Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I'd like to point out we're on page 17420. Proof of simulation. That's it.

Ok, but what's the new Monday? That's what the old-timers want to know!

So, some extra revenue recognition this quarter then?

    DeLorean

They just raised $60M, will fund engineering expansion and marketing, next round will 10x that, more engineering, design, marketing, HQ, and eventually an IPO. Contract manufacturing through a Foxconn like (or identical) entity. Merchandising potential through online gaming royalties, hot wheels...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

This is exactly what I said here: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/posts/6762078/ Part 1 of the 5 part Trilogy! Buckle up and get your popcorn! And buy calls at least a few months out - not an advice!

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Well, they won't do it, but if Elon wanted to start another epic 5-part trilogy, it could be here. Since we know May sucked in China, but perhaps was a record at Fremont and had an ever-increasing number from Austin, what if they released some short statement that read something like, "Tesla's...

    DeLorean

I suspect it will have sensors and a 'summon' feature to get out of tight situations. If automobiles had started with sliding doors like minivans, we'd probably all wonder about the viability of hinged doors in similar situations.

    DeLorean

You think that would command more for resale than #002, if available?
  11. Cattledog

    DeLorean

1.21, that's a fun idea. My guess is the lowest single digit I can get will carry the most value forward if these 88 ever become collectible. Elon had Model S #2, why not?

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Another Data Point - Our LR Model X recently moved (last week) from September delivery to early 2023. I just checked now, says 8/31-10/26 of '22. 🤡.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

You know, I was sort of hoping we'd go through a Roaring '20s, and then we all could have tried to sneak out the back door in mid-2028, but right now it feels like we missed the memo that changed things to Roaring '21.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

If Tesla is battery constrained, they can stretch the number of cars they sell by offering the lower mileage variant. Not positive that's the reason, but may be.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I have NO insight into this, but I think Elon will try to will the mother of all quarter end production/delivery events into existence.

    DeLorean

I have an opportunity to get one of the first 88, special editions. You can request a VIN. #1 and #88 are gone, VIN doesn't need to be 1-88, just 1-10,000 or so. What would you choose, lowest single digit VIN? Pi (not possible)? Other?

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I don't know where Tesla ends up on P/D numbers this quarter, but I bet there won't be an end-of-quarter push. I think, to the extent supplies allow, there will be an entire second half of the quarter push, with Elon's internal goal being getting production as close to Q1 as possible. This will...

    DeLorean

Let's see if we can get some discussion going about the upcoming DeLorean. There have a been a few posts scattered in other threads, perhaps we can gain momentum here. They will be releasing more information in several weeks and then a public unveiling in Pebble Beach in August...

    Austin gigafactory party

I got an invite, not sure how. I have done work for Tesla and have contacts, but I did not ask for an invite. I think randomly lucky. I enjoyed it, was fun and much looser than the other parties I've attended in Fremont, Hawthorne and Sparks.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I went tonight, it was awesome, no comparison to Fremont or Giga Nevada. Spoke to an employee who received their Model Y today, 4680 confirmed. Said hi to Franz and Ross Gerber. There was a petting zoo and mechanical bulls everywhere. Gigapress is impressive, as is battery manufacturing. About...

    SpaceX investor's thread

BTW, that ($180B) would imply something like a $1,200/share price. When I bought in April 2020 is was $220/share and the valuation was something like $34M.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Small data point - We bought our Model Y in February 2021 for $51,990, today that car on the same configuration is $64,990. We have a LR Model X on order from a year or so ago, and are expecting to use the Model Y as trade-in. Every month, the trade-in value 'expires' and I have to input the...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Perhaps, but it's exactly what the world needs - combine carrier with device, usable globally without shenanigans about calling plans, linked to car and other devices (like your humanoid robot), etc. I'd ditch my iPhone for one and I'd be 14th in line (like my Model S) even though everyone...
