Anyone with ev01+ 18” wheels for M3 performance could share their actual added range miles, please?

Does anyone have insights into the best "happy medium" tire between performance, comfort and lower rolling resistance? Would something like the Continental PureContact LS perform better than the MXM4s? I went from the OEM PS4S to 19" wheels and DWS06 Plus on my M3P and noticed a minor decrease...

    WTB: 18" or 19" wheels for 2020 M3P

I'm looking to buy a set of wheels for my 2020 M3P. Prefer black or grey, flow forged or fully forged, or 19" sport wheels that fit on M3P. No wider than 9". With or without tires and TPMS is fine, just let me know what you have. Located in NorCal or SoCal. Thanks.

2020 M3P 20" Performance wheels (Satin black) with Michelin Pilot Sport 4s

I went with Titan 7 T-S5s 19x9.5, they are fully forged wheels. In depends on what your looking for (better range, better performance, more comfort, aesthetics), but going down to a 18in or 19in wheel is generally what most people do. A thinner, smaller wheel will typically get you better range...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

I am unsure where they were made, any idea on how to check? But yea, so far I like them. Road noise seems the same or slightly better and definitely a bit more comfortable than the 235/35/20 on rougher roads. The tire noise never bothered me as much as the wind noise I get from my driver side, I...

Thanks! Yes from the research I have done so far, I think the MPP Comfort adjustable or non-adjustable is what I want to go with.

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

It was a tad more than I expected, but I can live with it. The look isn't bad, I guess I would just like a bit more protection for the wheel face. Might get wider tires in the future but for now I am happy. Here are some photos

Thanks @MODEL+ for hooking me up with a new set of shoes! Titan 7 T-S5 19x9.5 in Machine Black. Tires are Continental DWS06 Plus 245/40/19 Next mod is coilovers!

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

That's interesting. Yea it's too early to tell for me right now, I just did a 20 mile drive at various speeds and was pretty aggressive on driving seeing what the tires can do. I got a lower wh/mi than I would have with my old set up driving more conservatively, but I can see the higher speed...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

I went with DWS06 plus in 245/40/19. So it's a bit of a stretch, just got them mounted will post some pics later. But actually these tires have a thinner tread width than my previous PS4s (8.8" vs 8.3") and they are all season vs summer so I'm expecting same range or even a slight improvement...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Are there any settings I need to change (like wheel configuration or anything else) if I am moving from OEM 20x8.5 to 19x9.5 wheels? Overall diameter of wheel/tire is slightly increasing from 26.5 to 26.7.
  23. SirLaz

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

I have my wheels already, sitting in my garage currently. I got Titan 7 T-S5 19x9.5 +34. Originally wanted the 19x9 +35, but backordered 2-3 months and I have no patience haha.
  24. SirLaz

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

That makes sense, thanks for all your insight very helpful! I think I've made up my mind and will go for the DWS06 plus in 245/40/19, seems like a good happy medium for me. I will post an update once I get my wheels wrapped and on my car.
  25. SirLaz

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

That would be sweet, although I wonder how the aerodynamics of the wheel will affect range going from 8.5" to 9.5", there might be some poke which might affect range but that is unavoidable. I am thinking of taking the middle ground and getting the DWS06 plus so a high performance all season. I...
  26. SirLaz

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

That is great, and your setup looks really clean, much better than stock IMO! I wouldn't mind a ~5% range hit, but that is prob my max. I'm at 300 wh/mi right now with stock 20s and PS4s. If I can keep my range I would be happy, if I get better range I would be very pleased. I will be dropping...
  27. SirLaz

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Gotcha, that makes a lot of sense. What is your wh/mi with that wheel/tire setup? I am in a similar boat where this is a daily driver for me, so comfort and noise are important but i still value performance its probably comfort > performance > noise.
  28. SirLaz

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

How do you like the PureContact LS? Good in terms of road noise and ride comfort?
  29. SirLaz

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

The tread width on those A/S3+ is 8.5 but the section width is 9.8. Since the FK510s have a 0.1" bigger section width I would think the stretch would be less? Might just have to pull the trigger to confirm, the FK510s are cheap too.
  30. SirLaz

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

For the FK510 245/40/19, the tread width is 8.4" and section width is 9.9". So you are saying since the tread width is a lot smaller than the section width the tire will look more stretch?

