    CCS Adapter - ?

I think it’s end user confusion and possibly supply chain. I don’t know how many Tesla’s actually have CCS enabled, but the fact that some went out last year without CCS could create confusion for users. I think they’d have to add some logic to the store of whether you have a car that is...

    CCS Adapter - ?

Yep, I’ve used it probably 5 times since the reboot and it’s been great every time. Maxed out around 182kW for me on a 350 charger.

    CCS Adapter - ?

Agree it’s usually station issues, I’ve run into a lot of broken chargers. When I first got the adapter I failed at 2 different stations, but a reboot fixed it. So before giving up maybe try a reboot. I was getting unable to communicate with the car from the station, the car was waiting for...

    Electrify America

@JVINFL covered most of it. I used to order mine, ended up about $270 total. As for speed it depends. EA sites I’ve seen have at most had 2 350kW chargers and the rest are 150/50kWs. But a lot of Superchargers around me are only 150s. I may be wrong but I’d probably give a slight advantage...

Elon: Working on Tesla NA Service. Goal of having 2/3 of cars have same day service w/ no wait.

Well glad you’ve had great service and haven’t had an issue. Because of that you believe anyone saying they’ve had a different experience just likes to complain, let me guess maybe I’m lying and secretly a plant by the evil shorters? Would you be annoyed if you waited 3-4 weeks for an...

Whats comparable to The Tesla Mobile Connector On Amazon?

Are you sure yours isn’t coming with one, was it ordered after 4/17/22? I thought any of the ones affected were prompted at deposit to allow them to add one to the purchase. I can’t imagine they’re going to let you go without any charging option.

Elon: Working on Tesla NA Service. Goal of having 2/3 of cars have same day service w/ no wait.

Be thankful they rescheduled you. I’ve taken off work, shown up and they‘ve said oh we haven‘t got the part yet, we’ll cancel this for you and you can just open a new ticket and reschedule. That way they get credit for a complete job and I have to start over. I’ve found I always have to follow...

Yeah I don’t think OP is going to come back to enlighten us. I’m betting on incorrect breaker for panel or loose connection.

Battery Charger: Need to replace after breaker caught fire?

Can you give us a little more description of what happened? I’m sure we’d all be interested to hear what happened so we can avoid it and can‘t really give any advice without knowing more of the story. Was it the breaker the the EVSE was on? If so were the wires burned/jacket scorched at the...

    CCS Adapter - ?

There’s a Reddit thread about using delivered.co.kr which is what i used. Cost me a total around $270 but I had to use google translate and place the order myself. Think it was 11 days from order to my house.

You forgot the 5th thing to remember about CCS. A minimum of 1/3 CCS chargers will be broken at every location you go to

Modely Long range MSM or White

Same, no issues here. I’ve had more problems with popcorn getting stuck in the flush belt receivers then anything. I have had a bit of color transfer on the front seat, but once in awhile I’ll use a wet rag and it’s gone with a simple wipe.

    New 2022 MYP Completely Dead!

Have you opted out of arbitration yet? I think the window to do it is within 30 days of delivery. I’m not sure a lemon law is an option if you have an arbitration agreement in place. They may do it, but I don’t think they’re obligated to do it.

40 mi commute, office charger debate

Ok now that we all have the kW, kWh, and joules thing down, should we start talking about the type of wire? 8/3 NM-B?
  19. D

    Wall charger installation question

Yeah I remember being in a similar situation, 6/3 MC is easier to find and if you need less then 100’ of anything you’re paying a premium. I was going to do the MC but ended up getting a decent quote from an electrician to do it in conduit.

Car does not charge when cold

Pictures, videos, etc really do motivate Tesla service. I’ve had them tell me there’s no issue before, then I post a video of it happening to Imgur and link it in the SR. Then they say oh yeah we should fix that. Showing the steps a reasonable person would do to get around an issue, unplug...

    Wall charger installation question

I feel like everyone has made it clear the temperature differences is the reason you can’t use 6/2-3 NMB vs using 6awg MC or in conduit. In all of the cases the actual wire is more then likely the exact same. However that added plastic sheathing acts as an insulator which lowers the overall...

Need help for 5mm spacers that fit Model Y LR with 20” Uberturbine wheels.

I’ve got about 6000 miles on 255/45/20s. Haven’t had any rubbing issues or anything. However I have had a bit of instability at times, can’t say if it’s the tires (CrossClimate 2’s) or the increased dimensions. Once in awhile in a lane change or quick maneuver at high speeds it almost feels...

Installing wall charger with take-up reel

I think most of the time people use a Spring Balancer (unsure what lb you’d need). There’s someone on here who has one mounted to a swing arm that allows them to park in 2-3 different spots in the garage and hit it with the same aerial charger.

255/45R20 Tires on the 20" Inductions?

As @MatildaModelY said it doesn’t matter, you’ll never notice it. Just realize you’re going +2mph above 60. If you’re looking at these for year round though, I don’t think I can recommend them. They worked great for me as a winter tire when I couldn’t get any. But they can shimmy a bit at...

255/45R20 Tires on the 20" Inductions?

Max rim width on the 245/45/20’s is 9” and the inductions are 9.5”. I think they‘d fit on the tsportline version, or maybe the model 3 20’s, can’t remember their size. edit: belle tire had no trouble installing 255/45’s on mine. Just said it would be a couple off.

