2022 Q2 production Model 3 missing matrix headlights?

Picked it up. Yes to Matrix headlights. Best built 3, out of four I've used and three I've owned as well.

2022 Q2 production Model 3 missing matrix headlights?

Picking our 2499xx in three hours, have been assured multiple times it has the Matrix lights. Just sold our early '22 for 58k to a local dealer!

    Lime Rock Park - 59.5!

Nice time and nice driving. I know Lime Rock well from driving in iRacing. Good track.

Are you planning to own post-warranty?

We were planning on keeping past warranty as our original '18 had zero issues. Market for used cars made us sell and pick up another in January. Probably flipping again that car in a week for another 3 and making 4k. I wouldn't have a big worry keeping these cars long term. I think the...

2022 Q2 production Model 3 missing matrix headlights?

My SA said our incoming car with 249xxx vin has matrix headlights.

2022 Q2 production Model 3 missing matrix headlights?

Assigned a VIN now, 2499x. Haven't reached out to a SA yet to determine lights status but will at some point but good to hear might be matrix headlights.

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Nevermind I see some cars in Q2 2022 are being shipped with old lights.

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

I thought LR 3 has been coming with Matrix headlights for awhile now? Not the case? What is being referred to here for someone who hasn't been following along?

    Second Tesla Considerations

Girl magnet then for yours ;) In all seriousness though, 6 years is a long time from now for that scenario and maybe in that time I won't even want her pumping gas and honestly I hope gas isn't so subsidized and it will make more sense for young drivers to have old Leafs or Kona EVs, etc
  10. HeatproofGenie

    Second Tesla Considerations

Partly because it could allow us to potentially go fully EV and hence sell the 4Runner. Additionally the Rivian has some pretty amazing suspension and seems like it can fulfill about 90% of peoples need for a sports car, sure no track car but for hustling back roads it seems to be that good...

    Second Tesla Considerations

I'd probably look for a single motor Ioniq5 or Ev6 if it were me. Something that has more cargo capacity and qualifies for full fed rebate. Different situation in that we have two cars currently but one ICE, similarly though my wife and I would prefer to have each have an EV for day to day...

Hail sucks. Good job protecting your car. Much better to just not have to deal with damage/insurance all around.

Looks like they were able to salvage the steel framing at least.

Any Differences in 2022 Model 3s between Q1 and Q2?

Very early Q1 cars did not have Ryzen chip, 15v Li-Ion battery or the heated wiper dock. Main thing so far that I think could be different from Q1 to Q2 is double pane glass on rear windows however Tesla has not done that yet AFAIK.

Possible to lock M3 with cellphone in car?

Ah okay. Haven't had an iPhone for 10 years.
  16. HeatproofGenie

Possible to lock M3 with cellphone in car?

Turn off bluetooth or just put phone in airplane mode and then use the keycard or the fob if you buy one to lock car. I do this sometimes when mountain biking and don't want to carry my phone.

Sadly, no. Everything looks exactly the same. The lawsuit regarding debris removal was dismissed yesterday though so hopefully things will start to happen. Win for Tesla but also all the others who suffered losses. Boulder County judge dismisses lawsuit against Marshall Fire debris removal...

PSA: Base M3LR price increases by $1K [03.10.2022]

Helps with resale but tough for people who are on the fence of purchasing. Lot's of other competitors out now too and they qualify for Fed rebate, will be interesting to see what happens with prices going forward.

    Model 3 performance ride quality

I don't think the LR or P has very good damping and I feel the bump stops are too big and not progressive. I will say our new '22 LR does ride much better than the 18 it replaced but I think Tesla could massively improve suspension performance if they wanted to. I will say that the extra heft...

I agree but it did work out for him.

Has anyone had a problem with dirty door sills after driving on wet roads?

Whether they do that much is debatable, I found they helped on my old '18 but they didn't budge on that car. I wiped down everything with alcohol first and used the adhesive promotor provided as well. As always ymmv.
  25. HeatproofGenie

To 19s or not to 19s? That is the question!

So on point 2, the 18"s could be better as that is unsprung mass. Wether or not that small amount of weight is discernible is another question, likely it's not, but I'd say that variable is not small enough to ignore completely.

Average age of Model 3 owners?

I didn't use voice commands much before v11, I use them often now. Mostly for heated seats and steering wheel as I often use those without wanting to turn on climate. So confirmation for ya that voice commands do work for that stuff.

Average age of Model 3 owners?

