Mobile Wheel Repair in SF Bay Area?

I've been so good with my previous cars but these 21" Uberturbines just poke out too much and I've got some curb rash I'd like to have fixed. Does anyone know of a good mobile repair business, preferably north or east bay.

Rivian price increased massively - $15,500. Cancelled, I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Rivian has relented and now will honor the original reservation price for anyone who ordered before March 1 2022. They are also going to honor that price for any of those that cancelled their orders as a result of this price increase, so if anyone in this thread got outraged and cancelled, if...

Enterprise Rental & their used Teslas - Free Supercharging

I was rear ended in my 40 day old Model Y and my insurance set me up with a rental from Enterprise. When I went to pick it up they said they were set to give me a Toyota SUV but the guy offered me a Tesla Model S instead. I said sure since I really didn't want to deal with gas as I'd already...

Confused and frustrated with schedule departure and schedule charge

Yeah, I think it could have been I had it plugged in before 3pm on a Friday. I have my scheduled departure set for weekdays only, but if I plug it in on the weekend it'll start charging to my limit if it's at off-peak rate time. Also in the latest version of the app I do have my off peak...

Confused and frustrated with schedule departure and schedule charge

I'm pretty sure it doesn't start charging the car until it's near my departure time. When I've pulled up the app at 4am I see it drawing 11.5 kwh and charging the car. It's definitely calculating how much time to charge to 80% and waits till then. It doesn't immediately start charging at...

Confused and frustrated with schedule departure and schedule charge

I get home from work around 1:45 (work east coast hours) and the times I have plugged it in it will start to charge but stops at 3pm. I have my departure set to 5am with precondition turned on set to weekdays. I come out every morning to the interior warmed up, battery ready to go at 80% SOC...

Confused and frustrated with schedule departure and schedule charge

Question: Have you turned on "Off-Peak Charge"? I have that on and set to All Week, with my off peak end time set to 3pm when higher electricity rates kick in. I come home from picking up kids from school at 4pm and plug my car in. It won't start charging until after midnight.

    Vendor TeslaShields Update #17

Ack, that stinks, sorry to hear it. I just tried to PM you but it won't let me on here. Please refund order #4192 as I can't wait that long and need a trunk liner sooner than that. Thank you!

3D-printed rear seat shoulder belt guides, great $20 mod

Anyone find the STL for this? It's sold out on Etsy, but I'd love to print this at home. I found this on thingiverse but OP's is more elegant. I can't find any other pictures of this uninstalled, but I assume the piece extends under the headrest with two holes for the posts to go through...

    Drove an ICE

I've accidentally turned on the cruise control in my MYP when trying to turn on the wipers multiple times as that was where the wiper stalk was on my M3. Kind of scary.

    Tesla shield business practice

I ordered the Model Y frunk/trunk 3 piece set back on Dec 4th, order #4192. It said shipping Jan 2022. Any update on when those might ship? Thank you!

Any compelling alternatives to a Model Y?

You keep saying German, but you really mean Swedish. That's good old Swedish Volvo engineering and build quality, even though it's built in China.

Significant ride comfort in MYP Performance with 19" Gemini wheels/ higher profile tires

Perspective: My prior two cars were a 2013 Subaru STI and a 2016 BMW M3 on the base 18" wheels. The MYP rides like a dream on the 21" Uberturbines.

Vendor AOSK Tesla Model Y Roof Spoiler and new Upgraded V2 Duckbill Spoiler is finally in stock!

This is the only thing you're selling that is useful since tesla is OOS of these. But again, there is a probelm. Your link points to those useless and awful glued on door handles, not the PPF.

Vendor AOSK Tesla Model Y Roof Spoiler and new Upgraded V2 Duckbill Spoiler is finally in stock!

You've spent time in a wind tunnel to prove this thing increases downforce? This 1" strip of molding really will "increase stability at high speed"? You've also created something that will deflect the airflow that normally will clear the rear window of rain. So you've made that worse too...

That roof spoiler looks like it disrupts airflow and reduces efficiency (range). Why would anyone want that?

Blue Glass Gen 3 Wall Charger Cover - I bought something frivolous but I love it

Blue Metallic charges faster than all the other colors. It's in the manual in the car.

Blue Glass Gen 3 Wall Charger Cover - I bought something frivolous but I love it

Yep, that's what I learned in my little dive. Honestly for home charging 48A is great. 40mi/hr is great, that's what i get, and it's way more than I need for home charging.