    Acceleration boost upgrade

They still haven‘t added a Standard option for AB right? Would be nice if it had 3 modes: comfort, original standard, boost. I’ve wanted to buy it but I already accelerate too fast for my wife in the regular LR.

Tesla requires 60A Disconnect switch w/charger?

Probably off topic to where the thread is now. But I was curious if maybe they quoted the disconnect for running aluminum vs copper. Depending on the run it might be easier to install SER for 95% and convert to copper at the charger. Not sure that’s the best idea but think it’s legal to do.

    Wireless phone charger 3/Y MagSafe

Thanks. On the model Y it seems like it for sure will hit if I Ieft the wheel all the way at the dash. Subtle differences between the 3/Y I guess. If you‘re talking about the MagSafe charger not sure as there’s conflicting info on the apple magsafe and the pixel. Seems like it’s under 12w...

Electrical Engineer / Contractor Question: Garage Level 2 Charging cord set-up Question

Think the best thing is to properly label this outlet 30A and run a separate EVSE and leave the dryer as is. But that might not be doable. I have to assume converting to a 14-30 isn’t possible either as I highly doubt they ran a neutral. Seems the next best bet would be to install a 10-30...

Hit the Carpool Lane Barrier while in AutoPilot

That really sucks and had to be freaky. At high speeds, narrow circumstances, there’s just only so much you can do. Posting the video may help other people see how quickly things can go badly. I’m guessing the jerk was similar to a blowout where it takes you to the side and it’s going to take...

    Properly disconnecting from chargepoint?

This. It’s tricky the first couple times, but you can do it one handed easily. Tap the button on charger handle, don’t pull, car unlocks, port goes blue-white, rengage the charger handle by letting the lever lock to the adapter and then pull. You’ll pull the handle and adapter in one. Otherwise...

    Wireless phone charger 3/Y MagSafe

Do you happen to have the tilt screen mount in your car? Every review I’ve look up on this has that mount. Doesn’t seem like it would clear the stalk on the stock Y screen. Edit: maybe because I have my steering wheel in as close to dash as it can go.

    Charging cable not fully secured

Sorry to hear that, stinks that they tested it for you and it “worked” for them. Know they couldn’t do anything about your electrician, but maybe toss you 25% off the new mobile charger would’ve been nice. If I were you I think I may have bought a home charger instead, that way you’re not...

    Long distance

I like to use ABRP and the Tesla routing for stuff like this. The locations will always change as you drive, so I check both every few stops. But I’m a big fan of the arrival minimum options in ABRP, the Tesla routing is still a little too aggressive for me. It‘s probably a better time saver...

Regenerative braking on icy roads need to turn off

I was going to buy the buttons when I experienced what winter driving was like on the stock tires in November. Admittedly my tires were in pretty bad shape, especially the rears. It was sliding all over the place and letting off the gas would kick the rear end out into a slide. The winter...

    FS: Tesla Model Y Reservation White/White $56,440 June 2022

Not sure how you would even do this. Doesn’t seem like a great idea to save what 1000-1500 but take on that risk of you taking the money, tesla cancelling, etc. The timeline is within a few weeks of each other with a brand new order. I get if you were offering it for $250-500 and doing...

    Charging cable not fully secured

Have you tried it again since unplugging it? I‘ve had the same chargepoint not work and then work the next day, I’ve always thought maybe a reboot or something fixed it. It’s super inconsistent when I’ve had it and sometimes if I just leave it plugged in it starts working. I agree maybe...

255/45R20 Tires on the 20" Inductions?

Can you describe the feeling? I’ve had a handful of times where I’ve had a slight shimmy on the tire, I’ve kind of attributed it to roll but it feels more at the tire. Also correct me if I’m wrong you’re on ubertine 20” not induction 20’s? 9 vs 9.5”

Is there any efficient method of getting to a P model?

Agreed, I’d at least buy the AB and see how it works. Think you have 48hours to return it. The hassle of selling/buying another car, tax implications, registration, etc would be too much for me.

    4680 Batteries from Giga Texas

Personally I don’t know that I’d want to get a a 4680 right off jump. For me waiting 6-12 months into production seems wiser, the initial bugs of the line should be worked out, so overall quality should have improved. Any potential issues with the new strurctural pack or whatever possible...

    4680 Batteries from Giga Texas

Hopefully they do, or even better make the range more realistic then what it is today. My MY is a 150 mile winter/200 mile summer car. It would be awesome if given realistic use it could get closer to 300. I know forum user X gets 3000% efficiency but my driving the car is 50-80%. That said...

14 Day winter parking at airport - RESULT

I’ve never done it, but I guess I assumed if you did the power down you could only wake the car up while you’re physically there. What does powering down the car do then? Edit: Appears it’s just put it to deep sleep now. Always assumed it was more.

    Charging cable not fully secured

I’ve had this with ChargePoint systems around my work sometimes. No amount of plugging in/unplugging seems to matter. However once I left it and was going to try and remotely start it a few times and I go to the app 10 minutes later and it was charging. Never had anything like that on home...

Your experience with Mileage warranty Tires

To be honest I don’t know that I’ve heard of a mileage warranty. If I don’t meet mileage (which I never ever do), I think it’s either my fault or crappy tires. If it’s crappy tires I just don’t get them again. In the case of Tesla they could be crappy tires, but me banging my head at every...
