    Squeak/creek from the left front?

Yeah, this is a known control arm issue. In some cases, they’ll have to replace the control arm but the SC should be well aware of the issue and they’ll likely order the parts before your visit.

Refreshed 2021/2022 Model X Owners Thread

LOL, whose going to report a capital gain to the IRS for a car sale? Screw that.

Refreshed 2021/2022 Model X Owners Thread

I think Tesla can flag customers who “flip” cars so they can’t buy a Tesla in the future. Watch out for that.

New FSD beta testers (June 2022) - First experiences

Yes, I haven’t had any highway phantom braking. Although I did have phantom braking on a city street last night! So overall I’d say issue is better but not resolved. I’m supremely impressed with FSD Beta. It is far from perfect, but the beta was positioned that way so I’m not surprised. I’m...

Has anyone received a '17 Model X AP Camera Upgrade?

2017 Model X here. Got the camera upgrade in February and got FSD Beta this past weekend! There is hope for all of us. :)

Thanks. That tells me they didn’t fix that fundamental issue. Sigh.

Refreshed 2021/2022 Model X Owners Thread

So I may have missed this but because you installed the N2itive lowering links, does that mean the refreshed X has the *same* issue with shudder due to the half shafts and drive axle? I’ve been trying to get that confirmed - someone must have put the X on a lift and checked this - but you are...

Model X (only) - FSD beta

I also got FSD Beta yesterday - and from my signature you can see I’ve been waiting a long time! :) Love it and can see the potential. When it works, it works well. But as a beta it can also not work VERY well. Got my X because I love gadgets and this fits the bill. Incredibly awesome to be...

New FSD beta testers (June 2022) - First experiences

I’m amazed so far. But obviously, as many others have said, the car made the worst decision at the worst time a couple of times today. Totally expected, disengaged, and happy to help train the NN. Question: not a disengagement, but I notice my X accelerates out of left and right turns...

Earliest adopter here…it’s installing now! Woooooooo! I excitedly told my wife. She went to take a nap. So, we’re different people I guess.

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

Nice. I got bumped to 99 with the BS “101.9“ FCW fail. But I’ve got 30 days with 1,000+ miles. If I don’t qualify, f*** Elon Musk.

Unlimited supercharging unavailable for model x

I stand corrected! Yes, I agree with the original reply above then to start with the local Service Center. I think it’s a pretty open and shut case!
  13. Seattle Tom

Unlimited supercharging unavailable for model x

Well if he’s got a contract that says free supercharging then that’s pretty simple. I just think that doesn’t exist and there’s been no evidence on the thread that it does. All the OP has to do is share a screen grab of the Monroney or some other contract showing he’s got it.

Caution Model X, Hidden Tire Wear

38K is great for a Model X. Here’s the reading you need: Eliminate Inner Tire & Premature Half-Shaft Wear On Tesla X/S!
  15. Seattle Tom

Unlimited supercharging unavailable for model x

Yeah, free Supercharging wasn’t a thing in 2021 anymore. It doesn’t exist on the refreshed X or S.

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

And if you’ve been watching TeslaFi, the rollout has been expanding over the past hour. It’s still only original FSD Beta testers, but it‘s multiple versions of past FSD FW so looks more and more like all of them are getting upgraded. If so, that would *seem* to be good news that Elon would...

Refreshed 2021/2022 Model X Owners Thread

Don’t know if anything is wrong with it, but you’d still be “below” the latest FSD Beta firmware so wouldn’t be out of the running to get 10.11.2 when it’s released (and if Elon freaking gives it to us).

Refreshed 2021/2022 Model X Owners Thread

It takes awhile for the issue to show up. Between 2,000 and 20,000 miles for most, depending on the number of launches, what suspension you typically ride in, etc. But unless they have redesigned the driveshaft, it’s going to reoccur I think. I just wish someone would take the new X to a...

Yes, that was a disappointing tweet…unless you consider all the previous disappointing tweets. Sigh. At least the YouTube and twitter influencers have FSD Beta. They are the real heroes, you know?

Model X (only) - FSD beta

I reactivated on April 30 and am currently nursing a 100. But I have no illusions about getting FSD Beta soon. I’d love it, but hope is a terrible thing with FSD Beat.

    Setec CCS to Tesla Adapter

Good tip! Thanks and will try that out.
  24. Seattle Tom

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

That assumes the price won’t go up. I think they’ll keep it to $199 with performance of FSD Beta as it appears now…but if it get substantially better I could see that monthly price going up.

