What exactly is the 1146 Alert?

hi folks, i once also had many of those 1144/46 alerts day after day and finally member warden_clyffe modified my PEM/fan connection by replacing the original fan connction terminal as discribed above. now i am very happy with this solid solition and never ever had an alert since then again...

yepp, i also feel that 18x LVC is the important designation. i will get me one and just try (but not via amazon, sorry...). thanks h.

Which Garmin GPS antenna? (the 2nd...)

thank you, but sorry, i can not find this "19S062037" model # on the web. i don´t know whether this part# is essential. part # 010-00321-36 or 010-00321-31 you find very often. ...means that my shown model will probably match when prepared for the actual connector on my roadster? what about...

Which Garmin GPS antenna? (the 2nd...)

hi there, i obviously have to replace my garmin gps antenna and found THIS here: 010-00321-36 GPS-Empfänger 18x-LVC, 5 m Kabel Garmin is it the correct model? that required voltage level (4 - 5.5 VDC) makes me hesitate. our cars handle 12 volts... thanks for advice! holger

Function + correct position of 15 A fuse near trunk?

hi folks, i checked the 15 A fuse in that black fuse box in the back of my 2.0 near the trunk (right side, see picture). unfortunately i (Holger, the fool...) did not memorize the correct position of that fuse. the 2nd slot from above i assume but i am not absolutely sure. could you perhaps...

    Battery service alert ID:7 - should/can I ignore?

thank you warden_clyffe for your profound explanation and reassurance! ;) i wonder why no one else among the US club members had this fault yet (or posted about yet...).

    Battery service alert ID:7 - should/can I ignore?

hi folks, since about a week my car shows that alert as above in the headline when starting it. the red "fault" symbol in the cockpit stays permantly glowing. a buddy told me the reason for this fault i as loosen clinched measurement connection in the main battery and some day to many older...

    Damned! #1144-alert again after service!

yes, but all my thoughts here are about modding the plugs down at the fan only, not the connector into the PEM...

    Damned! #1144-alert again after service!

thanks a lot for your polite offer! i will consider. issue waterproof: a buddy of mine (technician) is rather skeptic about waterproof connectors. in case of moisture inside the plug housing - however it got in there (condensation for instance) - the interoir would dry much harder than a not...
  14. Holger

    Damned! #1144-alert again after service!

    1. the fan is equipped only with strands copper wires 2. this connection can easily be made waterproof 3. the fan pulls up to 25 A current maximum so for me a heavy duty srew joint connection for those currents should always be superior to any delicate plug connection.
  15. Holger

    Damned! #1144-alert again after service!

i ment this sort of easy, cheap and proper connection between fan and PEM wires...

Message "Trunk is ajar" is missing, schematic indication on touch sreen too

yes, maybe so. i will have a complete update anyway next week in my service center (hope my car will accept the CAC of the swapped 2nd hand batterie then at last...).
  20. Holger

Message "Trunk is ajar" is missing, schematic indication on touch sreen too

yes, the trunk light works. when i pull the plug from the switch it goes out and starts glowing when the plug is inserted again.

Message "Trunk is ajar" is missing, schematic indication on touch sreen too

hi folks, new (small) trouble on my 2.0! since my last self service (PEM plus motor cleaned, rear fan replaced) i do not get that message "Trunk is ajar" anymore when the car is beeing started and it´s s tail is open. also the indication (red trunk) in the schematic picture of the car on the...

    Damned! #1144-alert again after service!

yes bart, a buddy is working on a much better connector version we want install in our cars. i think i will wait and install that solid plugs when available. @ x.l.r.8: i agree to your logic thoughts but many others say that the roadster alert system is not logic at all and some strange alerts...

    Damned! #1144-alert again after service!

i will certainly check the plugs soon. some further information: the alerts do not happen immediately after starting a ride. they start after everything has warmed up a bit, aprox. after 15-20 miles and then after i sucked heavy power from the battery occured by fast accelaration or high...

    Damned! #1144-alert again after service!

hmm...i am confused... IP1144 is a typical fan problem alert. right? and the fan blow is a separate air cooling circuit which has nothing common with any other liquid coolant circuit. the front based liquid cooling system supports the batterie and air con only. very strange... BTW: is that...

    Damned! #1144-alert again after service!

hi folks, i feel helpess and sadden. two weeks without any trouble after a self made service on my 2.0 the car spontaneously announced that 1144-alert ("power train problem. service required") many times again yesterday after some dozends of miles cruising. the motor temperature was 76°/169 F...

    #1144 PEM fan problem

installed a brand new fan last week - everything is fine now! no 1144/46-alerts anymore! my buddy hooked the old fan on voltage and controlled the current. after some minutes the fan began to draw a significant higher current. so the old fan seemed to be definitely the malefactor! if you have...

yes, it did! the old battery showed <129 Ah. today i found 130,70 Ah on the screen.

made that procedure yesterday but IT DID NOT WORK! :(
  32. Holger

Car does not find new CAC after battery exchange - help please!

yes, different. 2.0 is definitely ON in position P and key stays untouched in ON position in the starter lock too.
  33. Holger

Car does not find new CAC after battery exchange - help please!

leaving the car in P-position in between (for instance for peeing...) would be ok, right?
  34. Holger

    What models/years would you avoid?

consider the special model variations also. i drive a 2.0 "signature 250" with special features that other models do not have in a limited edition of 250 cars only. i assume - and many others too - that the value of this model will be rated higher once than the "normal" cars.
  35. Holger

Car does not find new CAC after battery exchange - help please!

i think i already drove down the battery from a full range charge under 20% - but it did definitely NOT trigger the recalculation...:(
  37. Holger

Car does not find new CAC after battery exchange - help please!

thanx snoop, i will try that procedure. moderate driving recommended or would it not matter how slowly or fast and furiously i run down the battery? BTW: rather stupid, impractical electronic management/software. right?
  38. Holger

Car does not find new CAC after battery exchange - help please!

hmm...i am not sure whether i did. i think it was more than 5% left. but which 100% do you mean? 100% total full battery = end of range or performance charging? or 100% standard charging/ideal range? (also: 5% of total content/capacity or 5% rest of ideal range?). i assume, you ment 100%...

Car does not find new CAC after battery exchange - help please!

hello experts, in october 2017 i had a battery exchange on my 2.0 roadster "signature 250" , built in 2010. by occasion i got a fine used one with 149 Ah CAC. my old finallly had 129 Ah only. till now after months and 2000 miles with the better battery the car still has not accepted the new CAC...

    #1144 PEM fan problem

but the PEM was cleaned ins spring and PEM-temperature was moderate/cool when the 1144- alert happened. i assume i have a combined fan cooling the motor and the PEM.

    #1144 PEM fan problem

hi folks, i am a new member here living in germany. i am driving a 2.0 signature and also get the 1144 message frequently but the circumstances are a strange: yesterday i was moderately cruising at a winter outdoor temperature of only 44° F. after approx. 1 hour cruising the display startet...
