Model Y LR built in Giga Austin!!

I will gladly take your $20 :) As for MYSR AWD... they are definitely popping up in FL in small numbers. There are actually more available that in the public inventory (and offered to FL folk) but given the high price of them I'm not interested.

Model Y LR built in Giga Austin!!

Yes but battery types are not listed in the information screen. Heated wipers are not listed there either but SAs can determine if it has that feature via internal system (that we don't have access to). I'd be curious if the LR is 4680 (which I highly doubt) or 2170.
  3. V

Model Y LR built in Giga Austin!!

I don't know if there is any way to determine except some internal knowledge on the car (SAs know if a Model Y has 15V, AMD, etc. but these are NOT listed on the window sticker). Congrats on getting a MYLR VIN from Austin. Naysayers will be eating crow soon... lol.

Model Y LR built in Giga Austin!!

These were easily debunked if you had inside sources. I feel that Sawyer/Twitter guy was making sh*t up because the VINs he supported were not even valid.
  5. V

Model Y LR built in Giga Austin!!

Thanks to @NYMY for decoding the VIN. 7SAYGDEE9NA002767 is confirmed to be a Model Y LR from Austin by my Tesla insider (who told me others before were fake back in March). EDIT: The battery is suspect to be 2170 but not enough info to 100% confirm.

If it is that easy - please tell me it. Too blacked out IMO.

    Model Y P vs Rivian R1S

Ok... how about those private charging companies (without force compliance spending).... which is EVGo... you know who awesome and incredible that network is. FYI ChargePoint isn't a charging network as it is a hardware + service provider. The landowner provides the electricity and determines...

    Model Y P vs Rivian R1S

I had my First Mile test drive a week ago and the guide told me they only plan to build chargers out in the wilderness area (where few chargers exist) and I suspect they will be L2. I don't foresee any carmaker being able to match the supercharger network... not even 10% of it. I just hope...
  9. V

Model Y LR built in Giga Austin!!

If you send me the VIN... I can verify with Tesla insider. This person told me the previous VIN back in March (on FB) was a fake and I posted that info.
  10. V

Model Y LR built in Giga Austin!!

If you have a VIN…. You should have an order agreement generated with the price breakdown. That shows the pricing, VIN, etc. just black out your address and personal info.
  11. V

    Model Y P vs Rivian R1S

Buying a Rivian R1S now is insane. The price is north of $90K because of the $15K-$20K increase this past March and wait times are at least a year plus. You can buy the less capable smaller battery trims for $75K but I'm sure there will be alternatives when Rivian delivers your config.

Congrats. I prefer the 3's handling and ride but the Y has so much more space. Also... Standard Range Ys are showing up in the inventory today:

Standard Range Model Ys showing up in existing inventory

Still not all sold. Normally Long Range Ys are sold within minutes. It's been 2+ hours and one of the four has been sold.

Existing Tesla owner, transfer a new reservation to a different account

It will definitely change it - possibly drastically. Actually the biggest problem you have is that a VIN got assigned and thus an order agreement has be generated with your information. A delivery center could reject the new buyer solely based on this… even if the registration is updated to new...

Existing Tesla owner, transfer a new reservation to a different account

If the order doesn’t have your registration info then it’s easy to hand over the account to somebody else. If car has registration info, you need to contact the SA and have the info updated with the new buyer. I would not move the delivery location out of state because that changes the EDD...

    Model Y LR vs. EV6

With FSD, it keeps Autopilot engaged on lane changes I heard. As for semi-trucks... yes when they brush by violently the Model 3 Autopilot would ping and disengage. It happened a lot on my drive to Miami on the turnpike. This wasn't the first time. I used it on trips to Daytona which is pure...
  17. V

    Model Y LR vs. EV6

I drove my 2022 Model 3 RWD to Miami on a 250 mile trip and Autopilot was constantly disengaging every time a truck zipped by (Autopilot thinks it is close to cutting me off). Maybe you have FSD? Every time I changed lanes it would disengage also. In Miami, I traded the 3 for the Telluride and...

    Model Y LR vs. EV6

Good choice! (weirdly Ioniq 5s are much cheaper in FL than EV6s which still have insane markups) One minor quibble.. the EV6 isn't that quiet in the interior. It's about the same as the new Model 3s and Model Ys. The Ioniq 5 IS MUCH quieter and something I noticed in my test drives. Bjorn's...

