correct. The red lane markings are unambiguous - SOMETHING IS THERE, DON'T MOVE OVER. Don't have to process too much. It really doesn't matter if it's a car or a rhinoceros. You could always look in the mirror if you want old school, but the car's sensors seem to be...

    Holiday Update

Still getting used to the UI, but I have to mention that, all the complaints not withstanding, we are finally STARTING to get the ability to customize the screen. A teeny tiny baby step, and like all babies, there will be a few tears shed along the way. Just wish I could put diapers on the car...

    Holiday Update

Send them feedback directly??? How would one go about doing that and have any confidence the message was actually seen by a human? That's the only area Tesla does not exceed - customer relations.
  22. P

    Holiday Update

I can get used to the new interface - eventually. It's just a fact of digital life that UI's change and we all don't like to have to adjust to the "new" look & placement of things we were used to. And invariably the new UI screws up somethings that worked perfectly well. My largest issue is the...

    Stuck on 2021.36.8

Scott, do the soft reboot (dual button). It couldn't hurt. Nothing is done to the car software-wise before the download is complete and you give the go ahead for the installation. I've found the soft reboot to cure many ills and do it after new software installations. I also do it about once a...

    Stuck on 2021.36.8

Got notified 2021.44.6 is ready to download (from 36.5.1) Too bad the car is at the shop waiting for a new tire to be delivered. Anyone know if this new version includes the holiday stuff?

    Stuck on 2021.36.8

If vision cars are getting far fewer updates than vision/radar cars, I sympathize. My vision/radar car (048XXX) has been stuck un-upated since Sept.

    Stuck on 2021.36.8

I agree with all your points about the growing monumental task Tesla has. If the distribution is by design (which I'm sure it is) at the very least Tesla should be explaining that design to us, we're all (mostly) adults. If we understand the reason, there would be a lot more patience. But as we...

Relaying Wi-Fi to detached garage at a distance

I'm using an Orbi 1200 mesh system. Works fine over a distance of about 80 from base to satellite. I would say that a difference of a few feet left or right of the placement of units can make a big difference.

    Stuck on 2021.36.8

As for the same build range, I've got a 2020 MY, Sept delivery VIN 045XXX, so I don't think that supports your theory. I did have the main computer replaced in June though.

    Stuck on 2021.36.8

In the same boat. MY VIN x45xxx, 2021.36.5.1. It's very frustrating to see that there are multiple updates available with no way of determining why you're not getting them. But Tesla trained us well, we got used to the delay/lack of communication/etc. during the purchase process and/or the...

Will regenerative braking go over 'charging limit'?

I believe this is what takes place - The Battery Management System reduces the amount of power allowed "into" the battery from whatever source (Supercharger, home charger or regen) when the battery pack is not within it's optimum operating temp. range. Someone more versed in this may be able to...

Will regenerative braking go over 'charging limit'?

Just found this thread and wanted to chime in. Got a 2020 MYLR. Live at the top of a mtn/hill about 800' above the main road, partially paved. I normally charge to 75%, immediately when I arrive home (after climbing the mtn) During the warmer months, I just get in and drive the car without...

    Power trunk liftgate stutter

My MY (X48XXX) doesn't do that. Since you're having an appointment anyway, add it. At least you'll be on record that there's an issue.

Tesla App reducing charging current by itself?

I noticed a similar issue on my MY the other day. Played with the new app and reduced my amperage to 23 (from 24) just to check it out. Set it back to 24 but no matter what I did with the app, it would not hold 24, it kept going back to 23 when I checked in. Finally went to the car and set it...

Can I leave my car outside year round?

While the BMS does not warm the battery unless charging or navigating to a SC, etc., you will be charging at home which could take a number of hours depending on use and charger size. When ICE cars are parked after use, the heat dissipates fairly quickly yet rodents, etc. manage to "snuggle...

Can I leave my car outside year round?

You might want to be aware that a warm battery, relative to the ambient temp, can attract creatures looking for any warmth.

    Short Sleep

Anyone experiencing short sleep patterns today? (After the server outage on Nov 19, 2021) My MY (Vin 048xxx) 2021.32.22 has started sleeping for about 2 minutes, wakes up, then goes back to sleep for 2~ min, then wakes up, back to sleep, etc. etc. etc.. Did this this morning for about an hour...

App is getting 500 server error. Cant connect.

Asking the media to not sensationalize anything is like asking the sun not to shine, it's what they/it do! My wife drove our MY around town all day yesterday blissfully unaware of the server issue.

First significant problem with LR AWD after 2 years and 28k miles

Just finished spraying rodent deterrent around my parking space and inside the frunk battery access compartment and wheel wells. I've got my mouse traps baited and waiting (and working). It's an outside, covered but not enclosed space. I've had issues with mice before with my other cars, I see...

Rear passenger unbuckled alert with seats folded down

My 2 cents - my MY VIN (048XXX) 17K miles, is driven 99% of the time with the back seats down flat. That's because we load the car up many many times to the gills with heavy stuff and never have we had this warning. I sat in the center back seat the other day and the seat belt notification came...

When will my car get updates? Its been AGES already!

TeslaFi reports that 23% (319) of the MYs using TeslaFi have 2021.32.22. But there's hope, that number went down overnight from 330. I feel for Danzel though, only 10 MYs are still on his version.

Do Not Understand Tesla Rationale for Why There is No Sirius/XM in Model 3 or Y

I gotta chime in here. I love road trips and while my MY is my favorite road trip car so far, one failing is depending on cell service for music (the other is the clearance). Very often, where I travel the cell service is "sketchy", the music cuts out and then once I get service back, the music...

    Safety Score

Finally Google has the updated app. Installed it and found my score to be 98, without any special monitoring! I'm happy with that. Will it get me into the first batch of release? I've waited this long, so no biggie if I don't get selected.

First long trip in a MY. Am I being overly cautious on ABRP?

1 - the free version is very capable. As you use it and compare it to your real experience, adjusting the parameters can make it pretty spot on. I'd just like to be able to support the people who are creating it with an annual cost of maybe $25. 2 - The Tesla browser is NOT only available while...

First long trip in a MY. Am I being overly cautious on ABRP?

1 - No, you don't but I've found it to be very useful. I'll probably subscribe. 2 - I guess you can, I've tried and it's very slow. But it is also dependent on cell coverage. ABRP allows you to export your trip to an excel spreadsheet. With a few cosmetic tweaks, you can print out a very...
