Custom monoblock forged wheels Info - new discussion thread

I don't care about comfort at all. 40 is the normal profile for 19" wheels on the M3.

Custom monoblock forged wheels Info - new discussion thread

Here's mine with the extreme contact sport (the performance summer tire), plenty of space on it too.

Custom monoblock forged wheels Info - new discussion thread

I seen the "extremecontact sport" and thought they all looked like this - ExtremeContact™ Sport that's what I got.

Custom monoblock forged wheels Info - new discussion thread

Plenty of people use 255/40/19 without issue. I run an 8.5, looks like he's on a 9.5. I thought clearance wasn't an issue until you started getting into the 265's or 10" wheels, but don't quote me on that.

Custom monoblock forged wheels Info - new discussion thread

I thought those were the extremecontact sport, the tread looks different though. Are those the dws06?
  6. S

Custom monoblock forged wheels Info - new discussion thread

You got the same exact tires as me as well. the 255 PS4S were on backorder - hoping these continentals are sticky enough.

Custom monoblock forged wheels Info - new discussion thread

55.6 pounds on the uber turbines, but missing the center cap. 45.2 pounds on the new setup. I think the paragon rotors are 0.3 pounds lighter on the front and 3 pounds lighter on the rear, so that's another 6.6 pounds, but I didn't weigh them. Just going off @Motion122 's post on them.
  8. S

Custom monoblock forged wheels Info - new discussion thread

got everything installed last night with the new rotors and 255/40/19 - fits perfect. The tires & wheels are 42 pounds lighter total than uberturbines and PS4S with 25% tread left (not that it matters much).

    Model 3 Performance...Plaid [speculation]

You're new here, so this is the one tip I'll give you. This is the best way to avoid arguing with people who will spend 6 hours arguing a point that can be factually proven incorrect.

    Model 3 Performance...Plaid [speculation]

I wish they would have asked them about replacing the existing motors with plaid motors and not asking about converting to a tri-motor.

Martian Wheels MW03 - New discussion thread

That's pretty crappy that you've waited so long, and they won't even express your order to you...they say ' it's in the next batch ' like there's no issue at all.

AutoX times on UHP All Seasons vs Stickier tires?

I'm in the market for a good set of ellipses, do you have any recommended brands?
  13. S

Custom monoblock forged wheels Info - new discussion thread

I'm sure they do, no clue on the weight/price, you'd need to ask Kate for that. The good news is that shipping time is back to normal now so it's about 4 weeks instead of 3 months.
  14. S

Light weight 20 inch wheels 23lbs or lesson

These should be below that. 19.2 pounds for 19x8.5 $1300ish https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/custom-monoblock-forged-wheels-info-new-discussion-thread.217728/page-19#post-6809902

Water Leak [ingress during car wash]

It is not normal. Ask them if they will provide you with a written statement of how and where the water is getting into the cabin from. Since it's a normal and apparently acceptable issue (according to them), they should be able to provide this information to you easily.
  16. S

AutoX times on UHP All Seasons vs Stickier tires?

grab you a set of 19" wheels and throw a set of these on there. They stick pretty effin good. Only for track use though, they are loud AF on the highway inside a tesla. https://www.ebay.com/itm/234569657420

To ceramic coat or not to ceramic coat?

It's worth it in my opinion, but it may not be worth it in your opinion. I ceramic coated the wrap, and do not expect to own the car for 2 years max...it's getting traded in as soon as they put upgrades on a newer version.
  19. S

Custom monoblock forged wheels Info - new discussion thread

New wheels in, right on spot at 19.2 pounds as they said.

Need some help from anyone with a brand new Model 3 Performance and question on diminished value

Just remember that the insurance adjuster is not your friend. Their sole reason for existence is to pay you as little as possible, and they are awarded bonuses based on the amount of money they can come under the expected payouts throughout the year. Don't settle if you're not happy. but you...

    Price increase? [posted 06.16.2022]

As long as you have one to trade in, it's not a bad deal because your previous value will (should) also increase
  22. S

    Price increase? [posted 06.16.2022]

Then you obviously haven't done a full throttle launch in a plaid. It's not a linear scale, like the difference between 7.1 seconds and 5.9 seconds.
  23. S

    Price increase? [posted 06.16.2022]

It wouldn't even come close to a plaid.
  24. S

    Price increase? [posted 06.16.2022]

Then you have to consider acceleration boost is almost 100% profit for $2000 since it's just a programming change and puts it almost identical to the M3P. If the price difference was $4000-$5000, but then you have more expensive wheels, tires, brakes, other bits, etc. Which one makes more $...

    Price increase? [posted 06.16.2022]

No. I'm making a huge assumption here with zero inside knowledge, that they didn't raise the price up because there's an upgrade in the near future. 100% speculation, but for it to be the only thing that didn't increase, and it being silly to increase the price point on something right before...

    Price increase? [posted 06.16.2022]

My last one was $49k in 2019, I drove it for 2 years and traded it in for $51k. Then, this one was bought in September for $56k and trade in value (before this recent increase) is $63k. I'm getting higher % returns on a car than I am with my mutual funds this year 😂
  27. S

Prices up for everything except the M3P - potential for suggesting upgrades are near?

