My system is clipping on 12.6kw system with 7.6 inverter

I’m in the Boston area too. I have a 36 panel, 12.24dc/10kwAc system. Tesla put in a solaredge inverter for my system. Here is a plot from a recent sunny day. There is some clipping this time of year for an hour or two, even with the 10kW inverter Tesla estimated I’d get 11.2MWh/year and last...

Connected Solutions Real-World Experiences (MA - National Grid / EverSource)

my system has been enrolled in connectedsolutions and have been participating and Getting paid. There is no indication of virtual power plant in app 4.7.1 on my iPhone. I wouldn’t worry about that not showing up in the app. I am on Eversource.

Getting tesla solar installed today 395w Panel

The 10KW limit is for 1:1 net metering with full carry-over. The next level is up to 25KW and doesn't do 1:1 net metering and has more rules about carry over. I have a 12.24KW-DC 10KW-AC (solaredge inverter) system and only clip for short periods at full sun. Here is what I got yesterday.

    Battery Coolant Heater

After another visit to a supercharger I got the bms_w035 and limp mode again. So back to the service center. This time, after the car sitting there for a few days before being looked at, they replaced the battery heater and all is good again. I had them give me the old heater, I’m thinking about...

Staying under 10kW AC for net metering reasons

In my case I have a 12.24 DC / 10kW AC system in MA. When my system was installed Tesla was using Solaredge 10kW inverters. I do not clip all that often, really only a few days last year for maybe an hour or two. What is your DC size?

Connected Solutions Real-World Experiences (MA - National Grid / EverSource)

Actually the latest email I got from Eversource says my rate is $225/kW. 2116/225=9.4kW average. Now that I think about it I believe that all of my summer events were 10kW discharges.
  13. A

Connected Solutions Real-World Experiences (MA - National Grid / EverSource)

So in my case in Eversource MA, I got a check for $2116. I have 3 powerwalls and the events were mostly 10kW discharge rate events usually lasting 3 hours. There were some 15kW events that were only 2 hours long. My Eversource MA rate is listed as $180/kW so it looks like my average discharge...

Connected Solutions Real-World Experiences (MA - National Grid / EverSource)

FWIW how much you use during an event doesn't change the rate you get paid on. It is solely based on what gets discharged from your powerwalls. Doesn't matter if you use it or it goes to the grid. The Gateway also tries to "fill" your powerwall prior to the event.

    Error codes

I had the bms_w035 error and it turned out to be the battery heater which they replaced for $685. It took two visits, the first time they couldn't get it to fail. It failed again later with the same error and that's when they replaced it. YMMV.

    Mass Save Connected Solutions Incentive

My Eversource SMART payments come monthly, three months after the month they cover. the very first payment covered all generation from when the generation meter was installed, but didn’t come until 3 months after PTO.

    Mass Save Connected Solutions Incentive

It did seem to not have Tesla's cut removed. I got ~$2200 and had basically run 10kW during their discharges.
  22. A

    Mass Save Connected Solutions Incentive

For what it’s worth the SMART payments have always been identified as such.
  23. A

    Mass Save Connected Solutions Incentive

In my case I am confident that it was the connectedsolutions payment. My SMART payments appear monthly as a direct deposit and I just received my monthly deposit.

2012 Model S - Limp mode - BMS_w172 (Vehicle may not restart) , BMS_u008 (Acceleration and top speed reduced)

Did you get the bms_w035 message originally? So I'm in limp mode again. Same thing as before. Set destination to supercharger, drove there. Battery heater clearly working as it is cold here, 35 degrees and the battery heated up by the time I made it to the supercharger. I could tell both by...

2012 Model S - Limp mode - BMS_w172 (Vehicle may not restart) , BMS_u008 (Acceleration and top speed reduced)

I posted this in another thread about battery heater woes…. I wonder if there is some software glitch around supercharging that is triggering fals battery heater problems. Could you tell if the battery heater you replaced was actually broken? So my 2016 model S gave the error code Bms_w035...

    Battery Coolant Heater

So my 2016 model S gave the error code Bms_w035 code just as I arrived and parked at a supercharger. Since I was navigating to the supercharger, it said it was preconditionping for faster charging. the car did supercharge at 100+kw so the battery was warm. the First message triggered a service...

Using ChargePoint Home Flex for home charging.

If the chargepoint was installed correctly you should be getting 40A which would be about 29 miles/hour. Even 32A should be over 20 miles/hour. What is the car reporting? Is there any error message saying charging is limited? Check on your chargepoint app under settings and see what it thinks...

    Solar Roof in Massachusetts

Looks like you did an admirable job gathering the facts. It is surprisingly difficult, each provider has different allocations of SMART. I don't think you are missing anything major. Watch out for which tier you are in, the rates taper over time based on participation at each utility. Is your...

Using ChargePoint Home Flex for home charging.

When you go to the settings screen on your chargepoint app, does it show breaker amperage is 50A? The CP should be telling the car it can have up to 40A so your car should read 40/80 rather than the 16/80 you are seeing. Very strange. When you plug the S in, does it immediately say 16 and have...
  45. A

Using ChargePoint Home Flex for home charging.

The model S is more sensitive to voltage drops and will drop the current during charging. If that happens once, the car may be self-limiting to the lower current for future sessions. When it is charging, can you go to the charge screen and change it to the 40 setting? Is it saying 16/40 or 16/16...

PW's discharge rate during "Grid Services" event.

For some reason I don't have grid services showing up in the app so I can't comment on what that reports. It is the amount discharging from your PW which is what you get credit for, doesn't matter if it went to your house or the grid.
  49. A

PW's discharge rate during "Grid Services" event.

I have a different perspective on connectedsolutions on Eversource than you expressed above. In the end, Eversource doesn't ever "steal" power, they pay for it, actually quite a lot per kWh. They certainly do a lousy job explaining how much you'll get and they take forever to pay it, I won't...

How long between inspection and PTO? [various areas]

The other concern is if the utility hasn't installed a net-metering meter yet you might be charged for power you send to the grid as the non-net metering meters would count that as consumption. This was definitely a concern here using Eversource in MA. In my case, there was a significant delay...
