NHTSA Close to forcing recall of FSD after more crashes

It seems to me they are too busy making the real FSD and have left the old legacy unchanged for years. They should have hired a 2nd team to improve and maintain the legacy autopilot / FSD

    Viewing Sentry Recordings and Dashcam

I could be running a very special 2022.12.12 for all you know :)
  3. E

    Viewing Sentry Recordings and Dashcam

I mean I am on 2021.4.16... So you guys have to downgrade to get it fixed! Makes sense! since it was fast before. Is that what you mean? Or is it 2022.12.16?

    Viewing Sentry Recordings and Dashcam

    I am on 2022.4.5.12 ...

    Viewing Sentry Recordings and Dashcam

Version 16? What exactly is that in full version number?

Still Amazed at how bad regular AP/ACC is after 5 months

I don't think they have changed anything significant in that code for years. Only minor tuning of the variables.

MASTER THREAD: 2021 Model 3 - Charge data, battery discussion etc

And still the charging is slower than 2019 M3.
  9. E

MASTER THREAD: 2021 Model 3 - Charge data, battery discussion etc

My experience is that it can reach that also. But it stays there for like < 10 secs. But if you see teslabjorn's videos it clearly shows how terrible the curve is compared to older M3. If you are on the go and and need to charge some before reaching home, this matters more than the increased...

MASTER THREAD: 2021 Model 3 - Charge data, battery discussion etc

I still find the charging curve on my panasonic 2021 M3P disappointing and terrible. Doesn't even reach 250 kW after hours of preconditioning. It was delivered dec 30 2020. I find it strange that a 2019 M3 LR /P has a better charging curve with a smaller battery of the same brand.

    Android Tesla App 4.4.0-810

Did you find a solution for this? Same problem with android / english (US) but I want metric since I am in Europe.

So will this holiday update be V11? Plaid seems to be already running the new UI

Apple Working Toward Fully Autonomous Car With No Steering Wheel or Pedals, Aiming to Launch in 2025

They still logged more autonomous miles than Tesla, tho. Maybe they work on something super secret
  14. E

Apple Working Toward Fully Autonomous Car With No Steering Wheel or Pedals, Aiming to Launch in 2025

Tesla logged 0 or close to 0 autonomous miles right? Anyways, I trust Apple timelines more than Tesla at this point. It could be that they have a super algorithm that does not depend on zillions of miles. Maybe they bought mobileye stuff?

Apple Working Toward Fully Autonomous Car With No Steering Wheel or Pedals, Aiming to Launch in 2025

Bold. https://www.macrumors.com/2021/11/18/apple-car-fully-autonomous-2025-launch/ I hope this puts pressure on Tesla to actually deliver something usable before then

    AP wish changes

I want the tech from FSD beta to trickle down to regular AP / EAP once it becomes "single stack" and eventually will have improvements in the ghost braking department. my wish for feature / improvement is simply having it work as it should...

Navigate on Autopilot is Useless (2018.42.3)

It's a HOV lane, but the unique marking in norway is maybe the diagonal dotted line. AP freaks out over that
  19. E

Navigate on Autopilot is Useless (2018.42.3)

The so-called traffic light detection detects the tunnel status signs for lanes (open / closed ) lane etc as traffic lights. That's the only FSD feature I could legally use here , rendered useless. Also it refuses to see some speed limit signs, even if it's clear as day. And has decided that...
  20. E

Navigate on Autopilot is Useless (2018.42.3)

Mine freaks out at taxi lanes, has started to slow down massively before overpasses. That diagonal line makes it violently turn left, potentially slamming into vehicles on the left lane. Very dangerous. So routinely I have to just hold the steering wheel really firm, let it disengage when it...

M3P may have caused vertigo in friend.

How can it be related? It creates < 1G of force during acceleration. It's more likely that he got it from something else. It can happen at random, or as side effects of other medication. Could just as well be a side effect from the covid vaccine since I've read people report that after.
  22. E

Proof AP doesn’t ding you but…after you disengage

Are these stats only for Americans?

MASTER THREAD: 2021 Model 3 - Charge data, battery discussion etc

that's what the sales guy at tesla said. China m3p delivered to Europe.
  25. E

MASTER THREAD: 2021 Model 3 - Charge data, battery discussion etc

M3P is delivered with LFP from china. Due to the extra weight and other characteristics, how much do you think it affects the performance of the car vs Panasonic?

Layman's Explanation of Tesla AI Day

    This explains it really well.
  27. E

Autopilot leading-car tracking significantly worse after the radar-removal push

How can it be random when they bragged about it being more precise than the radar? 🤔
  28. E

Does Beta 9.x improve Navigate on Autopilot (highways)?