Supercharger - Daytona Beach, FL (Buc-ee's)

I've heard there have been transformer shortages but this delay feels longer than it should be.
  20. V

    Model Y very poor range/efficiency

Higher Cd for sure but I think Bjorn proved weight has minimal to no impact on highway efficiency. Dual motor definitely eats more power and because one pedal is always on it regens harder and constantly slows down the Y upon letting go of the accelerator. The Model 3 RWD is just crazy...
  21. V

    Model Y LR vs. EV6

The Ioniq 5 felt a lot roomier. The EV6 felt narrower and with less headspace. But then again I mainly remember the Limited with the sliding console and huge empty space at my feet. The cloth seats of the SE and lack of front sensor completely turned me off on that trim. Along with the poor...
  22. V

    Model Y LR vs. EV6

It's because there are much worse systems than the EV6 (I'm looking at you ID.4) and also it is pretty similar to other Kias like the Telluride. As for the interior - most definitely cramped and cave like. That's why I'd only buy an EV6 with a light gray interior but supposedly those are rare...

    Florida Waiting Room

I’ve heard from multiple sources the charging is boss with 4680 cells. Like 20-80% in sub 25mins. Even less I’ve heard. Personally fast charging is useless to me so my interest in the SR is low except it is made in Austin (where I spend 1-2 months a year in).
  24. V

    Florida Waiting Room

FYI SAs don’t ban you nor do they have any say. Tesla has a Loss Prevention legal team that cancels orders and bans people. I don’t know the algorithm but given I’ve know folks buy and sell up to 3 Teslas in a year I think anything below that is safe.
  25. V

    Florida Waiting Room

I don't know about within a year. I've personally know of a Texas family that bought 5 within a year (3 that arrived in the same month) that got banned for life. They are friends of my brother there. I've also known folks who've had 3 Teslas in a year and sold 2 without issue. Heck, I've owned...

Shopping for an ICE for my wife...

The x45e sounds amazing. If I went back to one car again I'd definitely consider a PHEV like the BMW. I ditched my RAV4 Prime for a Kia Telluride. I needed the size and in reality.. if I'm only driving one car it might as well be a full EV during the week (primary commuter car) and for road...

    Standard range delivery window

I visited the Austin Tesla store last week while visiting my brother there. They said they had YSR in the back that were ready for delivery very soon. Hopefully we will hear from new owners in the next few weeks.
  28. V

    Florida Waiting Room

Not overly surprised. Some ICE cars they offer auction like prices. For their own Teslas... they definitely lowball. What are you trading in? Carvana might offer more than CarMax. They have for everything I've considered selling.

Plain Model Y customers punished AGAIN June 2022

Hopefully with the Texas factory running the wait times will shorten.

    Surprise Check from Tesla

Same. Got a random check today. When did you buy your Tesla? Fall? Or this winter/spring?
  31. V

    Florida Waiting Room

The horror stories I hear about Mach-E repairs in Florida makes me terrified of bringing any EV for any type of electronics fix. EV6 and Ioniq 5 are too new and most of the problems are a lack of parts (3+ month waits).

    2 Model Y or Ioniq 5?

bz4x doesn't have that much torque. Honestly the Prime is a beast with the dual motors and gas engine RAV4 Prime torque (two electric motors + gas engine that work together) but it technically is AWD with strong FWD bias.
  33. V

    2 Model Y or Ioniq 5?

About the same weight as the RAV4 Prime and that PHEV has 302hp and torque steers badly if you hammer the gas in sport mode (where the rear and front electric motors kick in too). About as fast as a base Model 3 RWD. Folks measured the 0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds. They dropped the FWD power to 201hp...

    2 Model Y or Ioniq 5?

You guys sound like the anti-Tesla folk who bash Teslas over panels falling off cars, random rattles, battery fires, and Musk's behavior. Don't like biases get in the way of reality. The FWD version of the bz4x is getting decent real world charging speeds. AWD... maybe not. That's because of...

    Ioniq 5 vs Model Y

Genesis GV60 EV will have preconditioning at launch and supposed the next year's Ioniq 5 will too. It's not a dealbreaker for me because I don't even precondition on my Model Y... I find it wastes more power and I usually don't care for fastest charging speeds unless I'm a long road trip (which...