    Setec CCS to Tesla Adapter

Any Mac users able to get the firmware loaded properly? After installing the drive when I click the Update file it’s just a bunch of gobbledegook text (where instead I should be able to choose a Serial Port I believe. Mac issue? Or a ”Me” issue? :) Oh I’m on FW 12.3.2 so feel free to tell me...

No, the camera upgrade is separate from the FSD computer upgrade.

Super Chargers about to get really busy in the near future

I agree it’s impossible to predict, but I still don’t understand how Tesla intends to solve the charging location issue. I suspect they don’t intend to solve it, so all the work they’ve done with faster 250kwh charging, preconditioning batteries when en route, etc to increase throughput will be...

Has anyone received a '17 Model X AP Camera Upgrade?

2017 Model X 100D here. Yes, got my updated cameras in Feb I believe (at the Service Center - mobile appointment wasn’t allowed for this). Of course, the cameras don’t mean s***. No one in the US has been added to FSD Beta since last December. Total joke.

Camping in a Tesla X 6-Seater like a dream... better than the 5-Seater and even with a cpap machine!

So basically you Scooby-Doo’d the s*** out of the situation? Quite a brilliant solution and I have to admit as a fellow six seater owner I’m impressed! I may have to try this out some day on the legacy X!

Opted out and back in maybe three weeks ago, but this time the opt out did a full reset of my score - the prior 30 days of data was gone. Since then I’ve driven 300-ish miles, but it’s been “light” driving not in rush hour. I’m currently at a 100 score for every single day, so this weekend had...

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

No one in the US has received it since December, not even the new Plaid owners. This weekend is the first real chance…but as usual, you can read Elon’s tweet a few different ways. It might be another misleading statement.

Hi, all. I got my camera update in February (fat lot of good that did!) and I *did* confirm with the SC and on the invoice that I got the right part numbers, as reflected in the early posts on this thread. That’s the Stealth wrap? The ”Matte” look? Jeez, I can’t even tell. I’ve got a white LR X on order (January 2023) and I was thinking of doing the stealth wrap too. But I really like the matte look and I’m not sure it comes through on this color. Subsequent post that stealth doesn’t really come...

I’m a June 2017 Model X too. Also on 2022.8.2. Got my cameras about a month before you in early February and I’m rocking a 98. FWIW, no one has been added to the FSD Beta (except those mofo Canadians) in months. Whatever the situation is, I wouldn’t suspect we are getting it anytime soon. It...

    Upgrading from Model3…

Exactly this. Most of us are talking about the older Model X, but nothing I’ve read says that the refreshed X is going to be a sporty car comparable to the 3. That’s just not what they are going for. It’s a large SUV. It’s wicked fast, and it’s more planted than a Tahoe, but it’s still a large...

Whoa…that is up at least $500 and maybe $600 from the price I paid. Inflation is a bitch. Great job using lockdowns and infinite QE, Feds.

Is Tesla service the best/reliable for windshield replacements?

Tesla outsources the labor for windshield installs at most SCs (though obviously it’s their glass). It takes two guys to install the windshield so there is more labor than a typical windshield replacement. I can’t account for recent inflation, but it was about $1,100 two years ago.

Will updating to 2022.8.2 remove me from the FSD Beta Queue??

I missed delaying one night so got moved to 2022.8.2. Sigh. On the plus side, does everyone remember that cool animation the 3/Y got a year ago when you entered the car, but it wasn’t in drive? Kind of a top-down, diagonal view that spins around to show the rear of the car once you put it in...

The unofficial "when do I get my FSD beta update" FAQ

Good luck of course (to us all!!!), but I don’t think they have a “Waiting Room.” That implies a level of organization and future planning that seems…out of character for the FSD Beta rollout process. LOL
  45. Seattle Tom

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

This is almost certainly wrong. TECHNICALLY speaking with branches of code, I know they are right. But PRACTICALLY speaking with how Tesla manages firmware deployment it just doesn’t happen that way. The only time a downgrade has occurred was with the huge production issue last year that caused...

Will updating to 2022.8.2 remove me from the FSD Beta Queue??

The only example anyone has cited of a downgrade of firmware was during an FSD rollout last year where a SERIOUS bug was introduced. So I think, yes, all evidence would indicate that if you update to 2022.8.2 you are officially NOT going to get 2022.4.5.20 in this push for FSD Beta. The...
