Real life experience with Xcelerate warranty?

Also, do you mean you added 10 years from the date of the warranty purchase? Or is it 10 years from car build date (effectively Dec 2026)?

Real life experience with Xcelerate warranty?

If you don’t mind sharing, what was your mileage roughly at the time and what was the cost of that warranty?

Real life experience with Xcelerate warranty?

I have a ‘17 X and I went with 6 years/75k miles. I only drive around a thousand miles per month so I thought this made the most sense for me.

Real life experience with Xcelerate warranty?

You can try "XcelerateTMC". I actually just purchased a warranty through XCare yesterday and the referral code field seemed to not be working when trying to apply the discount. I ended up calling and spoke with Brent (frequent poster here from Xcare) and he said to just go ahead with the...

I don't agree with all of your arguments, but I one for one appreciate your thoughts. Nothing you said is completely irrational, and I hope you continue to contribute with the same candor. I think hearing both the bull and bear cases to TSLA is valuable.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Looks like this article was time stamped at 7:29 pm EST, so that was before the news this afternoon from the sheriff and other officials, along with the headlines of closing most operations on CNBC and other outlets. Will be interesting how this plays out, but I have feeling Elon will ignore the...

Does anyone know how to adjust the volume of the text messaging read back with the new update? It blasts loud in my X and I can’t figure out a way to make it softer.

Yellow screen? Force Tesla to Replace it!

I'm reasonably sure this is not his "belief" - but rather his mandated "stance". He's just looking out for his client, Tesla, that is his job after all. It's unlikely he truly believes this is not a warranty item.

Yellow screen? Force Tesla to Replace it!

So far the problem is confined to S and X manufactured roughly between the years of 2015 to early 2019 (i think? not sure of exact dates)
  25. R

Yellow screen? Force Tesla to Replace it!

Agree 100%. They are simply gambling that the costs to only offer this to those that threaten arbitration is less than the costs of repairing thousands of screens. To their credit, that calculation so far is probably correct. Although, they might not be considering reputation damages and the...

I think this is very fair, and it will preserve your interests. How did he accept these? Did he just send an email to you? Or perhaps a letter on company letterhead? I hope you have some kind of solid documentation of him agreeing to these terms, a gentleman's agreement over the phone would...

  31. R

Yellow screen? Force Tesla to Replace it!

I think that's accurate but incomplete. Those instances where the screen was replaced if the UV fix did not work were attached to arbitration cases. At this point, I don't think they are doing any screen replacements under goodwill.

Yellow screen? Force Tesla to Replace it!

If it covers parts of the navigational map, and impairs the visibility of parts of the screen, one could easily argue that it is no longer purely "cosmetic". To me anything covering parts of the map decreases functionality, making it no longer a cosmetic only issue.

MX17 - FalconWing Door weather stripping deteriorating - Not covered by Warranty

Sorry to hear about your experience. The Tesla of today is not the same as the Tesla pre Model 3. They are more and more likely to refuse repairs under warranty, even issues they used to consider a warranty item. Take the yellow border for example, this used to be a warranty item, now it is...

Yellow screen? Force Tesla to Replace it!

Ouch, sorry to hear that. Did Tesla provide evidence that sunlight caused the damage? I have no legal background, but from a quick internet search - google “burden of proof on warranties” - the overall consensus would seem that generally, to avoid its obligation under the warranty policy...

News for Model X owners with the dreaded shudder

When requesting this repair, do you need to go on test drive with the service tech to show them the problem? Yellow screen? Force Tesla to Replace it!

Your case is very different because as I understand it, you are asking for a refund. Is there are reason you didn't pursue arbitration to begin with? You might be the only person I've seen here that has actually PAID for a replacement screen while under warranty.

  48. R

Yellow screen? Force Tesla to Replace it!

Yes, if you mean fixed under warranty. No, if you are willing to accept a goodwill repair, at some point in time, which may or may not work, and which may only be temporary.
  49. R

Yellow screen? Force Tesla to Replace it!

I'm not surprised. Do you have pics of your screen before taking it in? I was curios as to the severity of the condition on yours.
  50. R

Yellow screen? Force Tesla to Replace it!

Probably so. Their goal is to frame this as a goodwill fix, that way if it comes back, they are under no obligation to fix should their goodwill run out. I’d continue to force the issue of it being a warrantable item.
