    Enhanced AutoPilot (EAP) Has Returned!

I'd call this full on capitulation / admission that FSD is nowhere near ready. They've carved most of the features and gutted FSD IMO.

    Washington State Waiting Room

You ordered an MYLR; summer vs AS is an MYP issue afaik.

How is everyone charging their AirPods with the wireless charger?

Prime example of a problem that doesn't really need to be solved. Charge them at home or with a wired lightning cable. The End.

    Recent MYP Delivery Estimates

Word of advice after watching the shitshow this fall - get your winter wheel/tire situation sorted now, well before they're needed. It was a dumpster fire this past fall for Tesla owners scrambling to find anything in stock wrt dedicated winters. Perhaps this year will be different but I...

    model Y paint doesn’t match

My 2013 Ford C-Max had a similar paint mismatch "feature", specifically the plastic front and rear covers were faintly yellowish. It didn't seem to worsen over time thankfully but it always bothered me a bit.

Model Y LR vs P comfort

Sample size of 1 but the few test drives of a 2021 MYLR with 20" Inductions was noticeably more bouncy and unsettled than my 2022 / Michelin Pilot all season equipped MYP. The MYP is by no means a plush ride but all the handwringing and teeth gnashing by people that have one on order and haven't...

    Does this look right?

If only it were in my profile ;-) Seattle area, summer is fairly delayed this year, its been cool and wet (which is fine by me honestly).

Shouldn't Tesla deduct my Trade-in before taxes are calculated?

No disagreement. My point was a bit more pedantic in response to jrandorin's post. Arizona collected taxes even though the car was delivered to me here in Washington. Arizona issued the title and some type of temporary plate before it was loaded up on the transport trailer. It was then...

Shouldn't Tesla deduct my Trade-in before taxes are calculated?

Actually that's not completely accurate IME. Bought a car from a dealer in AZ in 2020, they added AZ taxes and of course charged me. When registering in the state of WA, I had to pay sales tax again which broke down to what my local tax rate on the vehicle would have been if purchased locally...

    Does this look right?

Last couple months of stats for June, May , April, top to bottom, from Teslamate. Your data sample size is probably too low to be useful at this point and for sure the heat is going to impact vs where I live.

    Another price increase

Recap without even reading: "OMG can't believe it's so expensive" "Wow glad I ordered xx months ago" "I should sell my used Tesla, its worth moar!" "Tesla are price gouging" "Definitely not worth at this price" "I'm looking at <insert vehicle here> instead"

1 click away from ordering model Y

I would resist all of this except floor mats. Live with the car for a month or so and figure out what you need.

    Third row comfortable in summer?

You seem to be in AZ. Is any car comfortable in the summer heat there? ;-)
  15. Corndart

1 click away from ordering model Y

Rather doubt we'll see Tesla prices come down on the current models. SR/RWD is a different story, but then we're not talking about price reduction, we're talking about segmentation where a lesser model is available for a commensurately lower price.

Whats comparable to The Tesla Mobile Connector On Amazon?

You're grossly simplifying here imo, a 14-50 outlet can cost a hell of a lot more than $50-80 for the outlet and $100-150 for the breaker. These are rough part costs assuming someone is able to do the work themselves. What about the permit, wiring and conduit costs?
  17. Corndart

Whats comparable to The Tesla Mobile Connector On Amazon?

You say "coming in 2 weeks" - so you have a VIN? If you don't have a VIN assigned, then you've got an EDD, just to be pedantic. You may also want to ask the local SC if they'll have a mobile connector charger available for sale, at the time you take delivery, before giving up on the official...

    Ioniq 5 vs Model Y

I think they both look nice but admittedly have a penchant for oddball cars at times. The i5 reminds me a bit of a large distended GTI for some reason and yes I've seen one in person (and own an MK7 GTI).

To each their own I guess! My wife is also an adult, not overly tall and in shape. She noped out of the third row of the Tesla about 30 seconds after climbing back there,me putting up the middle row seatback, and adjusting for leg room in the second row. The Highlander is also unpleasant for...

My wife drives a 2021 Highlander Platinum. If you believe the MYLR 7 seater is functionally equivalent (as a third row / 7 seater) to the already cramped Highlander, you've either not done the research, not climbed into both vehicles, or have some fairly unique requirements of a third row that...

Has anyone noticed rear dual pane windows? (US)

From your article: The van's driver and front seat passenger wore seat belts but weren't ejected. The van rolled over several times. At least eight other people were injured. "While seatbelts remain an indispensable safety tool, they are not infallible," said Jason Levine, executive director...

MYLR vs MYP, suspension and ride quality

Agreed on that stretch of highway and the DFW area in general. We drove it (20, to Shreveport) last summer in a Highlander and it was pretty awful, can't imagine what it would have been like in the MYP. The drivers around DFW were also quite aggressive and insane but that's a completely...

MYLR vs MYP, suspension and ride quality

After a concerning test drive of an MYLR with 20" inductions last fall, no complaints after 1300 miles on a 2022 MYP. It's possible the Michelin all seasons help, or perhaps Tesla has made some recent changes and tuned it a bit better. Either way it meets my expectations and that's before...

Interesting name. Beluga are white, they are not native to the Puget Sound / WA Coast, and for sure have never been spotted off the shores of Lake Washington in Bellevue, where that picture was taken. <just ribbing you, it's a great name, congrats on the car, but I couldn't resist> :)

That's right, it does handle roll fine, but (I'm not a suspension expert) whatever is controlling rebound I think doesn't do such a hot job - it gets bouncy quite easily which starts making it feel a lot less planted when the corners in particular are uneven. Over in the driving dynamics...

    Recent MYP Delivery Estimates

There is no single root problem. Problem one - ignoring the first word in "EDD", which is "estimate". Estimate means (according to Merriam Webster) - a rough or approximate calculation. Problem two - ignoring the voluminous posts over the last 6+ months here, twitter, facebook, reddit, and...

It's not very nimble really so it doesn't handle like a sports car even though it transmits information from the road *more* analogous to one than a cushy floaty CUV. It does go like hell when you mash the right pedal, and handles smooth surfaces including curves with aplomb. Things start...

Model Y shipped without charging port

So you're acknowledging they transparently report numbers associated with both production and delivery (meaning booking revenue) on their earning report, but somehow this is all some elaborate game they are playing? Latest Q1 2022 report where you can see they've (always) been disclosing these...
  48. Corndart

Model Y shipped without charging port

This is the correct answer - they're clearing the assembly line and getting cars shipped out to where they'll be delivered. Letting their assembly plant "parking lot" fill up with 99.9% completed cars when they can fix them in the local area where they'll be delivered and sold makes perfect sense.
  49. Corndart

Model Y shipped without charging port

"report that your car was built" - to who, precisely and for what benefit? "rewarded for selling" hmm what? By whom? They don't count a sale until they've delivered the car to the owner and received payment. Full stop.