    Ioniq 5 vs Model Y

VW is using lithium ion in the 2022 ID.4s - of course none have been delivered to the US for some reason. lol. Ioniq 5 dead battery issues has to due with weird software bugs. There's some drain Don't use the app to open your charge door! (was... An EV6 owner setup a system to monitor his 12V...
  37. V

    Ioniq 5 vs Model Y

Then you don't look hard enough... lol. Then again there are 400K+ Teslas and maybe 10K Ioniq 5s and 10K EV6s in the US. There are about 35K+ Mach-Es and 30K ID.4s in the US. I definitely see more Mach-Es and ID.4s randomly than the Korean twins (they only started selling them in Feb...

    Ioniq 5 vs Model Y

It's fair... but they still love how it drove "While the EV6's driving characteristics elicited grins..." and "Kia EV6 May Not Be A Great SUV, But It's Pretty Great" EV6 is a hothatch that competes with a Model 3 and with the tax credit it is cheaper and probably better value. As a...
  40. V

    Ioniq 5 vs Model Y

A year ago there were NO viable alternatives to a Model Y and while the Y has improved over the last year and is a solid/reliable EV now... there are now plenty of choices. It's the same with EV trucks... once there were none and now we have Rivian R1T, F-150 Lightning, Silverado EV, Hummer EV...
  41. V

    Ioniq 5 vs Model Y

I came from an ID.4 to Model Y and you immediately notice the stiff suspension. Ioniq 5 has a RAV4 softer suspension - probably close to a Telluride. The ID.4 takes that softness up one notch as I recall running over potholes/divets and never feeling them. As for the Ioniq 5... it is flawed. I...
  42. V

    Ioniq 5 vs Model Y

Then everybody should buy PHEVs and nobody should by sports cars or minivans. I believe "only the paranoid survive" and now that we have great competition like the Lucid, Ioniq 5, EV6, Mach-E. i4, e-tron, etc. and soon Lyriq, GV60, Ariya and quirky large EVs like the Hummer EV, Lightning...

    Toyota bZ4X SUV Concept

Folks have been picking up this EV this week in CA so folks will be reporting real world daily charging. The 80+% DC charging curve looks useless in the real world. 7000 available this year. A boatload of Solterras also arrived in the Bay Area - probably destined to dealers as demo units (I...

    Ioniq 5 vs Model Y

Yeah the first batch is for those states. People have ordered a month or so ago. For regular non ZEV states... ordering opens later this summer. I already have my name on a list at a few dealers. There many new EVs available now.. the Cadillac Lyriq ordering just opened up today and one dealer...
  46. V

    Ioniq 5 vs Model Y

I only test drove the Ioniq 5s (SE, SEL, Limited) on roads under 60mph so I only accelerated to 60s :) I pretty much have zero interest in the Ioniq 5 now that the Genesis GV60 is available soon. That's the true competitor to the Y.
  47. V

    Ioniq 5 vs Model Y

If the Telluride were electric it would cost $25K more IMO... at least. EVs truly cut down on features to save on costs. Unlike Hyundai, at least with Kia you get all the standard safety features (like a front sensor!!!) on all trims but only the fancy 360 camera on the top trim or tech...
  48. V

Sold my Model S, bought an Ioniq 5

Same with BlueCruise. I find the Autopilot system disengages too easily. Also, the Telluride has the full suite of safety features... I just recently bought an SX and can compare. The Ioniq 5 and EV6 are trimmed down versions of it. I don't think either have an audible warning "when you signal...
  49. V

    Ioniq 5 vs Model Y

The Kia/Hyundia HUD is useless in sunny weather with sunglasses. I recently bought a Telluride SX (top trim) as a second car and didn't even realized I had a HUD for the first 200 miles because my polarized sunglasses blocked the HUD display. I wish every EV had the full set of safety features...

    Ioniq 5 vs Model Y

$60K for Advanced (base) which is like an upgraded Ioniq 5 Limited AWD. Hopefully not a sh**ty stereo like the Ioniq 5 since it is B&O now (like the Mach-E). Will have native battery pre-conditioning from the start and everything the Ioniq 5 probably should have shipped with. Performance is...
