That is not my experience with the stalk (2015 P85D). I often find that the first push does nothing, and I have to push it again to actually shift into D/R. But it's inconsistent - it sometimes works on first try.

I find it extremely difficult to indicate left to exit the roundabout using a normal wheel/stalk, because my left hand (which holds the 9 o'clock of the wheel) would be roughly at 2 o'clock position as I move through the roundabout, but the indicator stalk is obviously still back at the 9...

I hope they at least add some tactile markings on the steering wheel buttons, so you can feel for them without looking.

Different insurer. Maybe I did get lucky :p I didn't have rental car option on my policy. My insurer suggested I ask the other guy's insurer about it (even though I'm claiming with my own insurer... weird), so I did, and they suggested I organise one with one of these accident rental car...

I installed it as soon as I got the car, so wouldn't know what kind of power drain to expect without it. It loses 8–10km of range per night in the first few nights, then the car seems to go into a deeper sleep mode and the loss is much reduced. For example it would lose maybe just over 100km...

I hardwired mine to the spare connector in the microphone grille. No issues in the past 4 years.

Yes the newer versions of the camera have better image quality. Retrofit is possible; the instructions for the front-rear camera switch kit should get you most of the way there.

Interesting, I was not aware of an Amex card that can transfer to QFF at 1:1.5 (or in fact any points-doubling promos in the first place).

Does this really work out to be profitable? Qantas points are valued around $0.01/pt, and assuming you get 2 points per dollar spent (after doubling), you're still paying more in surcharge.

Because green is not everywhere — there are plenty of roads for which there is no traffic information. Now there's no way to tell if traffic is normal or unknown.

Speaking of insurance, Redbook's extended warranty insurance quote has dropped from $2,xxx down to $1,200 for 2015 P85D. I wonder if the coverage has changed?

My car was built before Sep 2015 but I definitely have that connector, been using it for dash cam. Perhaps cars before Sep 2015 have been sporadically built with/without it and they couldn’t be bothered keeping track, so just made the cutoff date later than necessary.

Our phones already connect to our cars directly via Bluetooth so there's really no reason to use a remote server at all. I wouldn't mind using the app for Summon if it can use the direct Bluetooth connection and can work in places without cellular connectivity, which tends to be places where...

I wouldn't say the green was redundant — it shows that traffic is light/normal, as opposed to no information available for that road. Also makes the main roads easier to see, especially with the new grey on grey colour scheme. I wish they'd add an option to re-enable it.