Blue Glass Gen 3 Wall Charger Cover - I bought something frivolous but I love it

thx for the edit, that confused me and made me think they made a color coordinated cover for the gen 2 charger, then I went down the rabbit hole of the gen 2 chargers and 80 amps and.....yeah. Anyway, nothing but love for this color. I always love blue cars, light blue, dark blue, I really...

Blue Glass Gen 3 Wall Charger Cover - I bought something frivolous but I love it

These things just came out this week. I bought one. My car was delivered 13 days ago and this is my first EV so I'm probably a little excited. Yeah I could also light $100 on fire. But then I wouldn't get to look at a blue wall charger that perfectly matches my car. I think it looks really...

MYP Tramlining on OEM Pirelli's or is it wind?

Thanks for that. I'm leaning toward this being a combination of three things. Wet roads, Grooved bridge pavement and high winds. Today I drove home from work across the Richmond bridge and there was little wind, but most importantly the road was dry, and I noticed none of the wiggle that I...

MYP Tramlining on OEM Pirelli's or is it wind?

I love my MYP so far, but I gotta say it's really spooky on bridges and I'm trying to figure out why. I have had the car 10 days and I'm on the OEM Pirelli's. When going across two bay area bridges, the Bay bridge and the Richmond bridge I've had some really unsettling wiggle at speeds over...

First 24hrs with my Model Y Performance (spoiler: full motor failure)

Couple comments. For the sun visors I don't get this one at all. The mirror cover is fabric covered, rubberized folding and magnetized. Feels perfectly fine and works well. And the visor itself is slightly curved to match the roof headliner so it doesn't stick out. Coming from an F80 M3 I...

First 24hrs with my Model Y Performance (spoiler: full motor failure)

On the carpet issue, I have to disagree. Yes, they are cheap feeling and lightweight. But so were the carpets in my BMW F80 M3. I suspect that the thin, light carpets were chosen for weight considerations.

Charging time Tesla charger vs Standard 50amp outlet

I have a Tesla Gen 3 wall charger hard wired to a 60 amp circuit. My MYP charges at 48 amps and my app tells my the car charges 41 mph. Honestly it's kind of overkill but I like it.

Connecting to gen 3 chargers after set up

Yes, at least on the Gen 3 charger I have on supposedly the latest firmware. You can restrict charging to "Authorized Teslas Only". You can plug in a VIN, or you can add a Tesla from a list of recently charged cars. I think Tesla only though, likely because it can't read the VIN of non-Teslas.

Connecting to gen 3 chargers after set up

Well this is lame. I can connect to it on my internal network but it tells me to connect to it's internal network. Come on Tesla, let me setup a login to an admin page or something. I mean you need to go in to tell it which cars to restrict charging to, and it's connected to my home wifi.

Connecting to gen 3 chargers after set up

Hmm, I had that problem with mine after I first connected it to my wifi network, so I went to the main panel and shut it off at the breaker to power cycle it. It came back and I waited longer and it finally came online. Going to try to connect to it via my home network now
  35. mephiska

Connecting to gen 3 chargers after set up

good to know I can get to it via the DHCP address it gets, will try that at home later.
  36. mephiska

Connecting to gen 3 chargers after set up

Weird, mine doesn't broadcast the SSID. I had to manually input it and the password to connect to it. Once I connected to it and gave it my wifi network info it connected and started working. I wish they would integrate it's control panel into the Tesla app.
  37. mephiska

Connecting to gen 3 chargers after set up

I think you have to connect to its hidden wifi network to get to its ip unless You can find it’s IP on your normal wifi network. also once you add it to your wifi you need to wait a bit after it updates. And if it’s still stuck you may need to power cycle it.

It seems the red/white interrior combo MYP people get pushed back the most. Something about that multi-stage paint combined with availability of the white interior makes scheduling take longer with more push backs.

Yeah pretty much. You'd think for a product so different from everything else on the road that they'd at least give you some kind of quick once over of the features and what's different. I found it even more strange how little attention they gave my trade in. In the past trade ins at regular...

I guess on the Y the rear wheel well bulges out a bit and that's the part that's susceptible to getting hit with small rocks. But yes the front tires are kicking debris rearward, especially when you're turning as the tire is outside the wheel well.

Pretty sure it's the front tires that kick stuff up and impacts the rear doors. The PPF should be a nationwide thing though, not just areas with snow. I put 110k miles on a Subaru WRX and had significant road rash despite living in CA.