The on-ramp swerve is super annoying. There seems to be no cut-in / other car wanting to get into the lane detection either. These are features that are actually useful and possible to implement today. Instead they focus on city driving which nobody will be able to experience in years possibly.
  29. E

    Tesla AI Day - 2021

Yeah what made me react was this, it shows the monte carlo function in "neural net planner". His accent was quite heavy so maybe I missed that this is what they WANT it to look like (ie. NOT finished)
  30. E

Will Tesla need to retrofit side facing cameras?

Yeah I will just keep my car forever until they retrofit out of spite :p
  31. E

    Tesla AI Day - 2021

They are making progress , but I thought they were at this level last year... And I was not too far off with my prediction. It wasn't dumbed down as much as I thought, but it was fairly dumbed down: I am not sure they even promised anything this time, so joke's on me. :)
  32. E

    Tesla AI Day - 2021

Is the monte carlo search part really neural network? Or just that it's able to run on the AI chip?
  33. E

2021.4.21.3 AP nagging to put hands on wheel every 0.5 miles

There is. VW uses touch sensitive. but tesla probably wanted to save $1 per car

Decoding FSD Beta 9.2 release notes

From what I read it's the training that has changed to account for int8 (which has been there for I don't know how long), maybe verygreen knows. The OP also says this https://developer.nvidia.com/blog/improving-int8-accuracy-using-quantization-aware-training-and-the-transfer-learning-toolkit/
  35. E

Decoding FSD Beta 9.2 release notes

    it's even int8 which is a byte.

Tesla.com - "Transitioning to Tesla Vision"

That is what they are doing for one specific thing: The radar. It provides the same input Tesla Vision is providing, so they are compared on the spot. No separate setup needed. In fact this is way better since it runs within the same code loop so it can be compared more directly and see where...
  37. E

Tesla.com - "Transitioning to Tesla Vision"

I agree that they don't have proof that it's actually better. Because pure vision can react on totally different things. And I start to see you point in running them separately 100%. But then they would need to notify the users. Or at least split the software releases.
  38. E

Tesla.com - "Transitioning to Tesla Vision"

What's the point of that? If you run 2 sensors in the same environment, you A/B their outputs. Simple as. It's not necessary to make things harder than it needs to be on purpose.
  39. E

FSD rewrite will go out on Oct 20 to limited beta

What freak does code reviews at your place? This is completely normal. LOL.
  40. E

Tesla.com - "Transitioning to Tesla Vision"

Karpathy claimed that they ran vision I shadow mode and compared it to radar until it was good enough. But one phantom brake is one too many.

Tesla's Autosteer VS Toyota's Lane Tracing Assist

If I could use comma AI's solution in my 3, I would. Maybe the next EV would be one that comma 3 is most compatible with
  42. E

Tesla.com - "Transitioning to Tesla Vision"

And chances are they will not understand anything. They will just see that it braked . But to what? does it save minutes worth of video footage along with it? I don't think so! Without video it would be useless. It could maybe solve things like wrong speed limits or things like that. Tesla...
  43. E

Tesla's Autosteer VS Toyota's Lane Tracing Assist

It would be nice with a comparison of all autosteers from all brands to compare :)
  44. E

    New Tesla Vision Autopark!

In my experience autopilot has become worse over time since 2018 when I got my first Tesla. And it can't all be blamed on EU/UN nerfs.
  45. E

FSD Beta Videos (and questions for FSD Beta drivers)

I don't know what it's doing to be honest. I think it's a massive path prediction bug. It was supposed to go to the right. Why the heck would it freak out like that and allow the path prediction to touch the line? It should be in the middle of what it sees. The line is the middle of the car...
  46. E

FSD Beta Videos (and questions for FSD Beta drivers)

Elon Musk touted that it shouldn't need to rely on lines. It should see the context. Cars move in the opposite direction, and point in the opposite direction. don't move into that car lol
  47. E

I subscribed to FSD; I'm really glad I didn't purchase it

Yeah they need to keep it artificially high at 200$ to not piss off those who bought it with the car.
  48. E

FSD rewrite will go out on Oct 20 to limited beta

That I believe. Musk literally said that. EU is probably last. It sucks, but we're doin' things a bit different round these parts, know what I'm sayin' ? :D Very sad. :( The nerfs ironically make things more unsafe. But I think Tesla does it on purpose just to prove a point. For example: Instead...
  49. E

FSD rewrite will go out on Oct 20 to limited beta

Yeah, here it's NOT standard to have dotted lines :(
  50. E

I subscribed to FSD; I'm really glad I didn't purchase it

For a $200 monthly fee, it sure reflects what would be a full package.