Floor Mats, what to do with old ones?

For what it's worth I got my head down by the pedal and looked for any interference when placing my mats over the stock ones. No worries and wasn't even close to having the accelerator pedal touching the mat over the stock one.

I just kept them installed under my 3D Maxpider mats. More sound deadening ;)

A New Idea for Glass Roof Tint

It might trap some heat but I can say that the addition of that material between the shade and roof did make a difference from just the shade alone which did make a difference from nothing at all. Worth it my opinion. I'm in CO at 5k feet and above with summers that have months at a time in...

    Skid plate/undercarriage shield on 2022

My early '22 LR has the hard plastic front to back. I was very surprised to see this as I hadn't seen it mentioned much and very impressed with how much better it is than the old fiber junk.
  33. HeatproofGenie

How can I encourage insurance to declare a total loss on my Model 3?

Also consider you would be filing for diminished value after repair.
  34. HeatproofGenie

A New Idea for Glass Roof Tint

I wish Tesla just had a metal roof option. In my last 3 I had the sun shade and then a layer of the foil bubble wrap insulation material in between the shade and glass. That worked well but it's a bit of a bodge. In to see how well roof tint works.
  35. HeatproofGenie

Picked up my Tesla in early December, worst car I've ever owned.

My 22 LR with 397 miles has a lifetime avg of 253Wh/m right now. That's in winter Colorado. Two trips to go skiing and plenty of spirited driving. Sure this is on 18"s but you are near double the Wh/m. Just another data point that something is wrong with your car.

Good attitude! I encourage you to try driving in Hold mode.

Shot forward when parked [unintended acceleration - resolved by OP]

Nice job not being too defensive OP and accepting the situation. Real answer to avoid this is to just not use creep mode. I take it you are new to having an EV? Give yourself time to adapt to one pedal driving and I guarantee you too will be a convert.

Upgrade to a 2021 performance from a 2022 long range?

Only you can answer that one. Check out the other current thread about someone who has a P on order wondering if they should consider LR, lots of good opinions in there. That's what they all are though, personal opinions as each situation and set of priorities is different. Really the...

Going to order a new Model 3 performance. Should I consider the long range AWD?

Here's another thing. I most wanted track mode for a little good natured tail out action when it snows. I was set to buy a P this time around but then all the talk of BBB was happening and the LR was under the 55k price cap for sedans. That price differential couldn't be ignored. Now here we...
  40. HeatproofGenie

Going to order a new Model 3 performance. Should I consider the long range AWD?

Depends is the car just going to be a daily or will it possibly see track use? If yes to track use then for sure performance. The LR is a great daily and plenty fast for any city driving. If you really want to track a Performance you'll likely be swapping suspension wheels/tires as stock of...
  41. HeatproofGenie

Does a Model 3 first production with low VIN (#567) increase value?

I think if you had a VIN in the first 10 (or so) range then you would be able to get more for it after that I don't think so. It's a mass produced car after all. Good luck though.

    Model Year 2022 Refresh M3/MY

Have any cars came with the rear acoustic glass yet? How about the airbag addition? Haven't heard much about those features, all Ryzen... I sold our '18 3LR too early and had to take delivery in Jan and got an Intel car which honestly has been fine and the 22 car is quite an upgrade from the...

Buying a model 3 in 2022. Is it worth it?

LFP battery SR+ is a better car than the LION SR+ in my opinion, has more functional range, longer functional life, etc. Sure maybe it's a bit slower but most reports of comparisons from people and they find it hard to tell an acceleration difference.

New Service & Sales Center: Superior, CO

I drive by a couple times a week and as far as I can tell as of last Thursday nothing has happened there. Guessing that until investigation and insurance appraisal is complete nothing can happen.

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

My plan when I was considering a performance was to buy some light forged 18" wheels and then sell the 20" Uberturbines. I think the 20" stock Uberturbine wheels do look good but they are relatively heavy and impact ride quality negatively. I also already have 18" snow tires and 20" tires are...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

I was going to get a Performance this time around but then all the talk of BBB and it's price cap swayed me to just gone LR again. Real talk, LR3 is faster than most urban driving can support as is. If you still want more than acceleration boost is there.
  50. HeatproofGenie

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

I think we've decided to just go ahead with our 158 series vin, sans Ryzen, as well. Not once was I dissatisfied with the Intel chip in our now gone '18 3 so all will be good. Waiting another month to get new chip and battery which wouldn't even be guaranteed then would be onerous for us as...
