I second your comments about the PS4/AS4 comparison. The PS4 is indeed quieter, and it grips better in the conditions it was designed for. I didn't really care for the AS4 by comparison, but I also had a set of winter tires, so the AS4's bad-weather advantage wasn't a factor for me.

I'm sorry, but that's a ridiculous oversimplification. "Performance" tires are NEVER gonna last 50K miles. It's true that Tesla's OEM tire starts with less tread - that's not an "introductory" thing - it's a "range" thing. Of course you can replace those tires with full-tread-depth tires...

Thanks for reporting the results. I'm an interested observer as this is the first car I've ever purchased without a test drive, and a smoother ride than my previous Model 3P is one of the things I was hoping for with the MSLR...

In winter temperatures at those speeds and with the heat on your consumption sounds about right. In warmer temps without running the heater that figure would probably be closer to 300 wh/mile. Sounds like the real issue is that you thought you were buying a car with nearly 300 miles of range...

400 wh/mile sounds quite high. What speeds do you typically drive on the highway? Are you running the heater? That uses a lot of extra power…

Neither. Get a 2022 Model S LR. Much better car than either of those, and much quicker/after too…