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Yeah... it seems like such a variable thing. Some pictures I see they look pretty stretched (like yours) and others they seem to be fine. That is why I was wondering what tire, as some tires has more section width than others. I am looking at getting either FK510s or DWS06 plus, both of which...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

What tire were you running here? Considering the same setup (19x9.5 245/40/19) with the Falken FK510s. Wondering if it would look similar to this or more/less stretched.
  34. SirLaz

Model 3 Tires, Tire Sizes, Types, make / model recommendations, tire discussions, etc

Good point. The DWS06 plus are significantly smaller in terms of width than the PS4S, so it will be interesting to see how the fit is. Crazy because I am on the OEM 235/35/20 PS4S right now and going to a 255/35/19 DWS06 plus actually has a smaller tread width, so in theory should have better...
  35. SirLaz

Model 3 Tires, Tire Sizes, Types, make / model recommendations, tire discussions, etc

Sweet, looking forward to your update. I hope it works out for you! I have seen a few posts here of people running 255/40 and it is tight but it fits. Might experience some rubbing at the beginning of the tire's life until the tread wears down a bit. I am in between going 255/35 and 265/35 at...
  36. SirLaz

Model 3 Tires, Tire Sizes, Types, make / model recommendations, tire discussions, etc

If you are getting/have the 19x9 TS5, 245/40 will be perfect for a blend of aesthetics, performance and minimizing range loss. And if you are coming from the stock P wheels then I would imagine no efficiency hit at all since this combo will be a significant weight reduction. But if you are...
  37. SirLaz

Model 3 Tires, Tire Sizes, Types, make / model recommendations, tire discussions, etc

Ouch yea that is quite the hit on efficiency. I am coming from the OEM 20" P wheels and PS4s (about 295 wh/mi lifetime with 10k miles) so I hoping for a similar efficiency with this new setup. A different tire might honestly make the road noise and efficiency better, those A/S3+ are pretty heavy...
  38. SirLaz

Model 3 Tires, Tire Sizes, Types, make / model recommendations, tire discussions, etc

How are you liking the wheel/tire setup so far? I have been doing a lot of research and I did find out the the A/S 3+ are quite wide tires in terms of tread width, they are 9.9" for the 265/35/19. I think I have finally made up my mind and I am going to mount my wheels with 255/35/19...

FS (SoCal): Titan 7 T-S5 19"x9.5" +34 Machine Black forged wheels

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Are you at stock height here or lowered? I am getting the same wheel setup and deciding between 245/40/19 and 255/35/19 tires right now. These look good to me!

2020 M3P 20" Performance wheels (Satin black) with Michelin Pilot Sport 4s

Found this post of another user on the forum with the same fitment, they had no issues. https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/posts/5049142/
  42. SirLaz

Model 3 Tires, Tire Sizes, Types, make / model recommendations, tire discussions, etc

Yea it almost looks less to me but probably just the angle of the photos. I think the middle ground for me is going 255/35, I am giving up some sidewall but its still more than the set up I am coming from now. Thanks for sharing and keep me updated on how you like it!
  43. SirLaz

Model 3 Tires, Tire Sizes, Types, make / model recommendations, tire discussions, etc

Thanks for this, not sure if I can't get over that stretch I am not a fan and it looks like the wheel's face is a lot more exposed. Still on the fence, but seems like 265 is the right option.
  44. SirLaz

Model 3 Tires, Tire Sizes, Types, make / model recommendations, tire discussions, etc

Wow, looks amazing! Yeah the poke is really not bad but I know I am picky at about my car so if I didn't like it, it would bug me lol. Im at stock height so do you think the poke would be minimized or more exaggerated? I am actually planning on getting MPP coilovers too, but that wont be for a...
  45. SirLaz

Model 3 Tires, Tire Sizes, Types, make / model recommendations, tire discussions, etc

That makes sense. And the 235 isn't too stretched on your wheels in your opinion? I think a 235 on a 9" wide wheel is similar to putting a 245 on a 9.5" wheel and judging by the pic you posted, it doesn't look too stretched to me but hard to tell from one pic.
  46. SirLaz

Model 3 Tires, Tire Sizes, Types, make / model recommendations, tire discussions, etc

Thanks for the follow up, congrats on the new setup! Yeah, I suspected the front may poke out a lil bit more than I would have desired, but I can live with that. And that efficiency really isn't bad. I have OEM 20" performance wheels with the OEM PS4s and I am getting around 300 wh/mi. And...
  47. SirLaz

Model 3 Tires, Tire Sizes, Types, make / model recommendations, tire discussions, etc

Gotcha. And what made you switch back to the 235 instead of something in the middle like 245 or 255? I was originally supposed to get 19x9 wheels and I was going to put 245/40 on them, but due to backorder I went with 19x9.5 instead. I would love to still put the 245/40s on, but I am afraid...

Model 3 Tires, Tire Sizes, Types, make / model recommendations, tire discussions, etc

What wh/mile were you getting with the 265/35 tires on?