Noticed that the price went up on all of the vehicles by a few thousand, except the M3P. Anyone know or think this may mean there's potential for an upgraded model soon? I don't think they would jack up the price on something right before they upgraded it, they would do it after.
  28. S

Paragon M3P Two-Piece Front and Rear Rotors. Yes, they are lighter! :)

Are you seeing any glazing or hot spots with these so far?
  29. S

    Any reason to upgrade 2018 M3 for 2022 M3P?

They just bumped the autopilot speed up to 85 mph on the last update as an FYI.
  30. S

    Any reason to upgrade 2018 M3 for 2022 M3P?

^this precisely. But just get another long range, don't opt for the performance, there's not enough difference between the two models to justify $7000
  31. S

    Any reason to upgrade 2018 M3 for 2022 M3P?

No, don't do it unless your trade in value is ridiculously high. if anything, swap yours out for a new long range with boost and save yourself $5000

lightweight wheels model 3 performance 0-60 testing

That is absolutely not true. You need to chart out the scan logs, and you will see that the rear motor reaches peak power before the front motor does, and it is falling off when the front motor is at peak power. This is why an actual car dyno shows a much lower number than what a charted out...
  34. S

lightweight wheels model 3 performance 0-60 testing

Not arguing, but you're also making the same mistake I made years ago. that 447kw is not combined powerband, that is the peak power of both motors, added individually. Peak power of each motor is independent of each other, meaning the car will never put down an actual 447kw. Again, you're not...
  35. S

lightweight wheels model 3 performance 0-60 testing

I am saying exactly that (will put it in caps for you) - LIGHTER ROTORS DID NOT CONSISTENTLY DECREASE MY 0-60 TIMES - You are referring to a single uploaded data log. Not the other 50 or 60 I did that had zero or negative changes. Stop hyperfocusing on a result that the person who recorded it...

lightweight wheels model 3 performance 0-60 testing

You're new here. A bunch of us have been doing what you've been doing for 3-4 years now. There's is absolutely nothing you've mentioned that is any different than anything we've already tried. But go and enjoy yourself! Just keep in mind that there will be variations in your times...
  37. S

lightweight wheels model 3 performance 0-60 testing

apparently I lied with this, I swore the 21 would do 1.1g too and it will not. The 2019 has no issue doing it, but they've really limited that punch off the line with these new ones. Just went out and tried 10 launches and couldn't get it over 0.9g, even tried to swing the weight by doing a...

I disagree with his personal opinions on a regular basis, but, respect most of his technical content because he is spot on most of the time.
  39. S

lightweight wheels model 3 performance 0-60 testing

I can hit 1.1g regularly with the car, got my 2019 to hit 1.2 once, but was never able to replicate it...but 2019 and 2021 is easy to hit 1.1 As for traction, I mistermed that. I meant the cars can be traction limited on some surfaces, but the computer is limiting the acceleration rate...
  40. S

lightweight wheels model 3 performance 0-60 testing

I'm kind of curious if going to a taller tire would actually help out more in the midrange because it would keep the motors in a lower RPM range where they make more HP/TQ. Similar situation between the MYP and M3P; whatshisname on here said that his MYP has no problem pulling on his M3P from a...
  41. S

lightweight wheels model 3 performance 0-60 testing

The first part is not true on width and sticky tires for 0-60 times. Once you get into the 1/4 mile, then yes. I'm one of the few people that have done full 1/2 mile runs logged on the M3P with various setups. everything up to the 330' or so is pretty much identical, then when you get past...
  42. S

lightweight wheels model 3 performance 0-60 testing

100% agree, that's why when I was testing my runs, I posted not only the battery temps, made sure they were all above 105 degrees (or 110 degrees, can't remember, this was years ago) and made sure the road temp was within 10 degrees as well.
  43. S

lightweight wheels model 3 performance 0-60 testing

You shouldn't make assumptions on things you don't know about. Because that 2.97 second 0-60 time was done on the stock 19" wheels with OEM continental all season tires and with lightweight rotors. After I installed the lightweight wheels to reduce the total weight from 20 pounds to 48 pounds...

Replacing the Uber Heavy wheels M3P

I thought this was a bit funny myself. Moving from those low profile OEM 235/35/20's to non-OEM 235/35/20's should make a massive difference! 19"s are probably the best option without going to a really tall tire.

MPP compression rod and control arm bearings.

You just typed out multiple paragraphs to solidify my statement. Thanks.

    What wheels are these?

Not sure on that brand, but looks like this is the design.
  47. S

MPP compression rod and control arm bearings.

And also, there was so much resistance to them the first few years because a lot of companies expected them to be a fad and fail. Now they are all playing the catch up game.
  48. S

MPP compression rod and control arm bearings.

Because the majority of Tesla owners are not car people, they are techies, and they don't understand much beyond the blurbs of tech specs on the internet that they read somewhere.

PSA about why you should NOT use auto lift trunk struts

That glass damage isn't going to spread, if you don't mind looking at it, just put some silicone over the damaged area and be done with it if it doesn't bother you.
