Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

I agree. They were also trying to blame my dash cam, saying it somehow "caused the triple came to go out of alignment". Bunch of nonsense...

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

Finally got my car back from the SC after ~10 days. They replaced the triple cam and added a shim that adjusted the tilt. The "camera alignment needed" errors are gone. They're trying to charge me the $200 ESA deductible, which is ridiculous given that they just did the camera retrofit that...

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

Interesting... I also recently (~4 weeks ago now?) got this message for the first time, though several *days* of driving did not fix it. Resetting camera calibration worked for a few weeks, but then it came back. In my case, the SC is replacing the triple camera. I wonder if more recent FSD beta...

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

I probably have their email address from previous visits in my inbox somewhere.. but it's just as easy to ignore an email as it is a phone call or app message ;-) Regardless, I finally got ahold of my service advisor... They admitted the tech put the wrong camera in the car, but defended it...

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

To make matters worse, they aren't answering any messages in the app nor are they answering the phone. Don't you just love tesla service???? Going to have to drive 1.5hrs there and back to talk in person and sort this out it seems :/

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

Story/vent time: My model s with the camera upgrades done has been in the FSD beta for a few months now. However, about a month ago, I got an altert that my “cameras needed to be aligned” and AP/FSD stopped working. I was on the road at the time, and not having AP was annoying, so I tried...

Connected Solutions Real-World Experiences (MA - National Grid / EverSource)

Agreed. Reading the tea leaves (Eg, Eversources' discontinuance of the winter program with no notice and their push (in their public MA filings) to get funding via rate hikes to build out their own utility scale battery/ESS network), I have come to a similar conclusion and am getting very...

2nd run of camera switch that show a front image on the touch screen

What year is your car? I forget the exact date cutoff, but tesla changed the steering wheel buttons from LIN to CAN at some point; the adapter is listening for the CAN bus messages, so if you have LIN buttons it won’t be able to see that you’re holding the button down.

2nd run of camera switch that show a front image on the touch screen

Apologies, I say silly things when I’m tired.. please don’t cut your camera cables! (There is a nice blue “fakra” M/F HSD connector in that driver’s footwell for the backup camera feed wire, you just need to unplug it there).
  13. A

2nd run of camera switch that show a front image on the touch screen

S is much easier than the X to access the cable for the backup camera; there is a splice in the driver footwell.

Connected Solutions Real-World Experiences (MA - National Grid / EverSource)

I’m in the same boat. I would have been eligible for the winter season, but eversource cancelled it. So June 1 will be my first eligible period post PTO. While I got a confirmation from eversource that I’m enrolled, I have no confirmation or indication from tesla that things are all set on their...

Car charged at higher amps than set. Blew out my fuse box

I've made this mistake in the past too; the old code was super not clear. It was always "<=150V to ground", which a 240V residential outlet almost always is. (Each leg is nominally 120V to ground, even though they're 240V to each other). The 2020 code removed the confusing language and now just...

Car charged at higher amps than set. Blew out my fuse box

You're right, except for maybe NFPA 70 (NEC) 625.54, which would require that the outlet be GFCI. Assuming the dryer outlet is properly wired with 10awg or larger wire it should handle continuous 24A @ 240V without any issue and be code compliant. With that being said, it would not surprise me...

Car charged at higher amps than set. Blew out my fuse box

That’s not quite true.. NEC 625 has specific requirements for outlets used for EV charging.

Car charged at higher amps than set. Blew out my fuse box

I’d argue that the landlord owes you a functional electrical system, that can safely supply power to devices and appliances plugged in at the property. With that said, the dryer outlet was not intended for EV charging and may not be able to deal with a continuous load on it. (Especially if it...

Car charged at higher amps than set. Blew out my fuse box

Shouldn’t be possible with a tesla 10-30 adapter… unless you’re saying your mobile connector has a NEMA 14-50 plug on it and you made/bought your own 10-30 adapter?

    Diagnostic Port Index

On the 2022 Model S, the OBD port has CAN on pins 6 (+) and 14 (-). I'm not sure if there is anything interesting on this bus though, as it seems to be dedicated to the OBD port. There are two diagnostic CAN connectors... The large blue one under the screen has: Vehicle CAN: Pins 9 (+) / 10...

Tesla requires 60A Disconnect switch w/charger?

I stand corrected. The 2017 code was not very clear (in part I suspect why they changed it); 625.54 Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter Protection for Personnel. All single-phase receptacles installed tor the connection of electric vehicle charging that are rated 150 volts to ground or less, and...

Tesla requires 60A Disconnect switch w/charger?

Not quite accurate. The GFCI requirement was added to the *2020* edition (which only a handful of states have adopted so far). The 2017 code only requires GFCI for single phase circuits under 150V and under 50A (so this 240V 14-50 on a 50A breaker would not require GFCI under the 2017 code, but...

RI National Grid - "System needs to be reduce or Pay 5.5k pad mount tansformer"

I was able to convince Eversource to accept interconnection with exactly this proposal. Tesla added a note to my plans like this: And configured “conductor export limits” in the gateway to limit the current that could be exported to the grid per the utility’s requirements. In your case, you...

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

Most likely case is that they just re-enabled publicly sharing their version info (or had teslafi disabled or setup with a bad token). I wouldn’t read too much into it until we see some additional examples.

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

That’s exactly what the update is.. it’s a modem firmware/baseband update to make the modems “data centric”. https://iotdevices.att.com/att-iot/3GSunset.aspx

And, more importantly, this appears to be the first wide release since 10.8.1. As of now, they have pushed this update to everyone currently running any version of FSD beta. No new FSD beta testers though (yet!).

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

LMAO, they replaced your GPS antenna and your APE?? 🤦‍♂️ All because someone set the gateway config wrong… the best part is that even after doing all of that, the GPS still wouldn’t have worked until someone reverted the config.
  34. A

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

They actually replaced your GPS antenna?? Wooooooow... talk about a failure to communicate and also to do even basic troubleshooting (Why would an antenna, that is nowhere near any of the cameras or cables that got replaced, just "fail"???). This whole "camera upgrade" program is the perfect...

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

Your GPS and GPS antenna are fine. They just need to change the autopilotcameratype gateway config back to 1 (RCCC) and everything will start working again. They can/should fix this remotely for you. Doesn’t even need a redeploy. (Sounds like they tried to change the gateway config for...

Honestly, it's probably fine. I haven't heard of (m)any incorrect pillar cams being installed so far. The only way to know for sure is to 1) look at the PN on the actual camera module before installation 2) look at what the car recognizes the installed camera as (Tesla can see this internally in...

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

Not easily without an MCU… there’s an IC wake pin and some CAN that the MCU sends to enable Ethernet and turn the screen on.

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

10.9 went to tesla employees yesterday, and to EAP testers (eg the ones enrolled in FSD beta before the safety score rollout) a few hours ago. AFAIK, no “safety score” enrolled vehicles have received 10.9 yet; if 10.9 follows a similar pattern to previous releases I would expect those vehicles...
